Maybe you should add some info on what light, what communication etc...

verbal stone
#

It'd also help to know what version of Home Assistant, and how you're connecting Google and HA

#

And, for good measure, do you only have the problem with voice control, or if you use the Google Home app doe you also have the problem?

Talk to us?

#

What light?

#

How did you integrate it into Home Assistant?

fading iron
verbal stone
#

And you have to do that every time

#

Thank the discord devs

ikr

verbal stone
#

Are you using the Tuya integration? Or the local tuya integration, or ... something else?

fading iron
#

the tuya integration

verbal stone
#

And you're going Google -> HA -> Tuya, you didn't connect the Tuya service directly to Google?

fading iron
#

well.. on my other 2 sets of bulbs they can control the colour fine

#

on the app and voice

You know you can edit your posts, rather than adding the missing letter to the next line ablobwink

ik

#

should i try and delete the interrogation? and re add it

verbal stone
#

I doubt that'll help

#

It sounds like you're saying that some Tuya bulbs work fine, and one doesn't?

halcyon chasm
#

Can you control the one that doesn't work correctly via the tuya app?

fading iron
halcyon chasm
#

And via Home assistant?

fading iron
verbal stone
#

Is the light the same model as the working ones, or different?

fading iron
#

just all it does puts the brightness up and down

verbal stone
#

Check the firmware revision then

fading iron
verbal stone
#

That's not the question

#

The question is what's different with that bulb

#

It may well be that the internals are different, Tuya is well known for doing that, and that's why you're having this problem

fading iron
#

wait they gird connect bulbs my bad :()

#

haveing issues right now with the tuya app

#

ok done still the same

verbal stone
#

Done ... what?

fading iron
#

the app and the api

verbal stone
#

You're not making any sense...

#

What on earth is "done the app and the api"?

fading iron
verbal stone
#

All we know currently is that the problem is a "gird connect"

#

Whatever the heck that is

fading iron
#

what ever what tips that i should try

#

t

verbal stone
#

Well, go back to the beginning

#
  1. What is the problem device - make, model, firmware
  2. How is it connected to HA - which integration
  3. Do you have other identical devices - same make, model, and firmware version
  4. Does the problem only occur when using the Google Home app
  5. Is the device only accessible in Google Home through Home Assistant
fading iron
#
  1. gird connect bulb just a bulb that does colors and firmware up to date v3.3.31
  2. tuya
  3. yes
    4 and yes
    5 no can be controlled on home assistant and google home
verbal stone
#

(5) you've connected the Tuya cloud service to Google, or not?

fading iron
#

no connected to home assistant then to google home

#

ok so it says on the other bulbs that dont change color it says this Google Assistant sent command ColorAbsolute

#

but on the other one it dosnt

#

are you there

verbal stone
#

Yes

fading iron
#

ok so how do i tell google you can change colours

verbal stone
#

Check the attribute of the light in devtools -> States

#

You're looking at supported_color_modes

#

It should say something like

supported_color_modes: color_temp, xy
supported_color_modes: color_temp, hs, rgb
#

Both of those are for lights that support (white) colour temperature and RGB

fading iron
#

on my bulbs that can change color on the google app it shows this should i paste it?

min_mireds: 153
max_mireds: 500
supported_color_modes:

  • brightness
  • color_temp
  • hs
    supported_features: 0
    friendly_name: desk lamp
verbal stone
#

And on the problem bulb?

fading iron
halcyon chasm
#

Just compare the working one with the not working one

fading iron
#

k

#

nope it went back to this
min_mireds: 153
max_mireds: 500
supported_color_modes:

  • brightness
  • color_temp
  • hs
    color_mode: color_temp
    brightness: 255
    color_temp: 500
    hs_color:
  • 30.601
  • 94.547
    rgb_color:
  • 255
  • 136
  • 13
    xy_color:
  • 0.599
  • 0.382
    friendly_name: '-desk lamp'
    supported_features: 0
#

i might be not saveing it

verbal stone
#
supported_color_modes:
  - brightness
  - color_temp
  - hs
#

That looks fine

#
color_mode: color_temp
``` currently in white colour temperature mode
fading iron
#
ok lost control cant turn it off
verbal stone
#
That sounds like a Tuya problem
fading iron
#
no on my other bulb that is not working is connected can control on and off
#
got control back
#
still nothing
verbal stone
#
Welcome to the "wonderful" world of cloud services, and Tuya
fading iron
#
Ok so its just a config thats broken i got control back after the friendly name was changed
#
Incorrect
#
So close i can feel it that i fixed it
