it was last scanned pretty close to me and usps does deliver on sundays so if it don't magically show up by then it's a pretty good indicator it's gone lol
I feel kinda bad because I complained to the seller yesterday and he already sent a replacement
It's sitting at the acceptance point
well the postal service reimburses them so it's like free sales to a degree lol
Not if they eventually deliver it
guess that would depend what year it gets delivered lol
They just conveniently don't ever consider it lost 🙂
ETA: In the fullness of time ...
postal service should just stop offering the ability to deliver anything other than an envelope
within my lifetime I have witnessed them getting cut off at the knees several times both in regulations and funding
so there is noway it can keep up
is that 13.54 SEK? thats like 1 euro / kWh?
so far we have lost every usps claim, especially when marked "delivered" aka they said they scanned it in but never arrived
well except the claim i filed last week where i took a screenshot of me writing in a notepad.txt telling them this is bullshit and to please email me (i submitted it as photo evidence so a real person looked at it)
they stiffed you?
basically we will just pay the $4 to have you ship it back or offer to let you pay us and keep it if the original shows up
time to move away from usps
i'd rather pay extra at this point then even deal with usps
it's the only cheap option we have and dont have a ton of issues but when we do our premium insurance per package doesnt seem to get very far
we just got rid of OrangeDS cuz some EU folks picked the cheapest option then it took 30+ business days to get there and lots of lost claims so finally got rid of it
well stick with them during no holiday months and someone else during holiday months lol
I've seen plenty of complaint posts of lost packages around the holidays dealing with usps over the past several years but this is the very first year I've ever had any lost coming to me and I feel like it's making up for my past good luck in a single year now lol
the irony of amazon boosting how effective they have become delivering packages during these times
maybe amazon should take over lol
we technically have an amazon store but only msr-2 and 30% higher marked up cuz of 30% amazon cut
one of the "amazon influencers" got an msr-2 for free from amazon then they left a 1 star review saying it doesnt work with their smart home...
"smart home"
wtf
like i guess amazon influencers can pick things for amazon to send them for free to do a sponsored review on or whatever
still lol
vine or whatever that is
my friend in NJ is on that
allowed up to like $600 a year in free stuff without ever having to pay taxes or anything
hopefully this tree still makes it. i mean it is somewhere in KC afterall
progress yo
It is 13.54 öre, so 0.1354 NOK
But he lives with polarbears and reindeer
english please
I don't know how they get the polar bears to run on treadmills
I assume that's the secret to energy generation in the arctic
is that the real cause of them dying out? strokes while on treadmills?
Gotta fatten them up so they can generate electricity over the winter
No, øre == 100th of a krone

Time to get mad at troubleshooting Tuya.
It would be better if you fixed it, instead of getting mad at it
by fix.. throw away
I think I may just need to accept that I cannot get their scenes to work and just use them as if they were dumb lights. But I’m stubborn and bought them for the RGB.
DO MY BIDDING

I mean, you paid for 16.7M colours, of course you want them all
Yeah.
Tyvm
#botspam
See you there then, I guess Missy 🤣

I’ll get there eventually. I need to do more troubleshooting by myself first. I’m not done yet. But no one likes helping with Tuya stuff - I’m well aware I’m mostly on my own now. But if there’s a bug here I want to get it reported properly.

I think I will just have to make a work around, a bit like you might have to
Yep. But workarounds are complicated. Often need templates.
Templates are confusing af for me.
Same
Can't even add it
Just fails
Yeah, mine is for a dehumidifier, so I would need to make a whole "framework" for how it should run
There are several different integrations for Tuya. The core version is subpar imho.
The one I’m using now has the best flexibility so far, but there is something broken with effects.
It normally is set to 55% rh, so it goes and sleeps (turned on) and runs the fan every once in a while to see if it is above 55% and if it starts.
Atm it is 39% rh there.
As soon as I add tuya to ha, the fan runs 24/7 and I guess the actual dehumidifing bit will cycle on and off.
tuyaconvert?
I just can’t figure out what…
Oh, I didn't realise there were different ones
There’s at least a dozen from what I’ve been told. I’ve worked with 3.
The tuya app acts exactly as intended, so it isn't between that and the actual unit, I think it is how it is presented to HA
Tuya Zigbee is fine
Wifi stuff is fine if it can be flashed
If not, it goes in the bin
I dunno if this can be flashed.
Oh yeah, I was downloading pictures from OneDrive to delete.
i had a pair of Lumary controllers which were tuya. couldn't get them to flash so away they went
I just realised I am on 2024.3.3 wowzers
Racoons hibernate for 9 months
I was on 0.96.5 before that
Checks out
So please don't judge
Lazyness
Nah, I will absolutely judge you.
It is okay

