With RF and IR we can never know when it's on or off
We can only assume
I guess the device can't detect someone actually pressing the remote button
unless in learning mode?
that'd be a neat trick, it detects remote presses and maintains state that way
not likely tho'
yeah
could use something to track the power consumption?
sadly not
no power monitoring yet
and even then it'd have to be at the devices themselves because this damn breaker is for both bedrooms and bathroom
welcome to the 0 carb life
they are taking away the penny!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ok, the Linknlink folk said they are shipping the Pro model next month so I pre-ordered 2.
$40 USD for 2x HA compat 24ghz mmwave sensors is a good bet
if you have an electric bike ya gotta try thirdreality zigbee plugs
hey guys i'm thinking about a short youtube video where i suggest open source projects that need funding. I obviously will bring up zwavejs, zigbee2mqtt, etc but do you have any other suggestions? One of the things i'll be suggesting as well is underlying libraries such as https://opencollective.com/aio-libs the aio libs which is basically what a lot of our home assistant integrations depend on. I'd appreciate any private messages or replies if anyone has any suggestions on projects to add (big or small)
annoying ain't it?
need moar Missies!
I am enjoying it just need more young Sheldon references
I think there are a lot of people who work on home assistant that deserve a callout
Like the ones doing it in their free time
make every combination of lights/devices have a unique power draw
Wrong channel. Try #1284966617670881350 with the "Zigbee" tag.
Ok, apologies
Is this a continuation/rebrand of rhasspy-speech?

Fast but limited speech-to-text. Contribute to OHF-Voice/speech-to-phrase development by creating an account on GitHub.
Dont hope so.
?
doesn't rhasspy-speech too?
Isnt that whisper?
no
wyoming is the protocol whisper uses to talk with Home Assistant
Well i think someone totally else builds that integration you mentioned
both are developed by Mike Hansen
Don't know why whoming would go backwards
it's not backwards, it's a complenetary thing
rhasspy-speech for me is a lot more accurate than Whisper
i don't use LLMs so I don't care that it's limited
Sure but does it know music artists and songs?
Don't you need LLMs to use Assist to play songs etc?
No i use a levenheud sql function
Levenheud?
I've heard of Levenshtein distances, but what's that got to do with music? It's just about finding the closest matching string.
Well it i have a sql db with all my local music albums and artists
So what's the process?
Speak -> TTS -> maybe get slightly wrong text -> get smallest Levenshtein distance in your DB -> play that track?
Works great. Do not need a llm that requires online connectivity
Yes
I have artists so it plays all random tracks of an artist. Or an album
Gotcha. That's way cleaner and more interesting than LLMs anyway 😂
I tried to explain the guys of music assistant several times. Tried to make it work with music assistant but zero feedback.
If you dont have the entire world wide web music collection. But your own.
I also have the music known to the llm with functions. Works great on im happy i want happy music.
But that gives p!nk most of the time
P!nk is depressing 🤢 Heavy metal is my happy place 😂
JBO would like a word
Checking them out. Cheers!
I get the feeling they're more interesting when you know the songs they're parodying. I don't 😄
I want to play angry music is blocked by the llm
I just like the sort of silly music
Can I introduce you to our Lord and Savior micro center (but seriously magic place, they have rows of shelving of only UI gear)
I was thinking for a second. What is missy doing in germany
Id wish we'd have such store
Tho id probably be more broke then now (tech reasons)
Maybe when the us is safe to visit I'll have a peak into those stores

the "just got a few things" I got to teach someone my favorite trick at Home Depot .. you go into HD, thinking "just need these one or two things" so you don't bother with a cart
half way thru you've got like 9 additional things and it's falling out of your hands .. just grab a bucket, they're everywhere there and carry that to the self-checkout lanes and just leave the bucket there
well there's an incentive to making you use a cart so you BUY MOAR!
the HD never has baskets out
and again, you start off thinking you dont need it, you only need one or two things
Well because everyone asks for buckets :P
but your project, as you think about thing, the one or two things needs like 6-7 other things and you're struggling to hold on.. so.. again, just grab a bucket
well i do .. every damn time i go
the recent project, to add insulation to the cat shelters.. just need some foam boards.. 3 of them
then saw the reflective insulation, "that'll help!".. "how do i affix this to that".. back to the glue aisle.. it'd be nice if these panels were removable during the summer, off to the velcro..
so.. maybe the root of the problem is i didnt think the project through.. but I still used my bucket trick!
Beta's usually start last wednesday of the month, right?
https://developers.home-assistant.io/ has the calendar
Thanks, I was searching for this
ugh, my zha broke completely. Luckily my significant other is out for some hours. It would have been extra bad if not 🙁

Someone figured out how to use cheap location trackers with the Apple Airpod network and integrate it into HASS: https://musings.martyn.berlin/3-or-less-location-tracking-without-a-mac
is there a good way to do this other than just pointing to the repo and telling people to click on names of contributors?
specifically for home automation?
Where’s people in this channel who changed their name to mine yesterday? I have a treat. 😆
not necessarily, for example i will be including octoprint which isnt really home automation per-se
lots of open source stuff I use daily is on here https://numfocus.org/
Okay I found Lorin. 😂
they are also features in the docs
like under "sponsored projects" and "affiliated projects"?
thanks i'll bring that up as well
i dont expect to get many donations with my 140 subscriber channel but it cant hurt and i can later point people to it
yep
@hollow glacier I converted your message into a file since it's above 15 lines :+1:
tldr https://numfocus.org/projects-overview#requirements looks like maybe not the best thing to bring up since none of the things i care about qualify
seems they ONLY care about scientific not open source in general
i guess it cant hurt to bring it up and shame them for it

This is absolutely not confusing at all.
I JUST NOTICED YOU CHANGED YOUR BIO TOO LMFAO

ok, before I spend the time and effort going down this rabbit hole, does anyone have a device that can intercept garage door opener signals and send them to HA for automation work? got 3 buttons in my car I want to make do things
@analog crow This looks like a job for... HARDWARE channel! Away! 😁😂🤣
</bad superman>
that would have been a better place to ask
I wish there was a general place to ask questions where u can get a lot of eyes.. the individual channels here sometimes can get lost and get no responses 😦
if u ask over there, I'll pop over and drop my $0.02 if u like (I have one of those in-the-visor radio things for garage door)
done
dunno you seem more like hissy; the avatar confirms it.
😛

