Ok after some hours with the voice assistant hardware I can say that they have to improve the speaker. The quality is pretty crappy even for voice command answers. Second there must be an option to disable the led stuff. In daily usage it feels just cheap. And from a hardware point of view they have to improve the industrial design. It looks and feels like a toy. Side by side with a simple home mini it looks and feels cheap.

But I'm stoked that there is finally a official hardware device.

@lone dagger Yeah well I know that it is advertised like that. But the speakers have to be better in a v2 product. No one wants to add an additional speaker on multiple satellites. They have to sound decent. My wife already hates the distorted crappy sound. With the led ring I meant to have it completely off. Perhaps just a soft feedback while listening but right now on default it looks like a cheap toy that shoots the Leda in your face. Especially when using it in the dark.

And by the way this should not be criticism. I love the voice pipeline especially when adding gemini or open Ai to the mix.

Fuck Windows. They’re actively anti-consumer.

I’m using this because it’s the only the device in the house that can run what I want, I don’t need W11 updates to do that. Updates often mean that I have to turn off 3-10 things they decided to enable again. It’s just so bothersome.

Well, I can't beleive that what I needed is even remotely the slightest bit complicated.. Delay a node red flow by a time set in a input number helper.. This can't be that complicated.. But this has turned out to be the MOST difficult problem to resolve for me..

I have not yet figures out how other than to call another automation, after another automation. Meaning your right. Not not visual. When I need to change something, it would take me forever to find it. In node red, everything is right there. Except Node Red can't seem to wait for N seconds!

You just setup all of those things as triggers, with a trigger id configured for each. Then you use a choose action where each choice uses a trigger id as a condition plus anything else you want to add. #1284980040940912641 can definitely help if you ask about doing this.

Those, are all set up. I have automations that contain not less then 30 or 40 nodes.. All done. Took less time to set up then "Wait N seconds" in node red.

I think this is the proper place to find out, how I can make a patch and get some support for having it included in one of the upcoming releases. It is front-end related and the goal is to have the hardcoded "Roboto" font removed and replaced by the standard CSS variables, so it will be easier to have a custom font HA-wide applied. I'm back now to Google Home devices for voice assistance. The HA assistant is simply not usable for the daily life. The error rate is plain and simple too high. I've played with different gemini and open ai models as well but nothing comes near the low error rate of the Google assistant.
And yeah the intent system is nice but without further work on the sentences (in German) it has an error rate higher than 20%.
The wife acceptance factor is pretty bad at the current state. 😄

Hi, new to this server. I don't know where to post. I have two questions:

  1. Can Denon HEOS speakers be used with HomeAssistant (or in general) without creating Denon account and using HEOS app?
  2. What options are there for wifi speakers that do NOT require an account to be created and internet connection?

I will not buy any wifi speakers that require an account and internet connection. If I have to go for open source then so be it but for now I would like to hear what people know. It is difficult to get information from the companies themselves.
