This is the LRT I mentioned that is years past its timeline and way over budget

a year or two ago the rpi cost to performance ratio compared to a mini pc cost was not a good route I fully agree.. but this year it has changed and it is still falling in favor of the rpi

cause cost of mini pc's are climbing and older pi's like the rpi4 are dropping

not to mention the cost of hats, cases etc falling in price as well

if you were running frigate with more than say 4 cameras then you would be pushed toward a mini pc over an rpi

but ha installations that don't need anything to do with anything other than still images the rpi is the better choice
