Hi all. I am trying to use some iPad's as always-on dashboard's on the wall. I have them connected with some "Makes by Mike" mounts and their thin USB-A to Lightning adapter (about 6" in length) and I have them powered using USB-A extension cables into 2 separate 15W chargers (I assume 15W because the USB-A port on them is rated at 5v-3A). This should be enough to slow charge them even with the display at 75%-100%?

I want to use 12W ports because the iPad 7's I am using don't draw more than that even with the display at max brightness and other things running (which I have turned off to help the charger fill the battery).
I also don't plan to use the iPad's at 100% charge all the time, so I want a single charger so I can use a spare Wyze plug I have to turn the charger off when the power hits 80% and then on to charge from 20%.

Yeah, I think they are 12W max tbh. I am only using the displays at 75% and they auto adjust anyway. I think my issue has been cable length. Anything longer than 3ft and it just seems like there's too much voltage drop. I have to use extension cables to use the mounts unfortunately because they use a converter USB adapter to go from a male A to flat ribbon lightning.
I am able to, however, reach my hand up into the wall space thankfully so I can easily mount an Anker charger with a long enough AC cable to the outlet I am using, and then I should be able to run the 3ft cables instead. Sucks I have to reach into the wall space to push this charger up into it.
I wish I knew if anyone solved this power issue for this use case so I could just emulate it.
If these iPad's used PD then it wouldn't even be an issue tbh.

Modern elevators use little energy to begin with, normal residential ones use less than 500kW/h per year. Regenerative braking while descending the car generates up to 25% of that. Heavily depending on the use case ofc. Really modern ones have battery systems in place or and either use it for the lift or can be fed into the building.
