so with the help of home assistant and some integrations i made an alarm clock tha finally wakes me up on time i used hass agent to set the volume of voicemeeter to a specific percentage and then played music through music assistant on my main pc

So here's a perfect example. I just added 4 more devices. 3 power plugs and a binary sensor. Two of the power plugs are now reporting offline, one of them reports as being Battery despite it's mains (both power ones labelled Studio are identical). Outside Climate and Bathroom are both identical, yet only Outside did an OTA update, Bathroom just refuses. Also I highly doubt they are all at 100% battery.

It just feels like there's only a 30% chance that when I add a Zigbee device, that it'll actually work properly.

I use moonlight to access my admin home pc remotely through a wireguard vpn which I use to access my 3 proxmox machines. For the 4th time I forgot to turn my PC on before leaving and needed to access it remotely.
Enabled WOL but that only works when your pc is in and soft off state.

Anyways wired up an esp32 with a relay and photoresistor.. works great lol

I haven't tried WOL since removing my DD-WRT router, and just dropping down to the Mesh alone.

I had a previous set up where I had a DD-WRT router as the primary router, and the Netgear MR60 acting as an Access Point.

However... the DD-WRT got corrupted during a network maintenance thing. 😐

However, now that I switched most of smart devices away from Wifi to Zigbee, it has been working pretty good without the DD-WRT router

So, I should give WOL a try again now that my router set up has changed.

Hello all! New here, but been using HA for many years in various methods from pi's, vms, docker. Currently running HAOS in PVE with ZBT-2 (Threads), ZBT-1 (Zigbee), and ZWave dongles. Also using Ollama for local LLMs (running on a Mac M4 Max w/64GB Ram) with 3x Voice PE devices in the house. Been quite surprised and overall impressed with how well Voice PE does when using Ollama. I am using qwen3:4b-instruct-2507-q4_K_M and it seems as fast if not faster in some cases than the HomeAssistant built in one. 😄

Am sad though as I just found out at this time you cannot use Voice to play media. That is the only thing keeping me from dropping our last Apple Homepod is being able to play music from HA. 🙁

to the best of my knowledge they created the matter over wifi devices to get product into walmart, where there were concerns that the requirements for thread would result in too many returns. they've explicitly stated in a recent official post on their discord that they're committed to matter over thread for future and existing products.

stock issues might be a regional thing, their thread devices are still in stock on their store where i live.

tho for light bulbs i'd recommend checking out other vendors nowadays; nanoleaf isn't the only vendor for matter over thread lights any more and their current firmware has a few annoying issues.

I have an automation that turns on my exterior lights at sundown, and another on that turns them off at 10:30 PM.

Each of the bulbs are RGBW matter lights, all in a helper light-group. To apply a holiday routine, I first have the light turn on warm (as usual). Afterwards, I kick-off a 2nd xmas automation that alternates between green and red (using Turn On actions).

I learned to also disable the automation in my lights-off-at-10:30 automation, otherwise the xmas automation goes on forever and turns the bulbs back on when they're supposed to be off.

With some datetime restrictions, I'm probably going to have year-round light themes going set up this way
