In internet Wan(1) I have UPNP enabled, and have set up ipv6(dhcpv6).
For my global network settings everything is off. The gloabl switch settings has DHCP snooping on and RTSP.

I have 3 networks but all the matter stuff and hubs are on the default network.

The default has isolation off, content filter none, IGMP/Multicast DNS off, DHCP is set on auto, IPV6 is enabled with prefix delegation, RA is enabled, RA priority high, and DHCPv^ DNS control on auto and DHCPv6 set to the defuault values.

The wifi has 2.4/5ghz, band steering off, hide wifi off, client device isolation off, proxy arp off, BSS transition on, UAPSD on, Fast Roamin on, Wifi QoS off, Mutlicast Enhancement and Multicast Broadcast contro off, DTIM on Auto, Minimum Data rate control off, Device Access Filtering off, Security WPA2, PMF off, Group Rekey 3600, wifi scheduler off

If i run avahi-browse on laptop i can see the devices populated in matter.tcp domain but it looks like HA times out for mDNS resolution so it likely can't access it. Although, within the HAOS running avahi-browse in docker brings up everything

Will have a look at mine when I get home from work in 2ish hours

Hmm I tried that multicast enhancements seem the most promising but it has not effect rip

What error are you getting in the console for the matter server again?

#

Because I followed those (just now) and it is still working

rough slate
#

Just timeout errors resolving mDNS. My issue is that the HA is not receiving or reacting to the multicast broadcasts indicating that the matter device has reconnected to the network

spark pier
#

Strange. How is your HA instance connected to your router?

rough slate
#

Two dumb switches to UDM port

#

I have tried 1 dumb switch that also has the same issue so maybe I need to try direct connection

spark pier
#

Yeah, try the direct connection, tho an unmanaged switch shouldn’t be blocking it

#

Also, is your HA instance a docker container with the matter server as a separate container?

rough slate
#

No it’s running in a VM. I tried using a laptop running HA bare metal but it still didn’t work

#

I don’t think this is a network issue I packet captured and saw the IPv6 multicast for the matter devices in the matter server container
