Post the details and we can flag it for attention

#

Assuming that's one of the HA GitHubs anyway

noble pasture
#

awesome thanks, ah yeah it is, sorry, should have mentioned clearer

turbid sun
#

A lot of people end up here thinking it's support for many things not HA related

noble pasture
#

hehe yeah, HA is a wide concept, so lots of things seem 'part' of it I guess ๐Ÿ™‚

#

oh, where should I post it, any particular place dedicated?

turbid sun
#

Here

#

I can then pass it to the folks who manage the HA GitHubs

turbid sun
#

Yes, we've had people asking for help with their Discord account...

noble pasture
#

lol ๐Ÿ˜Š

#

fix my "Discord integration entity template" please?

#

but nah, i tried fixing it myself, but unable to
didn't find a proper way to get this fixed, so asking here seemed 'reasonable' ๐Ÿ˜‰

#

thanks for the push in the right direction, appreciated, details coming up in a min!

#

Copyright issue:
I posted a config file of some hardware I bought, thinking this config was public domain.
The owner/manufacterer has contacted me and requested me to take down this copyrighted code sample.

As far as I'm concerned, the entire issue can be removed, but only the offending sample is removed, that would be fine as well.

The issue can be found here:
https://github.com/home-assistant/home-assistant.io/issues/26279

The conflict lies in the <code> block in my opening post

Additional information:
This is also a moment for me to swallow my pride and apologize for creating that issue and the following replies.
I simply wanted to assist other people running into a similar problem, but I should have just kept quiet and not stick my nose where it didn't belong.
Apologies to frenk for my behaviour...

turbid sun
#

As I'll be asked, what's copyrighted in there?

noble pasture
#

@turbid sunthanks for your guidance!

turbid sun
#

I mean, the MQTT config can't be

red seal
#

yeah... nothing looks copyright there

noble pasture
#

thats what I thought, but the writer of the code claims otherwise

turbid sun
#

They're an idiot

red seal
#

yep, totally wrong

#

that's HA code

#

and those are MQTT topics which can't be copywrited

noble pasture
#

i know, and thats what I said as well, but I don't want to be in a fight with them either, might need their support in the future :x

red seal
#

so he's talking out his ass

#

just edit out the topics

noble pasture
#

if either of you speak dutch, I can show you my mail convo with them

red seal
#

sorry, don't

turbid sun
#

You should be able to edit your comment and remove the "offending" code

noble pasture
#

no worries, not really the issue either :x

#

How do I edit, as the edit option is gone for me?

#

(too much time passed?)

turbid sun
#

I'd assume the three dots shrug

red seal
#

I'll fucking post that code again and see what they say

noble pasture
#

Three dots only has 'Copy link' option, no edit/remove or otherwise

red seal
#

are you logged in?

noble pasture
#

yeah, same account as the post was made with, doublechecked to be sure

red seal
#

I can pretty much edit very old ones

#

and I don't have special powers

noble pasture
#

same here, in other github issues, but not this one :X

#

thats why I came here eventually ๐Ÿ˜‰

turbid sun
#

I've passed it up the chain

red seal
noble pasture
#

thanks so much, and again, sorry to be a bother

#

no edit button in entire github issue

#

all I got is notification/customize/subscribe in the right bar

red seal
#

aaaaaaaaaah, no it's closed

#

that's why
