Survived TC Alfred and didn't even lose power once thankfully. We had to turn our inverters off though, and due to the "lifetime" energy reading and HA not knowing what to do with missing data, it's aggregated a few days worth of energy into 1 hour when I turned it back on thus making it look like we used 30kWh in a single hour 😛

Running into an issue and hoping one of you can help. Thank you all in advance. Related info:
HA Core = 2025.3.0
HA Supervisor = 2025.03.2
HA OS = 14.2
Running HACS with Plant Monitor integration.
Utilizing ESPHome integration for various ESP32 devices including several Apollo Automation PLT-1 & PLT1B devices for plant monitoring.
Dashboard - using a custom plant card from HACS - "Flower Card"

I am not sure what happened - I had multiple cards working and have been adding additional devices and plants. The data from the ESP32 PLT-1's was being collected and showed up under that device/entities. When you setup the plant, it points to those sensors. The card references the plant and the sensors attached to the plant. I still have two card's working but 2 others are not displaying the data on the dashboard, despite the ESP32 data being collected.

Here is what I have tried to resolve.

1. Reboot HA.
2. Remove both the plant and ESPHome entry and then re-add. Removal requires restart of HA. Re-adding requires adding the ESP device first since the plant device points to those sensors.
3. I have also removed just the plant and tried adding it back.
4. I have searched the config / yaml files and have not found an entries related to the plants that I could double check to see if something is off.

I have a early generation iiyama 4K display that my Series X doesn't accept as 4k but the Xbox One S/PS5/Google Streamer 4K do. That's even why I had to get that Streamer 4K device to watch stuff in 4K (I don't own the PS5 used for testing). Microsoft support told me it is because it's not HDMI 2.2 and that HDMI is not backwards compatible and I should just buy a new TV.

Just had to disable shader cache because it is faster to build them and it just clogs up your HDD because it calculates them for each planet or something like that. But right now I have an ikea tradfri bridge communicating with the few ikea sockets i have. I would like to use ZHA, and use the dongle to replace the ikea bridge (I’ve read that should be possible). Do I first disconnect the ikea bridge, then setup the dongle, and then pair all the devices again? Is that order correct?

There's no debate. z2m means you're decoupling your Zigbee from your HA, so you don't have to update/restart both together. Zigbee network can stay up at all times. It also seems to have quicker development, so if a new device needs adding, z2m typically has support sooner.

for me it's pretty simple. I have been using ZHA since 2019. Never had any issues. Switching to z2m would require setting up mqtt which you have to be okay with (I am not)

I'm very new to HA and automation, but I'm thinking that a esp32 with a battery backup and sensors for heat, humidity, presence and possibly window/door sensors in a single component that sends back the data to HA. Esp32 consumes a lot of battery life. There are Bluetooth or zigbee sensors which will last years on a single battery and provide the same functions

This auto coffee idea intrigues me. I normally make coffee with a moka pot at home. Since it just needs a heat source, it's ripe for some automation

I can't say I've wanted to before, but I could see a world in which this could become part of the morning routine

The ultimate is a grind a brew coffee maker that is HA controllable. I have one but at the current time I can't recommend it. It is awesome to say "Alexa, Good Morning." and off in the distance you can hear the grinder start whirring.

All of this said, I've found by far the best solution to coffee-on-demand without having to get up to make it, automate it, or handle hot objects before I've had my coffee just requires you to be ok with the coffee not being hot 😄

Because cold brew - which can be assembled the night before, and do its thing sitting in the door of the fridge overnight - solves a lot of these problems, just has to be poured into a glass and consumed in the morning
