Yeah, I haven't delved into HA's YAML yet but from what I've heard it does kind of sound like that. I think an analogy that might ring more true for people would be to picture if someone made a programming language out of XML tags. I've worked with a system where they did that, it was pretty miserable. At that point just let me use a real programming language.

IMO if you are going to use HA you should have some level of comfort with YAML as some things still require it....so if you are just starting...dont dive into node red yet....start with yaml and if you feel you need something more then look into either node red or a python script

If I check on that feed every once in a while, it never has a problem. If I add it to motioneye or blueiris and set it to record, the camera locks up after several hours.

Well it's only illegal once there's legislation that makes it illegal.
And if every business can aggressively market their brand to corner the market, it's fair game.
I don't see how they legislate for massive brands like Amazon and Apple without it being targeted and discriminatory against only them.

I don't have much knowledge on this, but I think the US has some laws preventing companies form getting too big to where they have an unfair advantage bad for consumers

My one concern with the Elite is the battery. The regular Harmony remotes last years on a coin-cell, but the Elite needs to charge in a dock regularly...
