Some people advertise services on the forum. You could do worse than post there (under Social) explaining what you're looking for and what you think reasonable is.
Everybody's ideas of a reasonable price varies at the end of the day, and varies across the world...
hey Tinkerer
yeah price i get it, and i“m willing to pay, at the end of the day i have a problem and i need help and are willing to pay, but im not rich either
and good programers might charge a lot more x hr and get it done in less time than someone with less experience that charges less
I would like to contact people who are willing to do this and get quotes, im not trying to lowball anyone i know it takes work for what im asking
but i cant afford to break the bank either
a few hundred dollars i can afford to pay someone for this help
I dont understand this: "You could do worse than post there (under Social)"
The forum, post on the forum under the Social section
right now my main goal is to get HA updated without breaking anything
You need to provide an indicator of what you are expecting to pay - like a range - so that people who're interested can decide if it's even worth responding
I dont see social section in my discord
It's a big world too, so some details of which country you're in would help
And no, I don't do remote support
At least, not at a price that anybody would pay
happen to know anybody offerint these services?
Not personally, no
haha yeah i guessed tht allready
just for my info, would would be a fair hourly rate for you?
My day job is as a (very) specialist consultant, where my hourly rate is $shit_loads. I'd be looking at only half of that, which is still going to be far over $100
yeah im hoping not to spend more than 500usd
could pay more if someone improves my code and corrects errors and reformats whatever i have done wrong
TBH with HA there's many right ways of doing things, and a lot of good enough ways too
Other than with templates there's rarely anything that's really wrong, mostly it's just different
my main field of improvement is in templates
and also trying to make my code more scalable
wich i have improved a lot allready but i have a few things im not happy with
and dont know a better way to do it
and also making it more efficient as i feel its becoming slow
and a few random errors i have in the logs, but code has been working perfect for years, i just cant currently update HA without breaking it
I could but it would take me to much time of research to learn all the changes over the last year
and i just dont have time
someone who is up to date with HA and knows what he is doing will find it a lot easier than me
my main concern right now is I have a large a unifi setup and i am currently experiencing a lot of security warnings, and i know an old HA instalation is not good to have so im worried, I need to close this hole
Well, the details of those warnings will matter a lot
HA by itself being outdated isn't necessarily a problem
You're already on a later version than the last security update, so ...
I allready suscribed to abu casa like half an hour ago (was using port forwarind before)
trying to close holes
im also currently reaching out on unify discord to try to fix this at it seems tro be spreading
maybe you can give some advise on this i suscribed to nau and installed ha app but getting this error (home asistant hostname certificate mismatch, please review certificate or setting and try again)
Well, that probably comes from you still having SSL configured in HA
Remove the port forward, and remove the ssl_* lines under the http: section of configuration.yaml and restart HA
ok, done, rebooting, lets see
yeah that seems to have worked to remove the error thanks, but now the app seems to be stuck on initialising, doesnt normally take so long
it took a while and seemed to be past the error but im getting the same error again
Use an image hosting site to share an image of what you're seeing
its working from my browser on the pc with nabu casa link
but not on the phone app
first link didnt seem to wrk second one does
That's not what you should be using for the URL
The external URL should be your Nabu Casa address
The internal URL should be more like http://homeassistant.local:8123/
i also tried that
Your port forward is still configured
yes
this is with portforwarding disabled and nabu casa adresss
If so, did you enable the remote UI?
adress
yes
i cxan acess from pc fine with nabu casa link
Ok, so that sounds like a problem with your phone... to be tested separately
The #android-archived or #ios_and_mac-archived channels can help there since it works from the PC
You don't really want to post that URL š
I'm just saying if it works on the PC, it works
You can then move to troubleshooting the app
ok
yes, i know, i jusat posted it because i trust you
browser on phone also works
its the app giving this error
Ummm, this isn't a private chat
Anybody on the server can see this
You trust all 100,000 people here?
lol
As I said though:
The #android-archived or #ios_and_mac-archived channels can help there since it works from the PC
yes i was confused on how you are sending me this message lol
It's a thread
you deleted the link right?
Yes
thanks
The advantages of being a mod, I can fix other people's oversights
At least you didn't do what one person did, and posted a screenshot with the usernames and passwords...
š„° š
LOL
Phone restart sorted it!!! š
thanks for all the help, i really apreciate it
ill post on the forum to reach out for help
wow its so much faster and responsive now

well worth the suscription to be honest!
should have done it long ago
that was one of by bigest frustrations
anyway i need to run, wife is pretty pissed š
