Ensure you handle SSL in a proxy server

Right

#

But don't do SSL in HA, do it in a proxy server, like NGINX

#

Then when at home you can connect as you already do

#

When away you use your DuckDNS hostname

leaden parrot
#

The issue ist in the app. I can only add one address

glossy kelp
#

iOS or Android?

leaden parrot
#

both

glossy kelp
#

Android supports two URLs

leaden parrot
#

my idea is to setup a dns server

glossy kelp
#

No need

@leaden parrot When using Discord's Reply feature it defaults to pinging the person you reply to, which can get frustrating for the target. Use Shift + click on the Reply option, or click @ ON to @ OFF to stop this - on the right side of the compose bar.

You have to change this every time (thank the Discord devs for that).

(i hope the ping is gone)

#

Whatever suits you

#

I've no idea of the differences, I don't use add-ons

robust sigil
#

if you use nginxproxymanager addon you dont need letsencrypt addon + nginx

#

letsencrypt certbot is built in

leaden parrot
#

and duckdns

robust sigil
#

use cloudflare not duckdns

#

pretty simple to setup

#

or buy a domain if you want a .com or w/e from namecheap or cloudflare themselves ($10/ year or so)

leaden parrot
#

i think i just buy a domain then

robust sigil
#

then cloudflare integration will keep it updated

#

integration sorry*

leaden parrot
#

does it works with the nginx proxy?

robust sigil
#

sure

#

there are video guides on youtube or written tutorials if you google for them

leaden parrot
#

is duckdns not safe? I mean i used it for a long time ^^"

glossy kelp
#

DuckDNS tends to have outages from time to time

#

I just bought my own domain... they're not expensive 😄

leaden parrot
#

im fine with buying a domain. Duckdns was just easy to setup for different services xP

robust sigil
#

i moved all my domains here

#

they charge at-cost including renewal pricing

glossy kelp
#

I've got a .uk left to move over but I've done the same

#

(transferring uk domains is a PITA)

robust sigil
#

well i have .network that namecheap charge $20 for and they make cloudflare pay like $70

#

so i cant move that over without shooting myself in the foot 😦

#

i like the domain too much to give up tho lol

#

having your domains on cloudflare lets you use their free tier geoipblocking and other nice features

#

so you can block china russia india etc from ever hitting your wan

leaden parrot
#

i used it before. But after some time my website providers only allows there own dns.
And i was to lazy to move my site ^^"

leaden parrot
#

xD yes yes

robust sigil
#

still the free domain on porkbun works fine

leaden parrot
#

also it was pretty cheap 1€ per Year for a .de domain

robust sigil
#

i moved nameservers to cloudflare after getting it and it works fine

#

.dev isnt a bad TLD

leaden parrot
robust sigil
#

right

leaden parrot
#

now i need a good name xD

#

Does anyone have maybe a link to the tutorial with nginx addon, cloudflare, sll and double addrresse?

glossy kelp
#

You'll find tutorials for all the parts, but not one for it all I suspect

leaden parrot
#

would have been nice xD less head smoking. But that will be fine. Would have been ausch too beautiful.

#

But all of you really thank you! :)