lazyness?
Instead of updating it, and debian 11, and such, I am just reinstalling it all on a new machine
if its HAOS its 1 button, if its a container... it could be 1 button too depending on how you run it
We met a lot of people at GitHub Universe who haven't touched their HA in well over a year.
If it works why touch it
that really shouldn't be a shock
I didn't say it was. 😄
I just stated a fact of our trip.
It is just a single line to update docker compose, so there is no excuse really
my farm instance never changes in terms of me messing with it.. so there should be real no point updating it every single month
Apart from hibernation ofc
I'm also lazy and do things that many of you would frown upon......(auto update containers 😛 )
Disgusting
but I also back up stuff every 2 days and keep it for a month
Only a month?
lol backup
But then I realised that I was running debian 11 and I wanted a machine to lab on, so I grabbed (today) a new blue iris box, will move the old one to debian 12 for home assistant and other dockers
I keep 4 years of zfs snapshots
buckups are for the weak
For containers only a month, because hopefully if I break something that bad I discover it within a few days 🙂
Lab machine might end up being a minecraft server though
Basically this, but for computers
I just clicked update while switching off that backup option.
btw, anyone else getting daily Bubble and Frigate card updates? Kinda wish they would just do a bigger release lol, I have this obsession of having no notifcations/skips
Kinda the same attitude i have with containers
your one line?
I'm risk averse
One of these days I will regret not having a back up, I am sure.
Right now, all of my shit is pretty easy to set back up.
Just annoying if I have to do that.
You don't need backups until you need backups
Except these Tuya lights.
I do backups of the os every once in a blue moon
Just do what I did when my virtual machine got corrupted and i realized my backup wasn't working.... start all over with a new challange(I went with containers versus HAOS)
i'm not THAT crazy
Like insurance for when your house catches fire
"WTH can't I backup just my tuya config"
WTH can't I just nuke all tuya devices with a single button
technobrat is my new ChatGPT for WTH posts.
Just get a big EMP, you can nuke everything! Not just tuya
When skynet finally comes and your house is full of tuya stuff guess who dies first?
I only have 2 and they are outside.
I think I am safe.
For now.
If I had smart locks I would probably be more worried.
They are on thier own vlan right?
Door unlocks itself and lets the lights in to choke us.
EMP the WiFi enabled fridge, which has been part of the botnet for a few years
Kind of. They are on an extender connected to the AP.
the irony in an official employee actually using tuya to begin with
You know Franck is the maintainer for the core integration, right?
Somebody had to pick it up when Tuya abandoned it, right?
lol
Did Tuya used to support it???
I thought there was a bunch of excitement that they were working closely with NC and then just dropped the ball
I think they wrote the integration, or provided something
I vaguely remember something on that
was before they rewrote thier api and gave access
tuya dosen't seem quite as wide spread these days as they use too
I was noticing that! Two line code change, time for a new release! lol
There are still 25% of users sharing analytics using the Core version.
sure there are still tons of stuff out there under diffrent brand names using it but when I go hunting I don't feel flooded with them like I use to in the past
I don't even know what version of Tuya integration I use, I just know its web based and it works for the most part lol
"the most part" lol
I don't use it for anything critical.... rgb outside lights and a really cheap floor robot for the basement that runs when I remember about it
rgb lights are critical
The robot just bounces off of things too, its like pinball
I would consider that second part but afraid the super cheap floor robots wouldn't suck up cat litter as well as I would like
its downstairs because it went down the stairs 1 to many times
We live in a split level house
Ours picks it up well, but we also have a Roborock designed to pick up pet messes.
whenever someone makes a robot vacuum that can handle cleaning stairs, they'll make a fortune
yea and that don't sound "cheap" to me lol
Honestly I haven't had many issues with Tuya just using the zigbee devices via ZHA. They're cheap, sure, but basic sensors and such seem to work fine. I'd never touch their wifi products though.
I think I bought this on sale and it was $300? Maybe. I don't remember. lol
I do have some zigbee tuya RGB light controllers but they work just fine and are completely stable
zigbee tuya is ok, noone is saying those arent.. the exception to the rule lol
I'm bad about remembering to do things, so I just have HA kick off my vacuums (1 for each floor) every other day.. It's been pretty good at getting me to keep things picked up
I wish mine were Zigbee now.
I have a few zigbee tuya stuff and they work perfectly fine
Other than their solar rain sensor. That thing was a POS and hasn't been detected in over a month.
Q5 pro? :D
Yep!
yee! That's what I have.. works great!
It's only $140 right now! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C7VLHMQR
(the "pets" are my housemates, who all have long hair lol)
The rubber brushes are
can't justify 140 for a small basement with concrete floor just for sucking up tracked cat litter as the terrors evacuate the vicinity
Ah, yeah, mine is for my home.
I've got two Roborock 6;s
Bought them in mid 2020 during Covid. Great sales. Batteries now nothing like where they were. Definitely an advancement from the Bissel/iRobot ones (trash) we had in the past. We still have them and they definitely "do their job" well
I know they have 8s now? 9s? I don't even know
Have one per floor and.. if you don't own one: They won't do a deep clean or anything close; it's not a big 15a normal vacuum.
However, once you get into a routine running them? It definitely gets the stuff you normally would have to get weekly or bi-weekly with a vacuum.
It takes you from about a 5 on vacuuming down to a 2 or 2.5. It saves some work. It helps between deep cleans.
We have two cats
I got the Q5 for upstairs to try out, then my housemate spent way too much on an S8 max, since everything downstairs is hard floors and they wanted the auto mopping ability. It's neat! but $1800 for a vacuum/mop is a bit spendy for me, lol
Anyone want to second check a simple automation for me, still learning, switched from NodeRed when I had my event 😛
no!
You're a regular. I've seen you rant about people asking for support in here.
You should know better 😉
So does everyone else. And it'd be a shitshow if they all did it here.
Honestly I feel sometimes like just leaning into it and renaming this channel #memes-and-shitposting would achieve a better outcome
We already have #memes, so this would only be #shitposting then
I'm good with that
But there is no mental support in shitposting.
lol
Some would call it therapy...
We also learned yesterday that the water cooler is spiked with Vodka so...
Well..... we were talking about DSM and ICD10 yesterday
Oh, that's the mental support.
well shitposting in itself could be considered mental support if you really think about it
This is after the seashells?
Definately before....
I gotta rewatch that movie, it's been decades
Edit: It's Demolition Man (1993) for those who don't recognize the memes
Or Judge Dredd.
We're closer to 2032 than to 1993 now...
yeah.... ever seen the worlds fair from the 50s?
Or if you have a link you know contains the good pics, please share to spare me the searching 🙂
They thought we'd have flying cars and all sorts of fun technology, all we really have are lights that turn on when we go into the bathroom and an AI that gives people extra arms
Ah, you mean the general futuristic optimism, not something specific to the 1950 fair.
the flying cars thing seems to be the biggest disappoint. it's brought up a lot over the years lol
technically we do have them
I wouldn't want one, tbf. I can barely get mechanics for my non-flying car that can change more than a tyre.
just not in the vision they were given back then
"laws of physics" and small details like that.
yea, I think it was magnetics or something they were saying it was going to be
basically the flubber car
I vaguely remember being 6-ish and "inventing" flying cars by strapping a big'ol magnet on a pole to the top the car😅
the irony of how much more innovative people were on that subject back then vs now.
they made all kinds of cool vehicles back then
not just flying stuff
I mean, the rules and regulations we have now help safety so I can't be 100% against them.
yea stifled progression lol
But yeah, there were jet powered cars, for darn sakes
yup instead we shifted towards investing trillions into ai and this is what we got from it
That's the "baby drawing" part of its development, the current models are way scarier in their accuracy.
I can't say anything bad about the concept of AI in theory, we already offload more and more of our brain effort to devices
But just like what you said about innovation in cars settling down from the "wild west" years because of regulations, it's gonna take time for the rules to be ironed out for AI too.
Don't worry. I'll replace all the mods with this. https://www.artisanai.me/
Hi, random question does anyone know if Everything Presence Zone Configurator will end up working with athom sensors? if not, does anyone know of anything similar to it?
that site refuses to load for me.. you sure you didn't just infect yourself? lol
Their Discord might know
Water cooler says 🤷
oh i didn't know they had their own discord but makes sense that they would. Thank you
Me neither, but I clicked on the first search engine result instead of the above link -- I think the site is down.
Missy broke it.. good job
The AI employees unionized?
Must be ran by tuya
Dystopia: Achieved
I'll accept a world run by AI overlords just as soon as they accept UBI for the humans.
For that to work, you’d have to increase corporate tax relative to income tax since less people will have jobs… I have a funny feeling that’s not where we’re headed.
I mean, sounds good to me, but yeaaaaah...
These ads are all over the Bay Area too
The center artisan really looks like a villain in a sitcom
Yeah, that’s how I found it, my husband saw it on Reddit and I was like “yeah that’s in SF.”

