Did you know you can send DC and AC current over the same wire?
You use something called a Bias-T. Its used to power things like Pre-Amps and other devices in radio applications up the transmission line.
A bias t injects the DC into the AC line at the source and you use another bias t at the end to extract the DC
So what if you built a socket that has a switch on it that can switch between AC and DC power?
Ofc you cant send DC a long distance so its really kinda useless except in a single branch