I love that episode.
"Hmm.. Before I go home for the day, should I close the tab in chrome in my remote office on the other side of town that is connected to my home instance of Home Assistant via VPN? Nah! I mean, what's the what's that could happen? 😁 <drives home, sees drive space shrinking on HAOS, opens log> Oh. 🤦
Its like the energizer bunny of errors.. it keeps going.. and going... and... 😂
sure would have been easier to diagnose if it gave an IP address of the offending session.. as it was I had to chase it down by process of elimination and only at the last minute did I recall I had been working from my office across town 🤦
I deleted a 27G homeasisstant log file recently...
Objectively the best cold opening of any show.
I absolutely lost it the first time I saw it
It was so well directed.
what's a cold opening?
why is there two of the same?
Typically in a comedy show it’s everything that happens before the credits

Good answer. That's about my level of brain
¯_(ツ)_/¯
I accidentally got sucked into the code I was writing and then at 17:40 just gave up
hate it when that happens

Ugh... I rarely come in here and it's only when I have a quick question, but now I see everything's been forumized and there's no more #zigbee... anyone know of another server for HA which still has real chat?
missy dealing with tuya caused personality splits. /s
Hey everyone, I have a quick question that is probably common sense to most of you who have been at this for a while:
If I install a smart switch to allow for control of a light through home assistant, can the physical switch still be used without effecting the ability to control it thoguh the system? For instance, if my wife hit the switch to shut a light off could I turn it back on through the system without physically toggling the switch back?
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how I should seek to set all of this up
yeah.
Most if not all smart switches can do this yes, they usually use a relay and a completely separate switch input. Most can even be decoupled fully
in fact thats how any proper smarthome should be.
still functional if something goes wrong with the system controlling further.
it was a bit like cortana in halo 4
Thank you!
We got our first hue bulbs not long ago for two rooms but have ran into this since once she turns a switch off, as is habit, I can longer have those lights controlled or automated until I flkip that switch again
hue does take a level of adjustment. 🤷♂️
And also they're so goddamned expensive its why I havent expanded mine.
Yeah, it seems much more cost effective to upgrade the switches instead of bulbs. Is that a reasonable take or am I missing something? Cause I could outfit my whole house with switches for the price of a couple hue bulbs
where the hell is @junior forge when you need to bring back order to this server? lol
i use relays behind normal switches which means you can use your regular switches and people dont see any difference except its now smart
if you let that switch take power from your smart bulbs you will be shaking up the zigbee mesh quite badly every time you switch on/off.
luckily most such switches can be set to decoupled mode where they will not actually switch power when flipped, only send a message to ha.
for rooms with dumb bulbs, set the switch as coupled. for those with smart bulbs decouple it and set ha up to turn the bulbs off instead when the switch is flipped
Is that something that needs to go into the wall behind the switch? My house is 101 years old and has been refitted a couple times, most recently like 20 years ago so naturally the area behind the switches is a mess 😂
this falls down to if you want rgb bulbs or not
tbh the rgb is neat but ultimately sounded cooler in theory than was bourne out in practice
they have thier uses but yea.. generally replacing every bulb in the home with them is more gimmick than anything
Losing my trash can would be a disaster
Yeah I definitely got got with the first pack. I think what I was excited about was the possibility of automation, but I had no experience yet and didn't realize the other possibilities that make more sense
How do I know if a product has the ability to decouple or not? I'm not finding it in any product descriptions
For example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CBNX6Q51
Introducing the TP-Link's 1st Matter Smart Light Switch Tapo S505! With Matter certification, it's compatible with all major smart home platforms - Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. Enjoy smooth LAN control, Multi-Admin access, easy guided install, and voice control....
incase of switches you buy it and find out. I know some of them (in the past) could be reflashed with something like tasmota that would give them the ability to act as a decoupled switch but I don't know any off hand that do it out of the box
I guess the ones marked as having a "smart mode" as per a previous discussion would be decoupled mode for use with smart bulbs as well
i think someone mentioned a shelly that could decouple? but that would be wifi?
I forgot we just had a convo about that a few weeks ago lol
Is there any reason that wifi would be less practical?
I have a Deco mesh network through my house (cause my walls are thick af). Is the congestion a significant concern if there is no signal problems?
depends on your network equipment
the gen4 ones will have zigbee but they are not yet released
wifi with local control is probably ok? no experience. most wifi stuff really wants to talk to its own cloud service. and needs its own app to set it up. and if ha has to talk through a cloud integration it's slooow
i use shellys with wifi. i am thinking about switching to gen4 with zigbee when they are a thing but it would be expensive to replace all. specially as i have a few gen3 ones "in stock"
just buy stuff that states local control lol
Ah I see. As much as is possible I don't want to depend on cloud. I feel like I've been fighting this battle my whole adult life lol
tplink "use" to be able to switch to fully local.. now they just have local as an auto backup so you basically have to block them at the router to maintain local only
er kasa
i had some tuya cloud integrated wifi bulbs and one day their servers/cloud provider struggled... could take minutes to turn on a bulb... so i bought a zigbee usb stick and never looked back
starting to sound a bit like a shelly shill now but they also support esphome so if you want to customise even further you can go that route too
these days with the price of zigbee being same if not sometimes more expensive than wifi it's hard to really know what route to go
damn sure not going zwave tho.. don't care how much more stable it is over zigbee lol
What are the different network standards currently? Ive seen like zigbee, zwave, and matter, but I don't understand whats so different between them, why all these different standards, what to choose etc lol
i did try a couple of zigbee things early on but they were awful. although i admit they were cheap and crap which was probably more the problem. but in any case i went wifi for pretty much everything. I have a good AP and have never had the issues everyone complains about with wifi devices. they are stable and quick
matter is something diffrent, it can be used over zigbee or wifi
wifi can be just as bad cause the devices made could be the culprit. take wyze cams for an example. product can work just fine for months then decide to be a pita, you don't know if it's your network, the camera or some neighbor nuking popcorn but for whatever reason the connect stability falls to shit in it's current location, you move it, the connection gets better but still no promises lol
not when your the one having the camera go offline and not getting to eat it
yeah its a fair assessment. i do kind of want to switch to zigbee and do it correctly at some point but i am not in a rush
in a perfect world
i do sometimes wish I ran cat cable to my doorbell when I redid this house
at that time it never even dawned on me they would make doorbell cams that would utilize it
Boy I'm having a hell of a time reconciling the possibilities of home automation with the idea that in doing so the default is to take away the simple functionality of a light switch. How do people get their spouses on board with this? 😅
In 1783?
spouse/family approval factor is always a challenge. you have to slowly put things in. get some wins with something they like and that will help them trust in other things
noone is talking about your birthday
@tidal bronze get a break from hosing down the flames?
Yeah I know, but thats kind of the problem: in order for the light switches to continue to work as light switches I have to find very specific models (or rewire a relay into the wall) and establish some sort of mesh network, of which there are multiple competing standards so I have to choose a lane now or invest in redundant network infrastructure.
my first thing I bought were shellies and they been the most solid thing I have ever bought
keep the original switches, tuck the puck inside the box and be done with it
How big are the relays? My boxes are stuffed with wires covered in paint because apparently masking tape wasn't available when the house was remodeled lol
get you some stranded wire tho.. bending solid copper that most homes are wired with is a bitch lol
what country you in?
Oof. US
they will fit
I got them in single gang boxes
one thing tho, if you have a double gang box and plan to put both switches on a shelly.. get the shelly that has 2 relayes in one unit
stuffing two shellies in a double gang is possible but that would not be fun at all
😅
yea plenty of room
I realized today I only have three single gang switches in my house though. The rest are double and one triple
stuffing a shelly into a single box with one of those switches that are like blocks likely won't work tho
I got a couple of those too lol
like how smart switches or timer switches come
the new generation shellies are even smaller than what I have so they may actually work
I just don't have one to know
Wait I just thought of something though: If I have that relay, but the actual switch is in the off position, won't it prevent me from turning on the light via app?
Oh duh, the relay is between the power and the light, the switch is just extra
and the shelly feeds a small amount of power through the loop to know the switches position
idk why I was thikning the relay was in between the power and switch but not the switch and light lol
the great thing about the pucks are. they don't have to go behind the switch
they can go into the light or whatever fixture as well
and work the same
It would still function the same if I installed it behind the light fixture? (Lots more room there)
yes
Man I gotta study wiring diagrams more lol I hardly ever deal with this stuff so I don't have to think about it much
shelly has the wire diagrams on thier site
I had zero room inside the wall to put the Shelly relay, so I added a junction box under the floor where the cables come out and put it there
Thank you everyone, I am going to think about this while I get something to eat and no doubt be back with more noob questions 😅
surprised discord hasn't come up with a way for servers to customize the graffiti that shows
The Watch Duty app has been tracking a fire in San Diego county called "Heavenly Fire"
seems like it would be...the other one
that the one that started yesterday? that burned over 5k acres already?
I'm getting notifications all the time for different fires
california winter
Not near me, thankfully
I cant post on any channel ?
Indeed!
those fries look a little gross
Was just there a couple of days ago
Look like normal in and out fries
so always gross.. gotcha
Have you ever experienced joy, Sonoma?
how would you know?
Animal style is life
Okay Mr Texas Roadhouse

