#Accessing local Home assistant IP

This home assistant setup is in a location where I need it mostly for some non vital automations and there is no point of paying for an internet connection. I only access the location once a week or so.
It's just annoying to have to switch off phone data every time I want to connect to that local IP when I visit.
I'm a hardware guy, so I hope I'm not explaining the circumstances in a way that seems too obtuse

@dark pendant gotcha. I was hoping it had local network vpn capabilities also. thanks.

Honestly if it's low bandwidth you could probably pick up a mobile Sim that is <$10 a month

Also, if you just need some local automations you can maybe do it all with tasmota, and not have ha at all

This is in India. HA is just easier for me. everything is on a shoestring budget compared to the US/UK incomes 😅 . was just hoping there would be a free solution. I get your point about mobiles not doing well on mixed network.

What you could do is a tablet in the location

Or an old phone

Mounted on the wall

With whatever buttons and panels you need
