I don't mind being reminded to subscribe once or twice... but some of these where it's "reminded" 5 or 6 or more times? That's an ad to me.

prisma briar
#

Or if they release 5 minute videos and a minute of each is begging you to interact

forest edge
#

youtube has a neat thing to where when the author speaks it the little subscibe button lights up

#

i found that clever

orchid rose
#

You can also whitelist channels where you don't mind it and want to support the creator

prisma briar
#

This is just like one PC over the last year (though I do walk away and leave it auto-playing for hours all the time)

orchid rose
#

Where do you find that?

prisma briar
#

at the bottom of the extension popup window

orchid rose
#

Oh I see:

You've skipped 6,648 segments ( 2d 18h 21.6 minutes )

forest edge

I have no idea why.

real frigate

youtube will just keep cycling videos.. why support people your not even watching?

lone dagger
#

I frequently hit my 1.2GB limit.

prisma briar

Generally because I'm still listening to it while doing something else then I get distracted and end up in another room. Have you never left a TV on?

I have unlimited, so I don't worry about it, but yeah, I can see why that would suck.

Yea, I don't have bandwidth caps or anything, I have no reason to care about YouTube auto-playing beyond it sometimes going off on a weird train of videos.

It only takes one click on a prageru video and you end up on a very weird side of the platform

prisma briar

Autoplay is generally fine for me as long as I'm watching something I normally watch, it's when I watch a new type of video that it goes off on weird tangents

#

Also you can remove videos from your history

#

And it doesn't suggest based off of them anymore

#

There's been a few times I've watched a video or two on a subject and noticed I had a dozen recommendations for that topic on every page so I removed them from my history

My son tolerates it okay, but I have a feeling we will need to shift. It's not fully helping with his symptoms anymore and I don't think we can go higher. Which is fine, I would prefer him on a non-stimulant anyway....

lone dagger
prisma briar

I took both when I was a teenager, I remember both sucking and not helping anything.

lone dagger

He's been on it a couple years now, but I think a non-stimulant will be better. I might talk to his doctor about doing that over the summer, but I haven't fully committed to it yet.

lone dagger
#

And nothing will ever make you perfect, but hitting that "WAIT THIS IS HOW REGULAR PEOPLE THINK????" is great.

real frigate
# iron granite What are bills for services from a doctor?

Go to see the doctor, you get a bill of services (usually a copay if you have insurance). If they have to do more stuff beyond a routine exam or checkup, you sometimes get charged more (if you don't have insurance). American medical care... crappiest in the world. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Looks like the energy density is fairly miserable, but by all accounts near zero safety issues and ridiculous charge/discharge rates.

Two years ago, sodium-ion battery pioneer Natron Energy was busy preparing its specially formulated sodium batteries for mass production. The company slipped a little past its 2023 kickoff plans, but it didn't fall too far behind as far as mass battery production goes. It officially commenced…

What I find interesting is one of the things they're pitching is load shifting for EV charging sites.
Because you can charge/discharge it so quickly, could charge the cars at ~150kW or whatever they need these days, but spread out the load drawn from the grid.

Starting to see a lot of that sort of thing lately, like this induction stove that has a battery, so you can have a 10kW output power on a 1.8kW North American power outlet:
https://www.impulselabs.com/
Only need it for a short amount of time to heat things from cold to boiling, at which point the power requirements would go way down. So makes a lot of sense.

With best-in-class features that blend power, precision, and a pain-free installation, the Impulse Cooktop brings next-generation performance to your kitchen.

aqara is bad at the whole "mesh" aspect of zigbee.. once it's connected to the coordinator they don't speak to anything else even if it loses connection

#

learned that the hard way with the few that I have

I had issues enough with the mesh issues, by them falling out from time to time. In general I had much more issues in my old house case of solar panels (solar panels absolutly wrecked 2.4gz cause of the optimizers). Other than that they might work fine. I am testing two zb3 brands now, both sub of tuya. One looks pretty good, but not as small as aqauara as its using 2x aaa, the other one the cr battery, plus got possibility use use usb, though it looks much more plastic. The only issue with both is the larger contact

Zigbee range is garbage, so as long as you keep that in mind during placement you can iron out alot of issues. if your coordinator dosen't have an external antenna then you gotta keep that in mind as well

#

I have a router device literally 5ft from the skyconnect dongle and it's strength is still bad lol

Somehow I would prefer to get recessed door and window sensors as the are an eyesore

#

idk how it is in the US, but windows/doors usually have quite a lot of padding so its hard to mount sensors flush

I personally don't care about them sticking out but as I posted above you can customize your install

ok the big question im curious. Do you install the sensor on the door / window part thats opening and the magnet on the non moving part, or oposide?
