Add-ons are unique to HAOS, they're other software

#

That said, maybe you meant a custom integration?

That's an integration, that's already part of HA Core

#integrations-archived integrate Home Assistant with devices or services, or provide functionality within Home Assistant.

#add-ons-archived provide additional software or services, which an integration could possibility integrate with. Add-ons are for Home Assistant OS and Supervised only, other install methods can install software other ways.

Yes, but It shows that there should be support for the plugs but when I add devices into HA it does not show the optin

What exact models of plug?

long granite

When I select for devices it gives the options:
Add Matter device
TP-Link Kasa Smart
TP-Link Omada
TP-Link LTE

#

So not the TP-Link Tap Devices

#

I am looking to connect P110 plugs

What version (number) of HA Core?

Home Assistant 2023.7.3
Frontend 20230705.1 - latest

pallid gate

2023.7.3 is not at all current

#

You should start by updating

long granite
#

Ok, I will need to check how to do that as it is currently a package installation from the Synology center

#

It might still be the issue that I need to upgrade my NAS server first

pallid gate
#

Oh... good luck

long granite
#

My personal preference would be to just update my NAS server, as it has other benifits as well.

pallid gate
#

Yup

#

If you do that, get one that can run VMs, and one that's not a potato

long granite
#

And running HA on a virtual machine would get me settled for the next few 'years'?

pallid gate
#

Depends on your hardware choice

#

If you spec it right, sure

long granite
pallid gate
#

That's about the basic lowest spec

#

Depends on what you want to do, but for just HA it should be ok

#

You need to max the RAM out though