did you get wine with your burger?
Always
so a fast food joint serves wine.. that is so californian lol
Jk got it delivered
bet it came in like like a pouch like those old hc fruit puches or whatever they were
@forest edge hit them up about those fries 🍟
I guess I could have pretended that my strawberry shake was wine
I like the over the top earnestness of that post
we don't have those here and now we know why
To S25 or not to
Ugh. Now I want a chocolate shake
Give in to the need
It’s crappy out and I don’t want to drive (and because it’s crappy out I don’t want to make someone else drive either)
Do it!
Honestly the only real feature in the S25 is it has the new Qualcomm "Elite" (Oryon core) CPU.
Otherwise it seems to be negligibly better, just a bunch of questionable AI bullshit.
But we "must" pay for bullshit
TBH the only reason I'd consider it - and I do need a new phone at some point soon - is the pre-order bonuses.
https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPHSAM00938103B/
With the $2650 512GB S25 Ultra, can get a free $850 e scooter and some other crap.
Flick those off for near RRP and the phone could be a lot cheaper

Nah.
Other bundle options include one with a gaming chair, or a couple of UE bluetooth speakers
So much negativity today.
Still using a 23U. Tmo sent S24u for free never got to transfer over.
New standard camera is 50mp right
I use call to text all the time.
Life saver
When you say IVR, reminds me of Motorola MicroTAC Elite
Yep, my troubles ended when I completed disabled VM years ago. Few thag get through every month goes to call to text.
My Sonoff SNZB-04P Door Sensor report door closed from a inch apart.
this is not going to work for me..
anyway to calibrate this?
like the sensor and the magnet part can be a inch away and still reports closed
Move them further apart?
Well that's... fun. My Zigbee and Zwave USB radios both lose connection to my HA VM every time I plug in a USB device to the hypervisor.
that's surprising
that sounds like some weird shit with power going on.
which is odd, unless it's some USB-C power distribution re-configuring
how can you move them apart on the axis where the door opens? vertical is fine, I am saying the distance between the 2 sensor when door is slightly open, but it won't report it open unless the door is more than an inch away.
smaller magnet.
its probably using a reed switch or something like that
i am using this on entrace door, I want to be able to check if some closed the door properly or not.
could also recess the magnet deeper into door.. etc
hmm.. so basically I have to play with the position of the magnet and sensor.
Nope no USB-C at all. 2.0 and 3.0 only. I plugged in my UPS to my hypervisor and the Zigbee and ZWave radios disappeared immediately from HA - Every device went unavailable.
That's what I meant
I see.
As mentioned, one side is usually just a magnet. Try a different one
OK, will test with another magnet as well.
flipping either the magnet or sensor the other side, the range becomes less, so it might work if I just flip either one of them.
they have - line indicator on both, I am guessing for letting the user know which direction should they face? facing them opposite makes the range less.
why are my device logs in the future? My time zone looks like it's set correctly in the general settings
wait the logbook is showing it correctly
... now history is as well
I'm going to bed.
are you sure? what timezone is it bedtime in?
New support post in a few years
"I put half of my sensor on a rocket to mars and I am getting low SQI on Z2M, can anyone help?"
think the racoon that passed infront of my door was missing it's tail
Poor thing 😦
Less filament for you though
I wonder if they use it for balance like cats
Still haven't got my Husqvarna mower working with HA, still can't find it via bluetooth
what in tarnation kind of mower is that
You have to sit on it first
OH
It has minature sheep under the clip deck, you have to drive slowly
Oh no, "fake Missy" keeps typing
hello
This is the best way. It's basically meditation.
Oh, it was actually "real Missy"
would the real missy please stand up.
Just sayin'
how many missy are required for critcal mass?

