The current Windows home server is just a dedicated machine that only does what I describe. So I am willing to integrate everything into Home Assistan if possible. However, if I need programs outside Home Assistan on a Linux machine for example then this is not useful and it is better in my humble opinion to stay on Windows and run Home Assitant for example in Oracle VM and connect windows programs with Home Assistant. Agree with the supported line, but Ubuntu is installed on more computers than Debian11 will ever be... and even then, Ubuntu is Debian based. Dont get me wrong, I dont like ubuntu - I prefer Mint (which is Ubuntu based.. which by lineage - is debian based)
