Hi, so I've been deep into trying to debug a problem with the betas of "keymaster" - the zwave lock HACS thingy. It's very good, but it seems that there might be a bit of a deficiency in the zwave event system - specifically, event contexts from zwave events always seem to have the source flag set to LOCAL, even when the event has been triggered by a state change in a zwave device. Is this the correct use of that flag? Or is it an oversight that it's set to local always for zwave? Having events that come from a change in a zwave device remotely (someone unlocked the door using the physical lock, for example) be tagged with the REMOTE source flag seems to me would be very useful.

I've tried filtering local/remote by using the user_id flag, but there's automation circumstances where the user_id is unset, so it's not 100% reliable.

Also, is the lack of any meaningful API on the event.context class a deliberate choice? It seems the only way to get state from it is by directly querying the members, or by turning it into a dict using as_dict()...

one of the big issues with that setup is that its sharing the i2s bus which means you can use the mic OR the speaker. so you cant tell it to stop speaking or stop alarm sounding or something.

I have a custom voice sattelite that used to be using that kind of setup but i changed it out to use 2 i2s bus's so i can run both speaker and mic at the same time if/when needed.

I know that Aqara’s fp2 has fall detection if you put it on the ceiling (I haven’t done this). And depending on the range, you could probably use a zigbee or zwaveLR battery button on a cord that triggers a HA automation that sends out an alert. But I don’t know if you want something that important tied to a device like that.

Sure there is the log book card which is ginormous but hell all these custom card packs support the calendar card and it essentially does the same thing yet you can't use just any enty with those