No... on a missyon
belgians will be supprised
Inside or outside?
I was just curious if the assistant had the gall to light up in your house or not
Everything you described is a business class ticket to lung cancer though
no smoker in my family has made it past 60, I should be safe
Actually come think of it, everyone in my family has smoked
And my father didn't quit until he was 67
I used to smoke 40 a day, but I quit when I was 30
Luck of the draw
Grandma smoked 2 packs a day most of her life. Looked like she was 85 at 50
Died at 57 from lung cancer
Actually noone of my biological family has had cancer even after 60 years of smoking
But their smoking spouses had
That's even worse
2 packs a day.. wtf..
2 packs till 30.. that mean you still got smokers cough?
Never had that no
maybe it's more time related than amount lol
I used to smoke rolling tobacco for a few years too
I did cigars once in awhile while I was younger but f that now
they made some pipes with replaceable filters. those might not have been as bad
I have a window under my decking, no idea why anyone would put it there. It is getting bricked up
I feel so sorry for my cat
Cone of Shame
I can post a pic of her face but some will probably be disturbed
She had eye surgery
She had too much lower eyelid
Our boy had to wear the cone (or at least we got him the flexible fabric kind) due to losing a fight with his sister and ending up with a fingernail-sized scab right above his eye that we didn't want him scratching
He spent an entire week moping
Poor thing ❤️
It didn't however (because it was flexible) stop him cramming himself into this bookshelf cube bed:
The rest of the time was spent looking despondent:
Aww, I will spoiler a (very cursed) pic
⚠️ after cat surgery picture
She looks slightly less demonic today
slightly
They had to shave around, and half stitch her eyes closed
Hoping for a large qol improvement for her
what happened?
tmw someone put HA on a Wii U.
Why.
Just.... why.
Perhaps its the only free hardware around. I recommend use what you have on facebook for starters.
And a wii u is certainly something you have around doing nothing.
wasnt it more of a browser running on a wii u than HA running?
i love how home assistant is telling me somethings wrong (the heaters supposted to be on by now)
Does anyone know if the gpio pins of the home assistant voice preview edition can be used for a ZigBee bridge like the ones for raspberrypis etc?
that would be a question for #1284966915055288530
And I suggest explaining more about what you're trying to do when you post there. It's not clear what your goal is
VoicePE is an ESP32-based device
Yes sorry I noticed that after posting here.
This discord server is annoying I’m not going to lie. Who thought it would be a good idea that every time everyone has a simple question they need to open a thread on a specific channel? Can’t we just have a general channel where people can ask questions in a normal chat type of way?
Nope 🤷🏻♂️
She has problems with allergies and her lower eyelids are too big. The edge of the eyelid curled in and rubbed the eyeballs. She had a very severe llergic reation (losing fur and stuff) for a good year, so we put off the surgery on her eyes. Now we have the alergy under control at least
It used to be a real mess, people would ask support questions and everyone would miss all the raccoon chat, just awful
oh wow. never seen that before.
Then 70% of the questions get snowed in making peeps repeat there questions.
fair enough i guess
meh. still waiting for my apollo mtr1. ordered jan 2., shipped the next day. and according to tracking it was still in the us of a yesterday. maybe you need a chinese shipping company to open a branch over there 😄
The great carrot disappearance of 2025 has been solved
definitely a carrot-muncher

I wonder how something like this even gets to production
According to blue iris it was a dog or a cat 🤣
just made a wall dashboard
it runs android 6.0.1
it's a modded Frameo smart picture frame, you can enable ADB in the settings
i just installed Chrome since I wasn
't able to update Webview
it runs well
@lone dagger how are your lights outside working now?
still Tuya?
Still working!!
In fact, our new neighbors installed RGB path lights since we’ve had ours working properly. 😆
apartment users, where do you put your wall dashboards?
Do you want to have it to monitor stuff, or control stuff?
both
Yea those are good locations, but I'm trying to find a way to power it
Prefferably no cables visible
Right angled power connections are great
it's powered from the back, it's a modded smart photo frame
Maybe
You could maybe use a PoE Hat (takes poe 48V to whatever you want)
On the end of a network cable
There’s an artist named MISSY that recently came through my daily mixes and when she comes on I’m like “this slaps”. But it’s not often enough for me to remember the songs. 😂
How from behind? I live in Romania, in Europe, our walls are thick 20cm reinforced concrete
No way I'm putting a conduit behind the wall
I wondered if you could drill through and power it from the other side?
I love discovering new music that slaps
Well I found a solution
Mounted next to the kitchen door, cable channel on the door frame (both are white) to an outlet that is behind a drawer
That sounds like a great solution!
Just be mindful that if you charge the battery all the time (if it has a battery) that it could be bad for the life of the battery/ dangerous if/ when it fails
Samsung tablets and phones have a mode thst only charges to 80% and no more, for example
It's a Frameo photo frame modded to get access to the internal Android system, I just installed Chrome and put it in fullscreen. No battery, powered by a wall adapter.
one of the dogs went over to the speakers and listened for a while.
It must sound like food!
she is a very good girl.
now you just need to make a screensaver to switch back to showing photos when not in use so it looks normal having a picture frame lol
incognito HA dashboard
not so incognito when someone asks "why you have photos of your dog next to the intercom?"
My home assistant suddenly stopped working after ssl handshake just trying to find right place to post
Would that be under #1284966540617449515?
yes
Sheesh.. complete newbie but want to learn. We are moving into our house, and wife out of desperation purchased a Ring door bell.
I already have 2 blink indoor cameras, an alexa echo show, and echo dot.
In terms of a smart hub, any advice on what to get? I will be getting additional smart home items from ring and amazon as an fyi
build your own HA server
or HA green
I run home assistant on vmware on a lenovo mini pc that is my apartment server
Got it, thank you. Will have to search up on that
Before buying anything I'd check first, if they work with HA at all.

