I started with unraid on my nas back in 2015, I couldn't afford the matched drives originally for zfs but with decent job and more frustration over data loss, I went to zfs, but also didn't really want to rebuild on truenas though I did consider it
I do use my nas as an app server too, though I have proxmox as another app server, lol, unraid is running a dozen or two containers all related to the vast data stores it has
I found that better to manage and performance over doing tons with NFS or smb
Most of my drives had unified on 8tb over the years, so all I needed on my swap was some new drives as a temp store for data (was doing that anyway ahead of tariffs)
So now got two zpools, one of new drives in raidz1, one of old drives in raidz2 (iirc)

When I first noticed it, it was because the room had shifted like 4 times and it thought that the dock was in a "no go" zone and couldn't get to it. That's when I researched on the web and it seems like it's a fairly common thing
the problem is mostly where there are very low obstructions - cat scratching posts with low carpeted bases or the tile that I have my litterbox sitting on are some culprits. I think they're too low for any of the sensors to see and avoid them
it's one of many things that I've had to do to adapt my house to the robots, when it should be the other way around

while home automation is interesting, it's not my main focus right now, but the home assistant voice PE seems to be a really nice box with the right hardware
can somebody help me understand how hackable it is to be turned into a standalone openai voicebot vs that just being a feature among many others?
espressif has a nice port of the openai embedded sdk and provisions for webrtc connections, which would be ideal to leverage gpt-realtime models https://github.com/espressif/esp-webrtc-solution/tree/main/solutions/openai_demo
however I assume I can't just flash that to the voice assistant, which seems to be based on esphome project

My plan for my front door is replace the lock hardware with a commercial-style electric mortise lock. I want to replace the whole door anyway (slightly bent, and has too much glass for my liking) so might as well get something like this put in the new one.
Means I can wire it to whatever access control system I feel like in the future, but works as a perfectly normal lock otherwise

Honestly, that's kind of an obscure message. What everyone calls "servers" on discord are actually called "guilds" internally in their systems, on the api, etc.

When I see firmware updates available for my Zigbee devices, my heart just sinks. I know that for each one of them I'm going to have to click "Update device firmware", watch it progress another 10-15% from where it was before, then some error happens and the adapter gets reset. Rinse and repeat. 10 devices to update is going to take me hours. Even with non-battery devices which are within 10 feet of the controller, with line of sight. Is it just me? Z2M and a SkyConnect from a couple of years ago. (The battery devices are even worse)

If the server gets too active discord will pause the server so it doesn’t overload their servers, at least I think... that’s my guess so take it with a grain of salt.

Makes sense, if multiple other servers experienced it at the same time then it would probably be a shard being knocked offline. Although as I said before, I have seen this happen on large servers. They reached their limit for online members and as an admin of a larger server (300,000 members) all we had to do was prune inactive members and the server returned to normal for everyone.

Sorry for getting all puffed up but I’ve seen this happen before. So it’s a little displeasing when someone just comes out and says “you’re wrong” with basically no proof. Also this was a recent event, only a few weeks ago. So not multiple years ago.
No other large servers I am in experienced that problem

That message was sent at 6 a.m. for me. Time zones are weird. But I’m going to repeat this for the 5th something time. A prune immediately fixed the issue. We cleared around 5,000 inactive members. So maybe it was an insane coincidence, or just something else. Who knows…

the motor in that pump is probably a mixed reactive/inductive load. for the reactive part of the load the voltage and current is out of sync. you must check how much reactive load your switch handles
