I’ve got an fp2 which has been super reliable. I have 4 Apollo msr2s which have been solid once I got the tune right and an Apollo mtr that has been solid too (no tune).
I use them for sensing, lux values in each room, and in the case of the Apollo units the built in leds pulses blue when my clothes washer is done, orange when the dryer is done, and purple when the trash needs to go out to the curb.
And being able to hide them behind objects and still have them work is nice too

I was gonna use it to tell me when my child gets out of bed at night and even when I set it at the right height to not get tripped by the very short dog it loses track of her when she's asleep so if someone comes to check on her it'll just fire off the automation because you can't use the logic "IF TARGETS IN BED =0 and TARGETS IN ZONE 2 > 0" anymore
so you'd have to get something like the 2410, but then you lose the function of zones
which just means there's a better solution that's not based on mmwave
it's the wrong use case for it, obviously. I've moved on.

The LD2450 is known to struggle with still detection. Our MSR-2 uses the LD2410B which is better suited for still/static detection. We added 3 distance based zones that are user configurable which should help alert you if your child gets out of bed.

HAHA! We love the feedback as it helps us grow and make better devices. We are really excited about this sensor. True PoE for data and power! It also has USB-C power and Wi-Fi connectivity if that is your preference. You can even power it through USB-C and use ethernet for the connection too. Please let us know if there are any questions!

Why not line voltage?
Mains power is scary and requires more certifications etc. PoE is easier but it can also be powered by the rear USB-C too. It also has Wi-Fi connectivity and you can use ethernet just for data if you'd like.

these are great on paper but the issue is if you use them in a basic manner (which is how alot of smartplugs etc... use them). you end up with ESP pins referenced to mains
its fine in a sealed unit like a cheap smartplug but not for something there people might want to add stuff to pins or switch out sensors etc...

our alarms use 4 wires. our normal L/N/E then the Interconnect line. during an alarm the battery is used to put 9v onto that line with reference to neutral. i dont want to reference anything custom to AC if I can help it
