TL/DR: It's not a problem, but you can't rename them in the UI in your case

Hey! (just saw this).
So... The behavior I see is, they are read only in the UI. I can modify them via yaml, and the changes appear correctly. I can also use them properly to read out their values in automations. So... it would seem that, they aren't a problem.

I have read through that documentation about 8 times looking for what I missed, or, just didn't understand, and it looks to me as though my sensors meet the requirements, and proper formatting. so...

TL;DR:
Because they are working as expected regardless of read only, do I just ignore that? Seems the best action to take...

Also... Thanks for your patience with my questions, and your time to explain. It has brought me a lot of sanity.

Things you set up in YAML usually don't have a unique_id property

and that is normal?

That's what I've just said

I was unsure from the documentation if that was a normal thing, or an error.

If it was an error, it'd have an ERROR message
