Without knowing what you're doing, and what the problems are, nobody can even begin to guess
If you're having problems with your updates to your configuration:
- Check the troubleshooting steps
- Check your log file - remembering you may need to set logger to
infoordebug - Explain what the problem you're having is - sharing configuration, errors, and logs
That should help
So normally you create an automation by adding a new one and setting a trigger for it. Then you add a device which you want to be changed and set an action to do. But when I set my reveiver as the entity, the action box is grayed out. The same happens with my second receiver but not with lights
@edgy vault When using Discord's Reply feature it defaults to pinging the person you reply to, which can get frustrating for the target. Use Shift + click on the Reply option, or click @ ON to @ OFF to stop this - on the right side of the compose bar.
You have to change this every time (thank the Discord devs for that).
oh sorry
Generally speaking you'll use Call a service and the relevant services for that entity
It's still pretty damn vague what you're doing, you've used a bunch of words to describe it, but ... I don't know what you're actually doing, what those devices are, anything really...
Your receiver may not have a device and so whatever you're looking at isn't an option
Your light entities will have many options under the light.turn_on service
it's difficult for me to describe the problem more detailed. But then maybe an different question to solve my problem.
How can I control my receiver with an automation? Is it even possible?
It depends on what it is, and which integration you're using with it
it's a pioneer and I'm using the DLNA Digital Media Renderer integration for it
I already found this page but how do I have to use it in an automation? Do I have to use the yaml editor to do this?
