It's plastic with a hinged lid. First time, magnet on the lip and sensor on the inside of the lid. When those vanished I put the magnet on the base behind the hinge and the sensor on the top/back of the lid, so they shouldn't be hit by falling trash bags. I hope.

Maybe I should try a vibration sensor on the bottom.

Did it vanish without a trace? It could be that bins were swapped