😭
We live in a wild time.
you mean like how united health care uses AI to wrongly decline a large percentage of claims(that being said I don't blame AI, I blame programmers)
I blame the PMs.
I don't blame programmers, I blame the people telling programmers what the program requirements are.
@forest edge yep it's 70 in LA 😀
Who probably blame the execs.
I agree with that
It’s a combination of a lot of things.
Who blame the board. Who blame the shareholders
bu tyou get the jist, its not really AI
But it’s mostly poor decisions and terrible training data.
Shareholder value?
Yes it can really be boiled down to that. Shortcuts are often taken because of that.
I think people are told to blame AI but I is just doing what its setup to do
interesting.. you should be able to use this with any LD2450
AI isn't sentient..... yet
AI isn't AI yet.
The thing that’s so weird about public companies is the shareholder value concept. As if user value weighed against cost of production wasn’t enough… you can have a “stable” private company that makes enough money to pay its people and delivers value without a “growth” requirement, but you can’t really do then when public. Well, you can if you offer large dividends, but companies don’t.
We have the largest private company in the world in Minnesota, they treat their employees well and their owners make massive $$
Maybe not worlds, but definately US
I fear the day Valve ends up in the hands of someone who makes it public.
Cargil
Needs to go public
I'm in Nevada. Our private companies are mostly casinos and brothels.
(okay, there are a ton more, but who's counting?)
those are the only ones that matter
Exactly
I tell everyone who asks that my favorite thing about working at NC is that we don't answer to investors or VCs. There is a huge freedom we get with that.
Nabucasa
Yeah I know, took me a second
"Okay Nabu, fire zee missiles!"
Hmmm wonder if that means my subscription means I pay part of Missy's salary.....
I have missy on trail
Now I kinda want a foam dart launcher integration for HA.
That makes me wonder if I could get frigate to identify deer and then turn on a sprinkler when they are in my garden if I put a camera there....
or heck zones within frigate to turn on specifci sprinklers for different garden beds...
The Frigate+ model supports deer
I'm looking forward to facial recognition being built into Frigate btw, I thought I read somewhere that was in the works
I'd definately pay money for that
Note: feature only enabled if you agree to uploading hilarious videos from it.
To recognize specific deer?
If that was in response to my comment, sorry I went off on a tangent
What? No one goes off on tangents here. Never.
I just figured that you had a vendetta against one deer
D fot deeretta
now I'm curious if there is a wifi solor powered camera that doesn't suck that works with Frigate
There are YouTube videos of people making squirrel eject mechanisms for their yards, could probably do one for voles with the right bait.
I'd imagine you'd be better off setting up solar power separately rather than attempting to find a decent camera with solar.
I was just thinking that too
get a 17 volt panel and a 12 volt battery
Anyone know what distance PoE usually works over?
Never looked into max length on it.
Nevermind, looked it up, 100m.
I have a no-name PoE security camera setup that I've never actually taken out of the box, because the house is large and running cable is a pain. Could probably manage with longer cables though.
5Ghz wifi cameras are generally pretty solid.. just throwing that out there
I have a bit of trouble with my doorbell camera, but the exterior cladding of the house is aluminium, and the closest places where I could put access points doesn't make for the most amazing coverage
Still works fine, but it complains about the signal strength
mine sits between a bay window and a steel door with a security glass door infront of it. but the access point is within the room on the other side of the wall
i got a fancy new doorbell cam with the secondary package cam
I spy Hue
I had the same issue because I have stucco, so there is chicken wire underneith acting like a Faraday cage. Switched to a PoE doorbell instead.
eufy or uni-🤢 -fy?
That is 100% the unifi interface
I will say when they first dropped that doorbell with the screen it looked cool
are you asking if im using a chinese company's hardware or usa hardware?
i prefer the NSA having a backdoor over the CCP
its all the same in the end really
i like my unifi silver
where else do you think the CCP get most of thier information?
I want no one to have my information. Except nabu casa anyway, I actually enabled telemetry in HA.
Honestly, I'm wary of even having wifi-based devices, other than things that have to be, like modern TVs.
Smart device wise, that is.
why? your cell phone which holds most if not all of your most crucial information is and noway around it lol
I run a rooted phone with a bunch of crap blocked. It may be hopeless, but that won't stop me trying.
I got a vpn on my phone to my home network and then a vpn to the internet
I have a VPN on my phone to the internet, a VPN on my home network to the internet, and an SSH connection backward over said VPN to my home network because I can't get a static IP over starlink.
Ddns helps.
I mean, I need to set up something for my HA outside the house, but for now I've been content with using the VPN to access my home network.
What's up with the drone invasions lol
Drone invasions?
Bizarre stories
Did I break my DNS?
depends can you ping smarthomesellout.com?
I've been messing around with a container for caching game's since we have 3 PC's and 2 steam decks in the house, and I'm now double DNSed, Adguard to Lanache to 8.8.8.8 and discord went goofy for a bit, but it seems to be back
it basically intercepts steam servers and downloads it to my NAS instead
ye
HD's are cheap, NVME's are not
unraid server?
I run mealie too, it was my wife's christmas present along with a mounted tablet in the ktichen
whats adguard homesync do? update rules?
i live alone i couldnt benefit from an ERP so i dont really use it lol
adguardhome sync will sync multiple adguard home instance's configs yo
Have you upgraded to the 7.0 RC1?
I was running beta 4 previously, its nice
I just upgraded to a 13600k as it was on sale on amazon for black friday, spent about 350 dollars on a new setup, my payoff time will be about 3 years over my 5700x in just electricity, and I gained IGPU transcoding for emby
god no
i have an extra box for that but i booted it up a month ago and the btrfs pool corrupted so i just shut it down and said goodnight.. that's a 2025 me problem

