It's something to do with the way they carry stock - small orders are shipped direct from store via courier, but their warehouses also hold stock. You can only order from a warehouse for a truck delivery, meaning you have to spend a certain amount (I'm not sure what the number is). The warehouses don't ship via courier, so once the stores are sold out you can't buy the items by themselves

It probably makes sense when you're buying £20 worth of bowls, but when I'm buying £430 worth of speakers I figure that should probably be a "large order", personally...
