The state value shows values like 0.009 kW or something similar which doesn't represents actual consumption. If I open the graph of the sensor, all values are correct. Cannot figure out why the sensor state is not showing the correct value, while the graph and energy dashboard is.

Any suggestions?

the energy dashboard uses long term statistics which is used to keep track of data over longer periods at a frequency of one datapoint per hour

#

so what is shown in the energy dashboard is not the sensor state but the statistics calculated by HA from it

#

for the energy dashboard that's mainly the running sum

What I am looking for is a sensor that represents the actual grid usage at given time. I was expecting teh sensor sensor.electricity_meter_power_consumption doiong just that. I am using this add in https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/dsmr

then you're looking for a sensor with unit W or kW

First, thank you for your assistance. Maybe I am misunderstanding you, that is what this sensor is suposed to be doing?

do you have solar?

stone glacier

Yes

then its probably producing

I am using the Grid Smart Meter device, SolarEdge Cloud Device and SolarEdge Modbus.

#

No, not producing.... to much clouds 😉