you want from amd to intel? blasphemy
for a gaming PC?
Okay. petro helped me out significantly. My lights almost fully work.
That’s almost awesome!
Unraid server.
With Tuya, that's pretty much a walk off grand slam
First Intel chip since a 4790k 🙂
Everything else is AMD, 2 7800x3ds and a 3800x, going to updating one of the 7800s to a 9800 and the 3800 will get donated
hardware wise that chip is barely an upgrade, so its only for the igpu?
Honestly it's for the idle performance and single thread, plus I donated existing setup to a local non profit
Who's gonna to use it as a flight simulator box
Old setup idled around 110-120 watts new setup idled around 50
Plus it transcodes frigate and emby on a igpu instead of my 1050ti
that's not cpu. you had a gpu in the old system?
If I have to run gpu to do the same thing an igpu will do then I must consider both when talking about power draw
Either way the gpu/cpu is going to help some kids too, so I don't mind the side grade
My gaming PC is still running a 2500K from 11 years ago. I’m promising to reward myself with an upgrade once my kids go to public school and I have a little bit more money and time. I haven’t been keeping track of where Intel and AMD sit lately though. My PC before this was a first gen amd64.
I’ve been drawn to AMD, but the are there other reasons to lean towards Intel lately, other than their iGPU?
no
AMD/Radeon has always been kind of finicky under certain circumstances in the past. Dealing with Radeon issues alone left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Not something I have ever had to deal with a single time using intel/nvidia
AMD is now a different company from what people remember
I agree I'm running a 7900xtx its been a decent card, especially now that FSR 3 is out
yeah I went back to AMD in like 2016 on my most recent build - not video
last year, I did a 7900x, 64gb ddr5 and a 3090fe. Screamin ML machine. Didn't even check intel's offerings at the time
I'm running a 7800x3d/7900xtx setup, but its gaming.
I basically built a gaming rig to have a badass workstation
hello i got a newbie question not sure where to drop it. I am new to coding, i am coding on vscode using python and run it through docker.
I guess i build the code in python then move to docker? or how does this work exactly im sorry for my lack of knowledge
It's not clear what you're trying to do
OMG, I've been living in the stone ages and didn't even know it..... my drop from my switch to my desktop had dropped to 100mbit connection,
If you're developing something for Home Assistant, https://developers.home-assistant.io/
yeah im so new to this im sorry.
I am trying to develop home assistant.
i am just trying to make sure while i follow these videos / articles i am coding in the right spot and not have to re write something. i dont know exactly how docker works.
Just follow the instructions there
if you didn't know it then whats the issue? other than maybe you are paying too much for faster internet? lol
meh I only have 120mbit internet
so wouldn't have noticed it 🙂
But I installed a cacheing software for steam since now that steam family sharing makes more sense, I just had it download all our games to my NAS, but I really confused when my install was going at 12MB a second lol
I hope at least one drone had speakers playing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE03Lqm3nbI 🤣

funny harmless menacing with drones. 😛
on a total tangent, managed 2.5G switches really have come down in price
yeah I'm not to the point of needing full switches yet..
building my new media server/home server/NAS right now.. aliexpress motherboard (one of the ones that slaps a modern 14th gen on a regular mainboard) + truenas scale probably + a 10g card to uplink directly to my desktop probably..
me either, but just looking at prices, I'd be totally fine with a 2.5 unmanaged switch, but it was more of an observation
aliexpress speciall.. dual port 10g cards got them for like.. 15$/ea
RJ45; but good enough for short runs in my house.
I'm just going to put a SFP 10gig card in my unraid box and then have it serve the switch thats like 4 feet from it and then 2.5g through out the hose since its all Cat6a(I think or is it 6 I forget)
meh, either will handle 10g even for short (relatively speaking) links assuming you didn't ham-fist terminations.
😄
so 2.5g should be fine
but.. anyways..
Time to throw together a basic 3d model of the motherboard so I have soemthing to work around in fusion....
🤔
.. also need to do some chopping and soldering of these miniSAS breakout cables because having these giant molex 4pin plugs is stupid on each..
then maybe see if I can maybe hack my motherboard's bios to get bifurcation going so I can use that 16x fully instead of just half utilized with the 9300-16i card.
The only reason I'd even consider going 2.5g is if I ever get my 2g fiber, then it would make sense, but for 99% of my stuff 1G works just fine and apparenntly 100m works for my desktop.... :/
not a whole lot of cases where above 1G is really warranted currently. Sure downloading games, streaming multiple 4k and big file work/pleasure related stuff but other than that.. nope
I'm not even sure I would say above 1g is needed for 4k streaming, even the highest streams are only like 60-90Mbit
even streaming a raw blueray at ultra HD is a max of 128Mpbs
2.5g switching etc is definitely helpful for internal networking. But 1g or higher internet is definitely not required for nearly anything.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBSx1MIzFPg already works with Homeassistant
The ESP-Knob is a smart knob powered by the ESP32-H2 chip, featuring a sleek aluminum alloy casing and a magnetic base. It seamlessly integrates with Home Assistant and supports multiple protocols, including BLE-HID, Thread, and Matter, offering effortless and convenient control for smart devices.
it's crazy how on cloudy days the amount of light reflected back down is enough to make the color night vision cameras see perfectly fine without the use of thier own light and with no other ambient light sources around
@last cedar poor thing is looking in rough shape. think one it's front legs is injured as well.
heyo
Yeah, I don't think you need it for streaming video. I have 3 nas/k8s nodes clustered together at 40g (ring topology, fixed routes, no switch), but 1g to my desktop is doing fine for now. I might short-term 10g the nas cluster to my main switch, and do have a 40g switch that I'll transfer stuff to and optically wire a route to each room in the house with -- if I can get the switch to be much quieter -- but that's more for file transfer, backup, and other batch jobs.
What sort of workloads do you run to use 40G links at home?
I am planning to create the ultimate server. It shall become my everything
what is the beefiest graphics card i could get for 500€?
ok dark mode in firefox is gross
great, i got viber but the provider sucks. the default modem cant even set a local dns
should try fiber next
well as far i know kpn has monopoly the 1st year.
oh no they havent.
guess a frutzel box is also a good modem
and its cheaper than ziggo. can also slower on my bandwith because it has good upload
Are you building a server or a gaming rig?
If it's a server, put the lowest power GPU you can find in it. Anything more is a waste there
I get a "notification" on my LG Thinq (Oven) and wanted to configure notifications. I don't see any events under automations for the device that match this. I haven't done any disabling or configuring. Was thinking that some of the properties aren't setup right to become automations? Is there a way to tell that
An ollama server....
i get it, i just cant support new gen intel given how shitty intel has shown themselves to be. i'm very much a vote with my wallet and voice person
pretty much yea
honestly, I'm contemplating the Intel B580 GPU to run in a Home Assistant setup down the line
im really only talking about building out a pc or server, if you need a mini pc i still like the n100 series but i will definitely never buy an intel gpu that isnt used (like a quadro)
Intel fucked up but it's better for everyone if their GPU succeeds, even if you dont buy it
I'd probably run an Intel Core 3 or 5 with an Intel GPU for it
The B580 with its 12GB VRAM would be great for Ollama
my hate for shitty companies has no bounds
As if AMD wouldn't do the same if they were able to, given they're also a publicly traded company
Do what exactly?
The scummy stuff that sellout hates Intel for
Unfortunately any publicly traded company is going to be scummy by default. They have to be in order to try and maximise profit (and if they don't maximise profit they get sued or replaced by the shareholders)
So I take the approach of if I'm gonna have to choose between publicly traded companies, might as well pick the one that best fits my needs, as it's a pick your poison situation
Oh well, yeah all big tech is evil in some way
Google is obviously. And if you look at decisions made by apple, it's never in best interest for the consumer
Microsoft are no better either. Nor are Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung, etc
I have a special hate for Apple
Have you tried bananas?

