#I'm getting started with HA and am

That lists four device classes, and none are sensors
omg ty for helping. What are the four "classes" listed? I'm having trouble parsing it the way you are (I have yet to do any actual automating btw).
- Plugs
- Power Strips
- Wall switches
- Bulbs
- Light strips
But the docs also link you to https://github.com/python-kasa/python-kasa#supported-devices
ah, ok, I was hoping to sort some way of easily scanning through a bunch of products to help me decide on the next switch with motion to test out, but it's still unclear how to size things up without going through the installation and integration. I searched through that repo and didn't see any kind of a manifest of model numbers outside of the README so am pretty confused what a given model maps to in their Python classes. Maybe it's based on feature discovery so there is no manifest to trace through to see what ultimately gets exposed to HA..
Well... there's nothing there at all about any form of sensor
However, #hardware-archived can always guide you if you answer questions in the pinned message
it would be nice if there was a unverversal, like IotObject defined, and then it would list "LED" and "Switch", and if it supported a motion, like a "PIR" type of attribute
ah, I'll probably just keep stumbling along. I always get hung up on little details as I add support for a new technology.
As a hint, #zigbee-archived is a great choice
#matter-archived and #thread-archived will become a good choice, but for now not so much
do you have any switch + motion devices deployed yourself?
No, but then I'm not in the USA
ah ok, I'll keep an eye out for zigbee in US form factors
#zigbee-archived can help you find them, if they exist
