I dunno about that, errm. Race condition in one of the USB enumeration queues it appears. Causes the entire USB stack to go into a deadlock, along with every USB device, and if you had a USB audio device you also lose the audio stack
It is hard to repro on modern macs. Much easier the older you go. But I first found it entirely by accident
And then found it very hard to reboot the machine any other way than the good old fashioned press and hold the power button considering you lose all your input devices...

All you have to do is cause mass arrival of USB devices at same time as mass removal of USB devices. Which seems odd? But a colleague unplugged their dock and plugged it back in on another port and boom, all the USb devices they had on the dock was enough
it seems to be something to do with it not having completed processing the removal of all the previous devices before it has to start processing adding of new devices

Most folk, might only have a mouse and a keyboard on their dock, the dock might have a built in NIC or audio adapter, probably not a big deal there
They had a USB hub chock full of other devices also connected to the dock though
a few thumb drives, a few USB oscilloscopes
is it likely to happen to average user on m3? Probably not
But it is a dumb bug, and it is still something some niche users can genuinely trigger entirely by accident

I have tried the whole having an android tablet on you as the next step up from a phone but I am usually finding whenever I go to use it, I start appreciating having a keyboard and a more capable OS too
alas, this is my 2nd GPD device, I am not happy with their QC/QA and frankly their design process. I wont get another device from them. but devices that small are a niche. I'm keeping an eye on my options when it comes to replacement time.

I was at COTA in '21, it was so poorly managed they had lot attendants quitting and walking off in frustration trying to direct traffic in the parking lot
I think it took us like 2 or 3 hours to get out of the parking lot