i just made these wiki articles if anyone wants to provide feedback i'd appreciate it. we go live on the products next week so let me know if you have any suggestions
Oh, is this meant to be a grill temperature system that works with HA?
Oh, I think I mean General Temp, I saw grill and thought it was meant for that use case.
it has an optional probe for a temp sensor or a grill probe and an option in settings to swap between the two https://wiki.apolloautomation.com/products/temp1b/addons/food-probe/
or baking etc
Hey, that's kinda cool
Can it only do one plug or are you planning on making a specific grill version?
I've been thinking about building a brick pizza oven, was thinking about embedding a temperature sensor into the structure of it
What do you mean?
It uses a 3.5mm to grill probe or 3.5mm to temp probe optional addons
The LoRa stuff I use around the place has a sensor model with a probe that's rated for 800°C (1472°F) which I think oughta do it 😉
Like do you plan on making a specific unit to be for a grill system where you can have grill temp and food temp?
Like just both at once?
Yeah.
No but I’ll bring that up to Trevor that’s a cool idea. I think we could sell an addon that uses gpio pins for a new sensor
ah nvm we dont have the mezzanine connector on the temp-1/temp-1b
Because I have a bluetooth connected grill probe system, and I have 3 grill types. Ceramic Coal, Metal Charcoal, and Propane Griddle.
Being able to have something available for them would be great where I don't have to annoyingly pair it every time.
the downside is the main esp32 part isnt waterproof it's meant to be taken outside and used then brought back in
you'd have to use a waterproof enclosure or something
I need an everything-proof container because of how rapid my weather changes.
https://wiki.apolloautomation.com/products/temp1b/addons/magnetic-mount/ i added some info here
HI All really new to this all its there a channel i can write my questions in to get help. set up my system today but got a few questions and how to add certain things inot the dash
We have #find-support for that
And if you can't find where it should go, just throw it in #1284976732428046461 and they'll direct you.
thanks buddy
You're welcome.
I'll have to take a look at some of your other products.
Thx we’re a made for esphome company and at some point will be an official home assistant partner
Sounds great.
I use a bunch of different systems. My room alone has Matter, WiFi, and Zigbee.
We’ve sent a lot of test units out to get feedback too.. including a lot of home assistant and esphome folks
I’m still not on the matter train but I like zigbee and zwave hardware when it makes sense over WiFi devices
I'm yet to have a Z-Wave dongle.
I'm using a generic Zigbee one from AliExpress.
And my printer is yelling at me about being low on ink.
Just disable the integration
Then my family will forget about the printer.
I added my printer by SNMP 😄
Mine's IPP.
I have an old-ass HP LaserJet and SNMPv1 is the fanciest option it offers. It well predates IPP being suported, port 9100 raw printing for lyf 😎
It might support LPD, but that's hardly an improvement
I have the HP Envy 4500 🤷
LaserJet CP5225dn
This just oozes quality 😄
sensor
- platform: snmp
host: 10.2.2.70
version: "1"
baseoid: 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.1
name: "HP CP5225dn black toner level"
unit_of_measurement: "%"
Then there's this.
How can I make a countdown timer that will turn a fan on for an adjustable amount of time? Ideally like the wind up timers on gas stoves where you dial in 45 minutes or whatever and it counts down and rings a bell when it’s done
could probably do that with a script
That's for #1284980040940912641
Thanks I’ll ask on automations. Also I thought I was on #general-archived. I’m a dunce when it comes to discord
general not a thing anymore 😛
Oh ok
I think it’s nervous.
report that bug yo
Well I don't have enough information on how the bug works and how it affects different devices.
It may just be a local issue on my device.
Man upgrading haos os shouldn't brick things haha
HAOS won't boot now and when i check date in emergency console it seems it's way off like may 25 2017 or something
My whole home relies on a docker container.
Because it's easier for me to port across OSes when I upgrade or change things.
Is it possible to roll back update? Via emergency console?
My latest kerfuffle was figuring out how to not break HA when the OS wants to upgrade docker (I'm using the supervised-on-debian install).
It turns out you can use PackageKit instead of raw apt commands to stage the updates so it uses systemd's "offline-updates" mechanism to install them on reboot. Then just use the reboot option from inside HA, it reboots, updates, reboots again, always applies cleanly.
#1284966540617449515 might be able to help

@hollow glacier Your MSR-1 seems like a device I've been wanting to make myself.
that's the old model we only sell an MSR-2 now it's even smaller https://apolloautomation.com/products/msr-2
It seems that one is missing the Humidity sensor, unless it wan't added in the docs?
Or I'm misreading it.
bme280 in msr-1 has temp/humidity, in MSR-2 you can get it back by adding the scd40 co2 sensor https://sensirion.com/products/catalog/SCD40 which has temp/humidity on it too but then you have to offset them cuz of the heat of the microcontroller trapped in the tiny case https://wiki.apolloautomation.com/products/general/temp-hum-calibration/#simple-offsets-for-temperature-and-humidity
Increase health, improve energy-efficiency, ensure safety & comfort - for a better tomorrow.
Ah.
ideally you just use separate temp/humidity sensors like cheap inkbird ble ones
mmwave sensor does a lot still
Oh, I need to have less devices because of how my family is.
Are the argon cases on aliexpress legit?
Legit?