Strange. Even as someone that doesn't get on well with Apple's products at all, I can admit that they've built a fantastic set of products that work fabulously together. It's all about the convenience for consumers.
Sure, walled garden and all that. But that's what some people want.
They can continue enjoying what they enjoy while others have the choice
Nothing is forcing people to use alternatives for them being an alternative l
Sure. So there's choice - which isn't anti-consumer in the slightest.
Except for that there isnt
TIL only Apple make devices and you can't choose others.
Calling switching between two brands a choice is genuinely wrong
That's just deciding between who you want to bind you in their services
Being able to mix as desired, that's what choice would be
Bound 🤣
It would be funny it that wouldn't be what is happening
No-one's holding guns to heads, literally or figuratively. And nothing locks you in for life once you've chosen. You could have an iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch and Airpods one year, then chuck it all in the trash and switch to Android the next year.
Sure, you might want to move stuff like photos being different cloud services, but that's a mild (and expected) inconvenience.
Why would anything need to be an inconvenience
All of those issues we experience with phones have been solved on desktop systems for decades
Why would you expect there to be no inconveniences? Getting to work is an inconvience. Having to eat so you don't starve is an inconvenience.
Steamline things, sure. But very few things are zero effort.
I'm not quite sure if you are intentionally misunderstanding or just missing the point at any level
You can even try it out yourself
Move audio files to an ipad or iphone via usb
They won't show up in the library at all unless you either do the copy through a Mac or itunes
You can manually navigate to them and access them no issue
It's probably even one of the more gentle issues because that's not what happens often but it's there and it's been there since forever
Try doing a backup of the phone to a network share other than icloud
It's not about the products. It's about the philosophy of apple
Even MacOS can do that no issues
But you can backup the phone to a Mac to then store that on a network share
Makes sense
So you're saying that all of these perceived problems... have solutions? 🤯
Of course Apple make the iDevice-to-iDevice stuff the simplest. They want you to go all-in on their ecosystem. But you buy into the ecosystem knowing that's the case.
If you understand paying for more of their gear as a solution then you can't be helped
I don't buy a clapped-out three-wheeler car and expect to go off-roading in it.
Curious why a lot of those things work without those things on other brands
Must be that certain companies just don't have the capacities to do that kinda feature set
Because they didn't build a walled garden? 🤯
I'm not sure if you're intentionally misunderstanding or just missing the point
Not all businesses have to be alike. But Apple having these walled garden that people can freely enter and exit is still choice.
That's like saying people can choose to use the prison
There is no reason for why people who want to selectively use what fits their needs best shouldn't be able to do that
No buying another MacOS system to factory reset a MacOS system they already have isn't a goal to achieve
Exactly. Which is why you have all the non-Apple stuff to choose from if you want freedom and flexibility.
Again this isn't an apple exclusive issue
Apple just is a great example
There is no reason why Samsung limits the full sensor functionality of their watches to Samsung phones
Or why chargers were specific for their brands. Fortunately that's largely solved with pd
Because of Apple's greed people have been stuck with inferior lighting ports for years. Only when the EU enforced USB-C did charging and data transfer speeds come into the 21st century
Interestingly they didnt
They had USB 3 lightning on the last iPad pro before the M1 knes
But that didn't make it to any phones which then still been using V2 on USB c
Makes no sense but that's not a deal breaker for most
Can always move all the prores footage through wifi
While I do agree greed is a component of it, I also think lightning ports are more robust then USB-C
It's not so much a bad connector than it is a closed standards with tons of money to be paid towards apple
Like the auth chips that need to be in the cables
I've only had a single USB-C go bad on me. Annoyingly, it's on an expensive monitor and is the main port for the KVM functionality 🙀
They come to the conclusion fairly early that this will not be the way moving forward
Like else they would have but lightning on macbooks
They acquiesced
Unfortunately at the expense of consumers with how long they hold out of switching over
A bit unfortunate that they didn't make the magsafe from notebooks work out on phones
Probably seen how those connectors didn't last on other devices
Magsafe were a nice idea. I would've loved to see magnetic connectors take off across all products. But I'm sure there were patent/licensing issues there to prevent it 😅
They also suffer the same issues of headphone jacks where the spring loaded connectors wear out over time
It's great to see on surface tabs where after a couple of years the keyboards no longer work
Scaling this down to be more of a phone size probably would make this more difficult
But the next best thing is induction charging
They only added that after being forced by the microwave their phone crowd
huh?
Or. And this is a crazy idea. Maybe they added it because it's a feature people want and the competition were doing it already...
Qi is great. It just took off slowly.
Nah they're not. I'll be impressed if you can break a usb c port
I have 1 faulty USB-C port on a phone
it kinda holds cables in
its also 4 years old and I'm hanging on for a new phone in less then month(oneplus 9 pro to oneplus 13)
Most likely not broken, check for lint / dust inside it 🙂
Oh it's possible, just have someone try to force a lightning connecter into one, that's one expensive Leviton PD outlet down...
Get a safety pin from a sewing kit and gently scrape around, you'll be surprised how much gunk is at the back of the port.
Tried that
Least it has wireless charging, I'd be less annoyed except for the battery is toast too
Think last time I checked it, it was like 1200 mha 😛
But holding on for a new phone shortly
I'm hanging on to my 4G Galaxy Note 10+ for dear life, can't reasonably justify any upgrade until it stop working altogether
Honestly my Oneplus 9pro works just fine, but the back is broken the battery is shot and its been through some wars, its 4 years old I'm happy with what I got out of it
True, it's lived 4 times its expected design age 😆
Didn't get wireless charging on my OP7 Pro, they left it out to upsell the OP8 Pro
OP13 is looking really nice
Mine is on it's second battery, and second exterior (screen/midframe/back glass), and still chugs along just fine.
Wireless charging / reverse charging, 12GB ram, beefy CPU, still get an all day battery life, I actually use the pen to take notes, etc
Are you trying to build Theseus' cell phone?
This is actually one of the things I like about lightning ports. Much easier to clean. One port on the phone without a thin tongue in the middle I’m worried about breaking. Though my old Nexus 5x didn’t get too linty. The tongue probably lets less lint in to begin with.
That said, I’m looking forward to all my devices using a single charger.
Oh no
Have heard that if they can get to a quality food source that they are quite resilient
Lets be honest, it isn't wasting away
the ios8? hoax
OH great. I need to restart home assistant. or else my edited voice automation goes in limbo....
yeah but the "pay up bitch" is an integral apple feature.. 😛
parrot robot with an LLM now to replace managers across the world.
YUP need to restart every single time. to the bug machine!
restart the voice automation.. or homeassistant? the latter seems like something broke.. 🤔
Hopefully I'm not asking this in the wrong spot, could someone point me in the right direction to view an integration's yaml configuration if it was initially configured using the webui?
Integrations (discussed in #1284966582375813201 ) configured in the UI don't have a YAML configuration
Not wrong
Ah, learning my way through this stuff bit by bit. I'm trying to figure out how I could view/edit what HVAC modes an integration is reporting to HA. I found this post from someone who has nearly my same issue but theirs is with zwave and I'm experiencing this with matter https://github.com/home-assistant-libs/zwave-js-server-python/pull/693
#1284966582375813201 is the place
Sounds good, I made a post in add-ons thinking it was something to do with the python matter server but I'll go ahead and take it over to integrations, thank you @static schooner
Anyone have a home assistant ai that gets images piped to it so it's do real time observations? I figure someone has, just curious how it works.
you can do it with google (somthing) AI
I'm thinking something running locally with camera inputs
Like the typical AI you see in sci-fi movies
o yeah. but that isnt home assistant
I'm thinking of a llm for HA assist
that is frigat if im correct with a google coral
I'll check it out
Thanks
Weird. I work with AI and I never heard of coral. I wonder how I missed that
Not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree here, I can make my AC unit properly go into dehimidifier mode by typing "dry" into the "State" text box, but I'm not sure how to permanently add this as a selectable HVAC mode so it shows up correctly on my dashboards as a selectable option
I think this would go into #1284966582375813201 since you are messing with entities/devices. There are tags for that in there.
It showing up on a dashboard would technically be separate, but hopefully solving the state will help with that.
Back to yesterday's struggles with Tuya.
I think I am just going to buy Zigbee lights fuck this shit.
If I type it in under hvac_modes and click "set state" it does exactly what I want it to do, "dry" appears as an option. As soon as I select that state and then select another one, it dissapears and when I come back to the page in my screenshot, my edit is reverted to "dry" not being listed
The only sensible solution would be to make a mechanical computer to go to hvac modes and click set state, and then select dry
Might pursue a HACS solution though I was hoping to create awareness for the devs of the matter integration since I probably won't be the last person to encounter this
ok that's the play, it gives me all the features from the native Midea app, way more than just access to the additional HVAC modes
More Tuya issues 😦
We aren't a help channel
you should try and do what I suggested before. remove the tuya controller of the light and replace it with an esp or something. least it would be a learning experince
or throw it in the wood chipper for satisfaction
Tuya has been a massive PITA for me, wood chipper is the play
Oh, the issue hasn't changed. petro helped out significantly, though.
Quick question, I have a few devices that are associated with multiple integrations, and show all associations on the device page. How can I explicitly tell HA that certain devices that appear twice are the same thing?
I think this could happen. But I don't know if I really have the time to commit to doing all this.
your questions all seem to belong in #1284966582375813201
You know the worst part about banning folks? it makes me look like I'm talking to myself 😦
no? can't work on it during the same time you bs with us? lol
not that there's anything wrong with that
as long as I don't answer my own questions right?
or argue with yourself
Hahaha not really. Not unless I used stt to chat in here.
They're all in that general area, this one I considered more of a general interest inquiry though, not something involved enough to warrant a ticket
Why stop at 2 days troubleshooting when you can make it a multiple month project?!
there are no "tickets"
Ah, you have missed the beginning of this. This has been 2 weeks already.
just post in the right place
Because this isn't a tech channel, and any answers you get in here will be lost in the scroll
oh gotcha, the discussion format was very reminiscent of a support ticket queue, that's where I got the "ticket" idea from. Apologies for using the incorrect terminology
To quote a famous British Prime Minister "when going through hell, keep going"
Update us in 2028 when you are done with it
I really am very close to just getting new lights at this point.
The last thing I have to try (outside of Sonoma's suggestion) is a script.
I am still wondering if I can do a better job than my dehumidifier can at keeping it dry in the cellar or not 🤣
Because scenes aren't holding, it keeps fucking up the entity data.
Did Sonomas solution require a raccoon sacrifice?
Missy, I'm now curious what exactly are you trying to do?
If it didn't it could be a solid idea
Get my lights to blink.
require? no.. that's just for fun
How rapid of a blink pattern are you going for?
Every couple seconds, it's not super rapid.
I can get a video.
It works just fine in the Smart Life app. I can call it on the device page. It will not hold it in a scene.
use a smart outlet and just trigger it on and off.. problem solved
No, between colors.
Blinking holiday lights.
At this rate you could get a HA driven welding helmet and just dim your whole vision, instead of getting the lights to blink
I'm not seeing much activity in the correct spot, this channel has been the only place I've had success. I've been directed in the right direction a couple of times now in rectifying my issue(s)
home assistant has boundaries 😦
ooh, I like it
You don't know until you post it
Missy the whole string blink at 1 time?
I did post it, then brought my question here after a while
please don't do that
and change color at each blink?
there is a limit in the amount of voice automations hass can handle with out restarting hass every edit
wasn't the change meant to encourage DM'ing yellow names?
LOL
If we (communitiy and devs )keep it going, the boundries will get smaller 🙂
I used to install multiroom audio systems and we could fire commands via rs232 or send out ir codes to control devices, 8 sources, 16 rooms.
Now look where we are!
That reminds me of my highschool days almost 30 years ago with a Casio watch that had an IR transmitter in it
You can literally make your voc sensor in your cat litter box flash your biohazard warning lights, from the comfort of your app in your phone
Yes.
all this over 2 lights? lol
No, those are the only 2 you can see.
just to blink between colors lol
lmao.
There are 12 lights total, 6 on each string.
how many colors are you switching between?
Plot twist: 3 lights
Literally that video.
That's all I want.
Really jnust yellow and blue?
If I can't figure out the script myself, I will need to post a support thread.
*brown

