Different stokes I guess. UEFI, TPM 2.0, I'm not putting windows on Rpis, ever. Doing Biometrics, etc. Out the door, even at highest spec $120 now. Cheap SD just to write BIOS, nvme does real work, $15 case, and $15 PS. Not a bad* value prop for ~$200 usd. I know, the ram, etc. But, if HA doesn't work out...? I dunno, I'll turn it into a Steam remote play client or something.

I could put my Stallman hat on, and talk about UEFI, TPM, but meh. What I DO care about, is UEFI/TPM in virtualized servers. I still haven't tried getting Win11 on Proxmox hehe.

UEFI and Win11 is just weirrrrd to me? Like, Average recent Lenovo Laptop. Swap nvme drives. Going from 1tb to 4tb. Use a disk clone like Macrium, or even dd/gparted/etc. External nvme dock, etc. Should be smooth sailing?

"Cannot find boot device" uhhhh hookay... i reboot the thing like 5 times, and magically, it's working. Reminds me of the crowdstrike debacle. After I think 10 reboots/panics, Win11 disables all extensions, and thus kicked the bad Crowdstrike code out. Boom, back to a stable system.

Treating anything as a single-purpose device is the issue. Not the device itself. Even if you're using HAOS, you'll want addons, right? And if not HAOS, it's so easy to run other apps alongside.

I have maybe a dozen containers running on this and it doesn't break a sweat. I don't need more power for anything.

Ok, gotcha. If it were me, I'd probably still try to find a non-ML way to do that. Aren't you essentially trying to say that if the skydome is made up of a grid of cells, each cell has some amount of shading, and the sun's current position will always be in one of those cells?

Mapping that grid out should be a one-time job. Only the position of the sun varies over time, and is a math problem.

Ah. So if the sun is due south, 60 degrees elevated, you'd still need clear skies to know what the real shade is. Any amount of cloud and the shade values for that position of the sun is incorrect. Is that what you're trying to solve?

It sounds like you just need to arrange for perfect weather for 365 days to map out the shade with clear sky positions.

I need to build a mathematical model of shading loss. I know the inputs are solar azimuth and solar zenith. To decouple shading losses from other system losses would require clear sky days yes. Which are plenty in summer, but less common in winter. The challenge is that in winter you suffer most from shading, as the sun is lower. Some objects may not even enter the panel FOV in the summer. 3D modelling is not feasible, so somehow all of this has to be learned from data
