I have a router and NAS sorted, should I try and run it as hypervisor or make it into a lab workstation (a laptop would be better for this) or make it into a htpc (ssd and ram would be same price as a shield tv) or use it as a lab machine (not exactly a cheap lab machine)

Well, good news is...sturdy bins like these stack pretty high, even when they're fairly heavy!
They stack well because of the way their flip-top lids are designed.
Each lid locks to the other and keeps it from separating when pressure is applied on top.