It's the best way these lights show the "soft white".
Just make sure you use the right channel, not putting it in here 😉
And it does it forever? once its night time?
Look all I attempt to do in here is just bitch. People cannot stop themselves from asking questions.
Seriously though, stuff like that is infuriating
honestly think tuya has won the battle keeping you engaged for this long lol
It would be funny if your neighbours have also paired it and their integration is overriding yours
Like those toothbrushes
it would be more rewarding to train your pet to push a button regularly
That you can "steal" from your neighboura
Nah, there really isn't anyone else in my immediate area with path lights like I have.
yea thiers work lol
Probably a raccoon hiding in a tree with a sniffer and a sense of humour
No one is as dumb as I am here.
a raccoon has entered the chat
I wouldn't personally use lights like that, everything I try ends up leaking
But maybe something "proper" actually has a real IP rating
plus you only get to see them uncovered from snow a few days of the year lol
Funny you should say that, it rained and all the snow went away
Weird how unfrozen snow does that.
Missy can I message you an idea?
liquid snow
We went from about -10 to 2C in about 12 hours
Yes.
Yellow snow!!!
Missy not sure how well that automation would work, but its worth a try, I'll laugh it it really was that simple and you've been frusterated this long 😦
The biggest problem I have had with these lights is that they do not like listening to automations or scenes.
So, while it may work, it may not work the RIGHT way.
It's gonna be annoying lol.
I have sometimes have that issue with my 2 Tuya wifi lights, try rebooting your wifi access point every week
Don't bash it until you try it 🙂
The lights work on and off just fine. And they listen when I tell them to do things outside of scenes and automations.
I've been deploying access points for 21 years, I know how to troubleshoot wireless devices
But they seem to be holding previous configuration no matter what I attempt.
that usually implies an ordering or timing issue
And I have tried so many things to account for that.
Tuya nonsense is the problem here probably
Any brand recommendations in the Tuya price range that don't come with the headaches?
I've got a few of their light strips that I kinda gave up on, wanted to do a holiday light thing similar to what you're describing, some blinking colors when it's dark out 🎄
Based on all this, I highly suggest finding something zigbee based. Just make sure you have a good zigbee mesh to support it.
Zigbee will be a new venture for me but everyone I've heard from says it's a pretty smooth experience
I'll have to go that route if I can ever get my stubborn ass to fully give up lol
best i can do is $40 hue bulbs
Been eyeing them for years but just can't make myself drop that much
They do look solid though
the rgbw isnt worth it
buy white or white+ambiance (color temp control) hue bulbs only imo
What's the price difference?
That's significant, I didn't know their white only ones had dropped quite that much
i just use DIY WLED led strips for color
https://www.amazon.com/Aqara-Requires-Gradient-2700-6500K-Supports/dp/B0CS2X8JMM this thing is sick tho
i bought two of them they look great
I think the Tuya strips I have could be hooked up, they look to have the same contacts on the side as other light strips I've seen
Are you hooking the strips up to an ESP board or something?
please stop saying tuya it upsets me
you ever think maybe scenes is your issue? especially if you are using them in the automations lol
Zigbee 4 lyfe
Yea mostly diy in 3d printed cases
He tucked himself in
kind of wished they knew a way to capture what the light color in the scene was set to when looking at in edit mode. I looked at mine after the update and you see is the devices used.. no idicator of what the settings captured whatsoever lol
Missy waiting for a video to upload from my phone
Missy
If you do something different with the fading, would that work for you?
That a Tuya Light
gross
Hey I didn't say it was GOOD
if that's a bulbless fixture shame on you
hue makes some really cool ones they are just really expensive
but i expect them to last a very long time
nothing warrants replacing the whole fixture lol
philips hardware is just the best
Only for bulbs, not for TV's or stereos
Tbf, hue bulbs quality is shit compared to ikea in my experience
Here's the thing. It doesn't matter if the scenes are the problem here. The problem is that there's no easy way for someone to set these up whatsoever. It shows that they are basically a broken feature. If people jump to scripts or give up entirely, that's bad.
I've had more bulbs die on fewer total installed with hue, I've had around 10 hue bulbs now, 3 have died, out of 60+ ikea bulbs 1 has died
think they are talking about rgb bulbs
That's it, I'm moving to Homey
i have a homey pro apollo sent me can you install it at your house instead and just give me feedback?
in all seriousness, regardless of whether they actually work, I hit the limit of a scene in about 2 seconds and moved to scripts for what I wanted to do
it's tuya.. there's a reason why there are several jankey workarounds just to get them to work in HA to begin with.. it's not suppose to be easy or straight forward.. it's suppose to be a means for people to buy something cheap and MAYBE not chuck in the trash immeditaly lol
you have gotten farther with your lights than I did my lumarys
with those it's either cloud control or nothing
still waiting for govee to release a prelit tree and watch twinkly squirm
Is Govee any better for integration?
Haven't played with them at all, but what I've read its not
I thought they had local only means of control
oh snap
shit i just jinxed myself
I think my scared away help in the automations channel by referencing my wife 😛
There's still time for them to lose it
just glad I didn't order more than one cause I was about too. hate to have multiple's go missing lol
Are you talking the lights? I ordered 4..... but waiting until after the holodays to have them shipped
the apollo xmas tree light yes
I'm leaving for a cruise in 4 days
Yeah that's about all I use scenes for. Save state of a bunch of things, do something like flash all the lights to get someone's attention, then put it back how it was.
did it get there?
not yet
mailman hasn't been very consistant this year.. even caught them putting mail in box as late as 7pm which is really weird
think they are having staffing issues cause it's been like 3 diffrent ones
usb port should have been swapped with the button next to it. can't plug a cable into it lol
at least its not a car or a bed.
I think it's got a bad led...
@hollow glacierwhats the trick to installing the smart wifi firmware on this thing?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxTRo-8ILQo i made a video on it

