Did you have any issues updating viz z2m? This is my first Hue update I've received since ditching the bridge last year, don't really want to update if it might break something

I'm starting my small-ish home automation journey, beginning by finding dimmable RGB lightbulbs! Next step, probably coding something with an arduino to control a LED sign that lets me write whatever custom garbage I want on it, like "Knock before entering, live on Twitch, we need more toilet paper" and other dumb phrases

fringe bramble
#

Or yeah shitter's full I guess could go on there arrndKek

#

Right now I'm comparing the different prices for RGB dimmable lightbulbs and from my research Phillips Hue is the most recommended but a 3 pack is like 169.99$ CAD

Thank you for being a Nest Aware subscriber. We wanted to let you know that the price of your Nest Aware subscription for xx will soon increase from $80 a year to $100 a year (plus applicable taxes).

So uh... anybody done the shift from Nest Cameras to something more HA friendly lately?

#

There is a little compatibility issues with Frigate NVR if you plan on using that afaik with some cameras though

#

I haven’t had really any major issues with my Reolink doorbell though

visual walrus
#

I need to learn about running Frigate. I have a HA Green and a low spec raid5 media server.

scenic radish
#

yeah I like the Reolink PoE doorbell, but there is about a 3 sec delay with two-way audio in frigate

#

all of my wired cams are Amcrest flashed with Dahua firmware

visual walrus
#

Nest doorbell is about the same with that delay.

#

As a tl;dr question, I would run frigate on docker somewhere and have the NVR input content to it? Or have the cameras directly input content?

hoary canyon
#

The speaker on the doorbell gets pretty loud also so I’m not really worried about a slight delay, I figure they’ll hear it worst case if they start walking away

hoary canyon
#

the cameras would stream directly to it

visual walrus

so buying the reolink nvr wouldn't get me any closer to utilizing frigate.

Poboy is basically like a sub sandwich, but on French bread/baguette and will usually be fully dressed, with tomato slices, tartar sauce, a pickle slice, and lettuce. In addition to the sandwich I had Cajun rice. Which is basically rice, but with a bit more kick in it.

#

When Euros typically think of "American food" they usually leave out the most quintessential American food ever. Everything coming out of the upper Gulf Coast, usually associated with Louisiana, but tend to forget that when Louisiana food first started, "Louisiana" included all of the upper coast, including all of the Alabama and Mississippi coastlines. Hell, Mobile, Alabama was the original capital of the Louisiana colonial French territory.

Depends on where you live

primal laurel

and the way you zone cities also doesnt help. Big walmarts with massive parking lots

The biggest issue here is a lot of cities didn't really start expanding until after the proliferation of the automobile. That's the problem with being a fairly new nation.

I can walk, bike, or take transit to pretty much anywhere I need/want to go

But there's a pretty big push, nationwide, to undoing that. But it's not that easy to do to a city designed around the automobile.

robust flicker

Yep. Makes our downtown much more comfortable, even during our sweltering summers. And we're on the coast, so there's usually a decent breeze coming off the water. Our biggest issue here is rain. Our yearly average rainfall is 66 inches. that's about 167cm of rainfall...

e.g. if meridiem is at 1700 then 1600 would be 4am and 1800 would be 6pm.
you could even rotate your clock and put that at the top if it makes you feel better. in this example putting the 5 at the top

This is a county jail, located in the county seat (think capital city of the county) of a county with half a million people in it.

While not major, compared to some, it's the 3rd or 4th largest county in the state, and historically was the 2nd largest until finally surpassed by Huntsville and we play with Montgomery to tie for 3rd.

this sounds like math