Hey everyone, has anyone had difficulties with Shelly relays? I have three 1 Mini gen3 not broadcasting Bluetooth or WiFi. I assume the odds of receiving three defective units has to be pretty low so I’m trying to figure out what could be going wrong here, but I thought I would check if anyone else has had this sort of problem
No.
i have a ton of shelly stuff and its been fine. do you have any that are working? maybe you are wiring them incorrectly or something? make a thread in #1284966353798697001 with some more info and maybe someone can help.
Okay, thanks! I’ll post in the hardware support and see what gets suggested.
Also I noticed there is one little button on the side opposite the terminal screws that isn’t referenced in the included documentation or any of the troubleshooting steps online, does anyone know what the heck it’s for??
i think you press and hold for 10 seconds or something for a factory default reset
@tidal bronze Good to see enough of you got on your knees and prayed for rain and your prayers were answered
how very German. Digital is evil
it had even a mail notification light
I think the guy who built this simply predated the "digital" era ^^
i don't speak german. how is that "smart home"?
there is not much described what it was for, only that there was a blinking light to notify about mail in the mailbox and it controlled the charging of batteries from the solar panels on the balcony
ah
unfortunately the guy who built it died with 90 years so there is not much known about it
Prayers? 🤔
Yea I just saw the mudslides.. you all certianly aren't doing any prayers lol
That is awesome
mudslides are awesome? man you swedes are brutal
Cheers!
I was meant to reply to the german analog thing, guess I just look like a proper wanker instead @forest edge haha
Hello everyone, I am very new to home assistant I learned about this by getting the home assistant voice, I received it yesterday I set up a server yesterday in a pc but now going deeper and wanting protect on ha but this is not maintained now is it worth putting this integration in?
I suggest asking in #1284966582375813201
Thank you so much @static schooner
how do you see the motion with this
Oh great. I switched from inet provider. Please send back your tplink wifi boosters for recycling.
I call i still have a good use for them. Oh then you need to pay 90 euro.
of course
any ESP nerds here, specifically people who write their own code from scratch for them? i happen to have managed to rip the firmware of a commercially-sold ESP8266 device that i regularly use, wanna share the file with others online but not 100% sure that it doesn't contain my WiFi credentials
specifically I got one of these, I took it apart & found it has TX + RX pads in a convenient spot + IO0 and GND pads nearby, with some messing about with wires attached I finally managed to rip the factory firmware off it https://www.amazon.in/Philips-WiFi-Remote-Control-Pack/dp/B09QYYRFSN
that was step one, I wanna go further with this and see if I could even get stupid & like run ESPhome on it maybe, but I'd also like to put the firmware I extracted for it where people can find it
Philips Smart Wi-Fi LED lighting puts you in complete control with smart bulbs and accessories that are easy to use, functional and affordable. This Smart Wi-Fi Remote provides easy, wireless control for all Philips Wi-Fi and WiZ connected products. Turn lights on or off, change the brightness, t...
as for the firmware itself: only wanna DM it to someone that can understand it for the earlier mentioned reason, but I will share the output from running binwalk on it:
DECIMAL HEXADECIMAL DESCRIPTION
5484 0x156C CRC32 polynomial table, little endian
73043 0x11D53 Unix path: /dev/uart/0
76232 0x129C8 CRC32 polynomial table, little endian
77256 0x12DC8 SHA256 hash constants, little endian
81860 0x13FC4 AES Inverse S-Box
86212 0x150C4 AES S-Box
At best you would not copy a device in use but from its factory state
Question, I have this automation...
condition: sun
before: sunset
before_offset: "10:00"
What do you read the time offset as?
This looks like a support question for #1284980040940912641
so where are wifi credentials typically stored, in this case?
...hell, if they're even stored at all with this thing, because I happen to have just remembered that the WiZmote communicates with WiZ lights directly without using WiFi lol
yeah but its just a quick question to see what the logic is..
This is no support channel.
ok sorry

Ziggo moment
How you know its ziggo
they do tp link extenders
toilet paper extenders yesyes
What's a good way to create backups of HAOS?
to go on the backup page and create a backup
Can you create them to a usb stick?
OH can you store them on Home Assistant Cloud?? 😮
Bask in the glory of easy backups
just don't forget to back up your encryption key separately.
Contact. I have to pay 60 euro for them. Oke they are like 35 on marktplaats.
Yeah I've got key on phone now haha for secure
Other than media, will all automation scripts be backed up too?
Everything, data for all your add-ons, historical data for your sensors, automations, configuration, scripts, etc
I've fully reinstalled ha and restored the backup and it was as though it were the exact same install
Is it my imagination or was there better response rate and discussion on support questions in the old format? So many topics have 0 followups.
I think its now more visible
Many questions also didn't get any answer in the old chats.
Because in the past all those 0 answer questions got overwhelmend by a lot of questions that did get answers
And now they still stick around and are visible
Should have a mix, forum format is good but I wouldn't really go wondering in there to offer support
Forum is good if you're not in a rush for help
Well, it's tech, Usually when I look for support it's because I'm in the middle of it
When it comes to advice of purchases then there is no rush
I see many support questions pop up here, I guess others get that impression too, but yeah @red rock was probably on the money. Just more visible now. It does feel like more effort though, but more organized. Wish they could be color coded with temperature chart of how well they've been dealt with.
I would also say that because the topics with low engagement are more visible, they're more likely to get attention. Those are the only ones I look at
When it's community focused, I like instant conversation main reason I joined the server ages ago as it was instant feedback, whether it was support or advice
Otherwise I'd of stayed on the forums, reddit etc..
Sounds like these forums are missing some business opportunity then
I'm used to the forums approach now on discord, but I did enjoy the "in the moment" support-style
Oops the reply moved on me...
But I also think that if you have a difficult question it would not get an answer any way
Yeah, that's true
what is the right channel to ask to to use locally home assistant with ssl instead of my apache proxy. In a way i dont have to manually copy ssl certs from one place to a other?
not yet thats the bet

Just some casual water cooler chat
You clearly have a T in your name. Obviously not a horse.

I think the main reasons things are unanswered is either 1. It's difficult and nobody knows 2. The question already has been answered a million times and its "another one"
Yeah, in my experience when I usually asked a question somebody would either answer it or point me in right direction whether it was a post or an old message in chat
I mean you can still do that, but now you have to do a little more effort in helping us helping you
And I know that there is a difference between a quick pointer and a whole question, but a lot of people don't
what all the fuss around deepseek?
so OpenAI is resting?
as this parrot?
resting?
Free, open source, and people seem to be really upset that it's China that did it.
yes they did, but they too are easily forgotten turning the chat into ye olde IRC again
Oh and they did it for less than 6mil.
Yep.
What's the conversion for 6mil money
waiting for HA Deepseek Integration
That'd clearly be #1284966540617449515
no need to Host Ollama just to turn on the light?
Cash moneys
I mean you don't need that now.
HA rely on Ai integrations for more complex AI commands
Not really.
Intents cover most things that people us AI for.
And if the AI doesn't recognize the command, it will fallback onto intents.
such as "my wife is coming home, set the lights"
Yeah, you can set up a sentence trigger automation for this without AI.
will it follow intent or AI to set the light if wife hasn't been added as a user in HA yet
I think (personal opinion) sentence triggers are highly underutilized.
Too rigid... Who's the machine now.
Investors worldwide stand to lose more than $1 trillion on Monday because of the sudden fear that the market-sustaining AI spending boom might have been for nothing.
lmfaoooooooooo
I am.
Autism does that.