What's a recommended zigbee stick these days? I've been good with my ConBee II at home, but they seem to be dated, or am I wrong in thinking that? I need to set up a whole new HA installation at church.
Ethernet or USB?
USB, sorry.
Oh wait, right, I'm supposed to just relay you to #1284966617670881350 .
sigh... I hate these new categories. 😦
Though you don't need to post there, just search for the last time someone asked the same thing.
cool little tree
i blame you for the led thing lol
So the USPS delivered your tree but lost an LED. At least they tried
think the pathway melted or something
I don't have the means of even trying to fix something that small lol
Yeah, looks broken
so crazy small lol
my best guess
anyways back to stargate, certainly not going to try for a 3rd at this point lol
This checks out for me:
In the Caribbean, they honk just to say hi as they pass another car
Interesting that it's essentially the global south
you literally have the worst luck ever
should i send you another one lol
21/22 leds just doesnt have the same ring to it
also to be fair usps lost the first one
Smart Home Sellout are you Apollo?
He does paid support for them. 😄
Gotcha, I was going to say I'm the difficult one who didn't want his stuff shipped until next year lol
there should be a little red dot over NYC
Another #mapsWithoutNZ moment...
i dunno yet. maybe if there are any after the holidays lol
NZ is just an addon for Australia, right? Convenient if you like sheep and hobbits, but completely optional 🙂
Perhaps, but at least none of our wildlife is actively trying to kill you
just have them replace mine with one of yours haha jk
xacto and solder? 🤔
eyesight
Apollo should make a tree topper not as a charity thing like this tree but as an actual product. The twinkly one is expensive and the govee one looks dumb and neither have an optional battery power
the H-1 is too small to be rigged as one or I would have done it lol
big pcbs cost more 😄
well I would expect to pay more
like..
considerably more
those small things can be jammed onto panels and such fairly easily.
but the bigger you go.. prices shoot up fast.
sure you could stamp strips and assemble into a star shape or something
i mean look at this thing
3d printed
I mean neopixel boards are available like that yes.
just how much soldering do you want to put up with? 😛
None is typically the answer.
but the fumes are so tasty! /s
😆
I just want to be in congress.
And it seems that you need to have lead poisoning for that
so i'm working at it! /s

