Just check the documentation. Apparently sometimes the light can be covered but there’s a minimum distance between the light and its transformer to cover them

So not only can they not dim, they're below the minimum load of the ballast and they're trash quality light

i dunno if you can have dimmable LED lights with em, but I've got my downlights converted to a plug which is handy as, also means as non sparkies we can legally change em around

The downlights are about $12 each
Way cheaper than any zigbee bulb alternative
Plus the compromise of the insulation is costing me way more than that

seems logical yeah, so if i understand you've got one switch lighting a number of downlights (e.g. 4 in a room) - and you then use the shelly as a smart dimmer/switch?
(hunting for ideas for my next place in case i need to change at scale :D)

Did you guys need to research the type of dimming for the lights and get the appropriate leading edge/trailing edge or does that just tend to work out with those products?
I’ve been to a couple of callouts because people’s dimmable LEDs still flash when dimmed and had to get the appropriate matching product codes to make sure that happens less
