Morning all,

I need a second pair of eyes on this problem. Im running a plex (Ubuntu headless 21.04) server here at home. I went from non raid to raid0 and backed up all my media before that. After backup all media is restored, but new media doesnt get added to the plex library. I did 'chmod -R 755 directoryname' to give new rights. But it doesnt seem to work. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

clear ferry
#

Well, is said folder added as a media library in Plex?

#

Is Plex running as a container or bare metal?

If you have presented the right folders to Plex, it should just index then

#

If not, read the log

stuck python

I have checked everything double. Download instances work under the right name:group, everything gets moved around and picked up. It just is plex. Let me go ahead and see if the logs detail anything

clear ferry
#

Also, running Plex and all *arr in containers is life

Much easier to maintain

stuck python

hmmm

I suppose its too late for that, i will have to start moving things around. And you know, i am one hell of a linux-noob.

But would it make sense to reinstall plex server?

Done completely? As in no more CORE no more SCALE? Curious what you switched too. last cedar

I hope not but if they switch from using docker a s Kubernetes back-end, it's possible.

last cedar
#

Will be interesting tbh

#

Proxmox doesn't do "proper" docker

fluid zephyr
#

Using docker-compose is considered a "hack" on SCALE as it is

And scale is also a bit janky

Kinda interesting. I don't really feel super 100% comfortable with debian, but I have 4 test dockers working and stable

brisk glen

fluid zephyr

No TrueNAS is using kubernetes... but I want to use docker-compose

brisk glen

K3s is more for home use

TrueNAS CORE seems to be the "home" use version now, while SCALE if for enterprise

clear ferry

Core is definitely the enterprise high availability version

#

Scale is for the modern customers

#

Neither is home tbh, but enthusiast rather

fluid zephyr
