I do have a water softener, but I've had it for ~10 years and just started having issues when I replaced the original water heater that was going on 13 years. Now I'm going through a parade of 12-year Rheem units

This one lasted less than a year, the last one lasted 3 months. There's something weird about my water

I ordered a couple of water test kits to see why what's going on. I had the hardness set too high on the softener, but I think that only wastes water & salt

I already had a plumber come out to give an estimate for a tankless unit, but he didn't have anything useful to say about what's causing the premature tank failures

the original tank was just fine, but it was like 11 years old and I decided to swap it before it broke and now I regret it every day

you should really look to see where the leak is coming from

that would narrow down significantly what the issue may be

I can see some dust discoloration on the top toward the back where I suspect some water pooled, which is very similar to the last time this happened. I just don't see it all the time

it's not the fittings, though, and that's the only fixable thing

I drained it a few weeks ago and stuck an endoscope in there and could see that the junction between the flue and tank was starting to show signs of rust

I have a good quality powered anode installed

When it pumps out the back it does it fast which leaves it with the wrong pressure in the hotend and often over- or under-extrudes for the first half second or so, the prime tower takes that. You can set it to either flush purge into another model or into the internal support structure of your model, and if the model is big enough to flush everything you don't need a prime tower.

You can most likely get away making the prime tower smaller too

You can disable prime towers but most likely the points where your colors change will have defects all over

I don't get people like the dev of that mt-32 emulator. I added a feature and submitted a PR, he denied it saying he had some huge system planned that'd incorporate what I added, three years later that feature is still not available in the mainline release.

I just added another mode to it to pass through to an external MIDI device

Had another dev do that to me on another project then come back three months later and ask me to update my code to the latest release so it could be merged in now because he couldn't get to it in time

I also updated the first guy's code to the latest version of the framework and libraries he was using so I could get a bugfix, which he then did on his own a month later, basically 1:1 redoing what I already did. I guess some people just want to manage their own projects completely.
