I "fixed" the problem by taking an uncrimped RJ-45 end, cutting the snap a bit short (so the release tab wasnt easily pushed)and then snapping that into the RJ45 socket on the back of the printer. They would have to use a paperclip to remove the RJ45 to get access to it and I was hoping that if they were looking that closely at the back they would notice the plug it was SUPPOSED to use ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I actually had that call about a month ago from my dad (hes in his 80's) turns out he was pressing the monitor power button on the monitor and couldn't understand why it would light up but then wouldnt boot up the PC 🤦‍

I would say that it's got a good design to be a solid way to monitor but should not be the primary product for monitoring health-related things. Have proper backups for those items that isn't tied into HA.

For example, some people might like being able to show the graph of their glucose levels.

yeah hotter running is bad for mechanical bearings and with finite lubricant that tends to get thicker as they dry out due to heat- it can really imapct drive life
