Device trees are meant to describe the hardware. This is custom hardware. Why not a custom device tree?

I think overlays can change pretty much anything. So you can overlay a say "Orange Pi" device tree to the point it gets to be a "Raspberry Pi" device tree, but that seems silly 😅
