I'm an average user, I have the RPI4 as client (resenctly switched to Kodi+official Plex plugin) with PoE and as it's not working as sever it just plays the film over the Gbit Ethernet, it works amazingly well.
It won't ever transcode, that's handled by the Plex Server which in my case is a Proliant Microserver Xeon Gen8. Not the most powerful but works great.

they looked identical, crappy quality, horrible upscaling
eventually i got fed up and on black friday i got the sharp 65" 4k.... basically hisense since they're the same company
and it looks better by magnitudes
the colors do look more saturated, but scaling and overall quality of the panel feels much better
full array dimming as well, the LG was not
so i said fuck it, got the sharp... for the offices i got crappy lil walmart special "element" tv's that still looked better than the samsungs
but all have roku, except the sharp, which is android
