Thanks for the ideas. Power consumption is very low, almost no difference between standby and powered on on low volume. What do you mean with volume level at the speaker? There is no 'on' led, just a display but that means I should open the device... I thought to keep the logic within HA by a kind of toggle memory. I know it's not a real 'feedback' and it can fail but all other items seems difficult

If the radio is off, the speaker shouldn't emit sound. If the radio is on, there should be a noticable change in volume level

and i have to disagree with that, brushless motors can easily last 100 years and the only thing that might wear out are the bearings, cause there are no other moving parts, see your average big industrial electric motors

Their super expensive red camera battery does not work after finally getting a battery fit, but dont even know how the BMS work.
Those boards often have 2 levels of undervoltage security, one where they just shut off the output but the electronics still stay active and one , that shuts off the entire BMS logic so the battery wont get damaged too much. Last one can very often be fixed by just charging the battery via the BMS, which they didnt do in the video.

With things like weed eaters, lawnmowers, and hedge trimmers? The battery powered versions are heavier, weaker, and have shorter runtimes. The gas and plug-in electric versions beat them by miles and miles on weight, size, utility, and performance.