Anyone else here play with SDR? Got the rtl-sdr dongle... found all the local TPMS sensors, some weather stations, and the neighbor's security system, and 5 bajillion utlility meters
I did get my acurite freezer sensors which is the real reason I set it up, but was surprised how much stuff was in range (once I put a cookie sheet under the antenna)
Only other bit that looks somewhat useful to me is getting temperature and humidity fromt he neighbors weather station... been trying to make an automation that factors in actual rainfall for the irrigation, but local weather makes it feel like a waste whe we have localized rain then the sprinklers run anyway
using those for aircraft tracking that is how I got into HAOS
bought a cheap chinese rtl-sdr dongle + rpi 4.
Hey y'all. Building a house right now, and will be doing all the home automation stuff on my own after the fact.
I did my old house almost entirely with Insteon, and I'm leaning Lutron RadioRA3 as a primary lighting & shade solution for this next one (my wife fell in love with Sunnata switches). Anyone here using RA3 with Home Assistant? Can you share your architecture, best practices, etc?
They expected innovation, duh. 😂
People realizing the Emperor has no clothes
Discord broke the reply but whatever
This whole situation is quite funny to me. lol
USA was passing bills in support of their Ally/master while LA fire was raging. and you except them to funnel money where it matter? matter matter
numbers are going down everywhere
no politics but this is contradicty news from CNN
pre-market they were... Cloudflare was down 5-6% (down at like $118/119!)
only
this is the time to buy stock in these... as DeepSeek will go the way of Tiktok within 15days
yes.... 25% tariff on deepSeek use
What is banned
TikTok was.
Oh
for about 2 seconds. I guess all the concerns that congresscritters had are no longer interesting
😂 is it even unavailable?
My favorite thing about that is the fact that the rest of the world realized how quiet it was without us.

now HA yellow with DeepSeek intergration will sell for 20K?
Enjoy the silence
with ban in place you can't access Tiktok with VPN ?
there's no ban
when there was
I don't think so. I saw some talks about it not being reliable.
I am not a TikTok user so I couldn't tell you.
we dont have a tiktok integration?
iPhone dont allow sideloading
that is why we love open-source
I was being facetious - it was a joke. 😄
I know. but seriously, we do have a Youtube integration but not TikTok integration.
tiktok video being played on Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition
I would be really curious to know how one would utilize that into their instance. TikTok is made to be interacted with and that's not really how HA functions.
I mean, it can be, but not in that sense.
Dinner is ready Tiktok video
“Jarvis, enable brain rot protocol”
Rhys would lose his mind if that was a command.
somone at the door... tiktok video
OH OH OH Do you think we'd be able to hack something through Android TV then???

"Don't use TikTok directly through Home Assistant. Instead, go through Google's data collection first to show you your video content via Android TV."
Look guys I am the best at marketing
For the love of god can we stop talking about tiktok
you must request that in dance form
like The Frame TV, but with Tik Tok. I think that's a level of hell
maybe the chinese will run over to tiktok now that americans invade rednote
how dare people talk to people, lmao
I am okay with talking to people.
It's when they try to talk to me that I am annoyed.
haha
do they talk on tiktok?
that's why I lilke my cats
Where do i go for support on factory restting my HA?
It says I need a tag to post?
Do I have to wait for a moderator to reveiw myself joing
Should small questions about integrations go here?
You can select tags on your post, read the tag guidelines
NO
Small questions can be asked in relevant community channels, but not in here. If it's a larger support question, you will likely be redirected to the support channels. 🙂
The only support we offer in here is mental health support.
Could use some of that after working with YAML
To be honest I am absolutely amazed at the progress since I last gave HA a shot
2017 Home Assistant was a different breed
It sure was! I started things back up last year after not touching it since 2021.
And then 2024 was the year of refreshing everything - so much was simplified over several months.
LOL try intent sentences...
sentence: How([']s| is| does) the day [look[ing]]
sentence_template: '[activate] <area> <name> [scene]'
🙄
Starting in March last year and then continuing again in September was interesting, but I also think my knowledge on HA grew enough that things weren't so confusing anymore.
Stupid learning curve is still there.
I was pleasantly surprised after 7 years of not using it at all
Only lights were a bit confusing at first, having to use scenes to get nice lighting conditions is strange to me
The lights were where I struggled because they are Tuya. And there are like 1380765230123 different integrations for it.
Gotta get that CCP espionage material in there
I'm not impressed with any smart lighting stuff on the market right now anyway
Absolutely. They can't do much worse than American companies.
Who came up with wireless being the main communication channel for smart homes?!!
You either have to go super expensive or super cheap. There's like no good way around it. And Matter is starting to come into the picture now.
But even super expensive sucks
I got to set up an entire house of Philips Hue stuff
Great but the power consumption is gobsmacking
All hail WLED but same problem
The next place I live in I will ask to see some electrical wiring to make sure I can do smart switches instead of the lights.

