I have an L shaped hallway. SO theres two motion sensors detecting movement in the hallway, which turns the lights on.

If the time is late, it only does 3% brightness (ie, if i go to to the bathroom at 2am, it doesnt blind me).

The door sensor comes in, so that if I come home at 2am.. The lights will go to 100% rather than 3%.

The thing I always tell people is while you can do whatever you like on your own time, you don't want to go so far down the rabbit hole that you can't function without.
People buy their fancy keyboards, use their weird keyboard layouts, and they entirely lose the ability to function if they're sat down in front of a machine without those things.
If you can't function with a $14 rubber dome office keyboard in QWERTY layout, at some point that is going to come back to bite you.

it was really one of those french vs german moments.

we needed some ibm rt unix systems and got some sent from france, some from germany. the ones from france arrived first. crated up somwhat randomly but with all the needed bits. no documentation on hardware or installed software, and no passwords. only french keybords, a few missing keys.

then came the german ones. each system in its own plywood crate on wheels. every system fully documented and root password written in. when we opened the workstations steel wire had been run through all installed cards and sealed so you had to break the seal to change anything. a list of all changes with dates and signatures (different colors and handwriting, so had been maintained in real time) was stapled to the crates. so someone maintained those on the crates in some storage area... every crate, monitor, cable and manual had been marked with the serial number of the workstation they belonged to. could it be more german?

For me personally, keyboards don't cause me health problems (using a mouse causes me wrist pain, so I try to avoid that), and I can already type at least as fast as I can think so I don't see any particular reason to accelerate that further.

It acts as a full remote, you can add buttons if they're missing them, it's great.... Amazon can see "On" and "Off". And it's a Toggle that can't tell or remember what state it was when you set it last.

only thing I didn't like (and this is a minor quibble) about the martin jerry wall switches is they have a "reset" button directly under the paddle and it is possible (not common) but possible to press it when pushing the regular "big" button. That casues the on-board ESP to reset and the switch is unresponsive till it reboots..

I had to RMA one of my cameras recently, it got into a state where it was rebooting basically constantly.
Re-terminated both ends of the cable, replaced the patch leads, tried different firmware, nothing worked.

I'm actually deploying a work instance right now.
Someone needed a quick and dirty solution to controlling some dumb lights, for which they bought - before consulting anyone in IT, I should add - a bunch of TP-Link smart plugs.
Works okay, just a bitch and a half to control using the first-party app.
All they need is one web dashboard with buttons for off, normal (some specific lights turned on) and "cleaners mode" (which turns them all on).

That's how my town lost an overpass carrying a major interstate over the main highway going in/out of town. People kept hitting the overpass with construction equipment rented from a couple companies on the highway, and the town said they couldn't afford an overpass so we now have a stupid intersection there, a longer commute, and frequent accidents.
