Don't use GPS for home/away
The official #android-archived and #ios_and_mac-archived apps have settings that help a bit, and the Android app's connected WiFi sensor helps a lot
Otherwise, time to switch to Bluetooth

I've thought about using wifi, but I often use mobile data at home
same with bluetooth, I don't always have it turned on