I got something better 😏
Show up to the open home with a screwdriver and just start removing light switches
Currently developing RGBWW lights that get power and data over CAT ethernet cable
OOOH
Unless you ain't got a neutral, theoretically it works but in practice no neutral switches are often meh IMO
But it does raise the question
Why can't you now?
Even at switches? interesting
First and probably last time I've been impressed with US electrical code lol
Now if only they can catch up to what most of the rest of the world did 20+ years ago and mandate half-insulated pins on mains plugs so you can't touch them if they're hanging halfway out of the outlet
Not to mention RCD's....
Great for devices without ground
We shouldn't complain with our freaky mix of CEE7/5 and CEE7/4
Also while we're at it, what's with US power/lighting hardware having the terminals ON THE SIDE where they're exposed when you remove the plate, and using freaking slotted screws?
And ugly-ass faceplates also held on with slotted screws
The plug design is great, just cover the first half of the pins on the device side so it CAN'T happen, and issue whole house RCD's and plastic breaker panels while you're at it!
You’d think so but no.
This house which was built in 2001 has some awful electrical.
Can I ask questions about scenes here since it isn't really installation related?
None of the wires are labeled in the gangs, some breakers in the house have 3 rooms on them.
Technically that’s a #1284965988642590891 thing.
Oh wait no, automations.
Sounds like a standard installation for Europe. Is it code to label wires?
I KNOW THIS PRODUCT I PROMISE
Alright fair enough
No but it makes it easier on me.
😂
I fully agree but it sounds standard to me
lmao. My house was built in 2016 and it had a bunch of code violations
I have an electrician friend who I can have come look at things for me, I just haven’t yet.
My house has a lot of things that were legal when they were installed, but not anymore
If I want to change them, I have to completely fix them and not just bodge what's there
in my case, every switch had both the side screws and the rear solid wire ports.. they wired to the ports, and left every screw all the way extended.. so there were plenty of live unshielded screw heads very close to each other
Nice
(code says if they don't use the screws, they have to be tightened down, but that was never done)
Even after re-doing everything, I still have one switch I can't find what it controls, lmao
nah.. the attic light has its own switch
There's these wire finder thingies that inject a square wave onto the lines and then a detector can follow the wire
Might be useful for you
neat! I'll have to check that out
IMO low voltage-DC ALL the things
called efficiency
USB-C is the greatest invention of mankind since fire
BUT THAT MAKES ME WORRY
😂
Fuck, I hate that standard practice is "whatever works".
I am guessing the switch is a separate toggle for the ceiling fan/light combo in the living room, and they just wired both to one of the switches, since the unit that's there has a remote, then just.. capped off the other without removing the switch, maybe
Some of this shit makes the "problems" I have seem pretty minor. Wires in our normal mains cable here in NZ are red/black/green. It used to be okay to use that same cable for the likes of 2-way light circuits, with a red sleeve around the wires you'd "converted", but these days you're required to use cable with a yellow jacket instead of white, with red/white/blue cores.
Sounds very plausible. More smart switch space 🤷♂️
well we went all color coded too.. thank god for grandfathered
Honestly sleeving wire is OK with me. intent is very clear and its hard to miss
my grandfather's house had per-room 240v electric heaters. He wired it 35 years ago using standard romex, which has two insulated leads (black and white), and an uninsulated ground.. he used the black and white for the two hots, and the uninsulated ground for neutral 🙃
There is something wrong with our ceiling lights in the kitchen because they keep popping bulbs. I looked up the sleeves for the lights to get the correctly rated bulb for them and I still have a fucking light bulb that flickers like it's about to go out. It's maddening.
I want to shake whoever did the electrical.
Is it a 12V bulb??
Worst I saw was a hallway light, flipped the main breaker off, flicked the switch and wouldn't you know it? Hallway light casually turns on
FREE ENERGY
The problem arises when people half-arse it. I found this junction box half-buried in the garden mid-way up the stairs from our house to our garage (which has a string of lights on a 2-way circuit). Behold, cowboy nonsense (one of these cables is the switch circuit, one is the lights, tape is only indication which is which):
like 99% of electrical problems are caused by morons doing the installation
Backward like P/N swapped?
That wasn't something listed in the product information I found for the light sleeves, but this is what I bought based on its BR30 rating. https://www.homedepot.com/p/65-Watt-Equivalent-BR30-Dimmable-Flood-LED-Light-Bulb-Soft-White-12-Pack-A20BR3065WULD12/322629665
fml
lol
Home depot is too good for Europeans, Access denied for me 😢
wow wtf lol
Ah yes, the "we think this is good enough for GDPR compliance" special
What's the brand on those?
Just don't show your website to Europeans at all
Uh off brand? I legitimately don't see it on the listing but the warranty info goes to ecosmart.
I'd say those are to blame likely
If the fitting doesn't let them breathe youll get failures VERY quick
It's worse with others.
It's definitely store brand, if you enlarge the picture it says "65-Watt Equivalent BR30 Dimmable Flood LED Light Bulb Soft White (12-Pack) by PRIVATE BRAND UNBRANDED"
None have covers.
Interesting
These lights have been way more stable than anything else I've bought.
You really got some messed up wiring then
why they make testers
Is there maybe like some CFL ballast or whatever in the fitting?
It's a stretch for a BR30 size

It took me forever to find enough information on one of the fittings to figure out a brand for them - painters have just straight up sprayed up into these when painting the ceiling and all the product details are painted over.

Gotta love the landlord special
There are a lot of problems in this house but we are slowly fixing them (and taking stuff off rent to balance things).
That's why you buy
When you're a casual multimillionair
I fucking should, lmfao.
I have a preteen child, though, so I suppose I should be slightly responsible.
Sonoma, I would be very surprised if you had procreated. Not that someone wouldn't with you, just that you do not seem like a parent type.
weird apple ad right there
you don't think people shouldn't defend their property from squatters?
no

No no, I absolutely agree that they should have that right. But also I'll sit in your vacation home until you notice.
although that .gif works for that as well. at least my friends with kids would get it lol
I have a farm house that vacant.. squatters is a real concern and something I've already had to think about a solution for
and I posted that solution haha
Oh, willing to rent it out to someone cheap? 👀
Is it this?

Happy nap time to one and all
I literally did this when we were home shopping.
Irrisponsibility (I aint spellin that right) is only what you define so 🤷♂️
I don't think so
at least that is not a problem where i live. no l/n distinction here. it is ac after all. so we just have l1/l2. 🙂
Oh gods I don't even know all that for mine!
D:
D: D: D:

Now it is lol.
It's killing 2 birds with 1 stone for us - my kid isn't a problem anymore and he gets to feel like he protected his property!
-# For legal reasons, this is a joke.
so when a squatter moves into your home, changes your locks and dosen't let you back in and remain homeless for the months it takes to evict them you'll be happy?
-# Y'all would find out about my morbid sense of humor eventually...
That's a VERY biased view on that law lol. Squatting should be done MUCH more on abandoned buildings. Or a land value tax. Either of the two is great for me.
real world news shows diffrent lol
And look at the other side, more properties in use means lower property prices
Depends where you're from. Nothing like that really ever happens here
incorrect
Nope 🙂
I have a quick question about espHome.
Does esp home require a “hub” of any sorts? Aka an esp device that’s set up to connect additional devices? I get the feeling that it is, but that hub is the home assistant addon, not an additional piece of hardware.
I’m not great with words. If you can understand my question, could you shed light on the subject for me?
don't try to argue with Sonoma. He is notoriously ignorant. Just a warning
vacant buildings lower property taxes, not filling them lol
Fair enough, So am I XD
oh I guess i'm talking with the young
Hey now, Sonoma is just our Grumpy Uncle.
lower property prices ≠ lower property taxes
property taxes, I wasn't talking about property prices. If half of Chicago is abandoned, housing stock is limited. If that half is actively lived in the prices WILL go down. Supply and demand man
Increase supply is all you need
