Aqara devices will pair via the first thing they hear, even if that's a distant coordinator/router

You should always use the option to pair them via a nearby router device

My sonoff single is usb extended about 4 feet from the laptop and internet router

I don’t have a zigbee router I do not believe. I have smart outlets and wiz lightbulbs but I’m not sure how to turn them into zigbee router

Most mains powered Zigbee devices are routers

#

If you have none then the sensors need to be within 6 to 8 meters of the coordinator - maybe less - and ideally in the same room

You also need to have checked for WiFi interference

I tried with the sensors right next to the dongle and it still doesn’t work. Yet my zigbee ikea switch in the other side of the house works no issue

The Aqara sensors may be more sensitive to interference than your Ikea switch (which is a router)

I think this might be my issue but I have tried reconnecting like over 30 times by now and it still doesn’t work