Are you ready for Christmas?
they finally landed in the trash bin instead of bouncing off the wall and rolling back over to your feet?
lol no it was entirely too much guessing and adjusting and praying it works.
Basically figured out that I could call the device scene directly from the automation using Select and targeting the light’s scene drop down entity.
Entirely too annoying how I got here finally.
just think had you just went scripts you might have accomplished this "before" the end of the holiday season lol
lol.
https://nitter.poast.org/tokumin/status/1867081247195083109 have you guys seen/discussed this yet? it seems like it could be nice to have in ha once it rolls out
For what? A use case doesn't come to mind.
ai wankery of course.
the most useless thing in the world except for if you have money in the fossil fuel industry for that power. /s
so I know this channel's not for support, but I don't know where to post in the 12+ forums since I literally do not know what category this applies to... I want to exclude something from the logbook but I'd rather not edit the configuration.yaml file directly, I was hoping there was a UI part to adjust what the logbook tracks... but where do I even look?
I respect the ability of a LLM to interpret voice commands. That's about all I want from the "AI" side of things though.
don't respect LLM's.
They're not people. 😄
Did you just assume I respect people?
There isn't. you should get comfortable editing the yaml files and #1284966582375813201 is where you would post for help on this issue.
oh I can edit a file just fine, I've just been burned by setting up sensors by hand then the UI yelling at me that I did it wrong
what makes the logbook an integration? it doesn't show up there
it's a core integration
hmm. I'm not sure how I'd ever figure that out on my own.
is it basically anything that isn't in its own category but is a HA function is an integration?
easiest just to use the site. https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/logbook/
the site is very well documented so it can help with most everything
Yeah, it's just that some of the information is sort of out of date or not written in a way that works for me. You can (for example) set up a template sensor through settings->devices->helpers->create helper, but like 99% of the template sensor documentation is just raw yaml
if I follow those directions for the dead stupid template sensor I need, I end up with one that can only be administered by editing the yaml even though there's a UI version
you can see where this leads me to asking about the logbook, hopefully
that kind of stuff is relatively newly added to the ui
to do anything more advanced it has to be done through yaml and to be honest, once you learn how to do the yaml, the ui part is just a "quick n easy" for more simplier sensors lol
I have a problem losing track of all the different config files I've edited on my linux systems, bsd systems, etc
HA is slowly moving more and more stuff to the UI but yaml will always be the better method for most everything
if something can show everything in a nice list I happily take it
you can separate out your config so that sensors has their own file, logbook has it's own file etc.. but you would have to ask about that in #1284966540617449515 I believe
once HA clicks it's like riding a bike and for the stuff that is still a little confusing it makes searching for answers on what you want to do so much easier
yeah I've already templated out configurations for esphome devices into baseline yaml files with modifiers on top of them, yadda yadda. I just organize information better visually.
is there a text editor you can run in the HA UI that supports multiple tabs? that would help me a lot
or side-by-side editing, diffs, etc

oh hell that's pretty cool
its one of the first things to install; yeah.. 😛
thanks. I've just been struggling along with the core configurator (file editor) and awkwardly opening multiple windows with it
or sshing in 😐
That's full on HAL9000 territory
was nice knowing you all
its just trying not to get control-altman-deleted like that guy who worked at openai and spoke out about his issues with the whole "rampantly steal literally every piece of content for our profit" thing.. 😛
Question for mods, double post are tolerate or are rule #4? Asking about the dude posting sensornode on self-promotion. I don't like the indirect way publicity
I don't see anything wrong with what they did there. That's what the channel is for
Ok np thanks for reply, I was thinking the purpose of self-promotion channel was not to promote selling product, my bads

it's very close to midi infact I think you can easily convert between the two
Yes, I've made a lot of fun stuff with midi
Gonna integrate my office lights with midi eventually
This reminded me of tuya btw

Is there a card where I can just enter text?
I know a entity card and a text helper can do the job but it isn’t the cleanest and is not intuitive at all

I'll ask to be included

For some reason I'm the only one in the org who does more than two products, so I'm currently getting pulled into a lot of stuff

96 nodes for a PoC seems insane
but yea, if my current team ever annoys me, I'll try to get into cloud.
doing infra on borg sounds like fun
