hey I'm a gamer, what can I say. Which means I play games like once a month....

I have a 16" portable display that's 2560x1600 120Hz that I like

#

Only issue I have is I have to re-enable HDR every time it loses power

But I keep it plugged into a desktop so it hasn't been much of an issue. It's so light I was able to 3D print a mount for it easily.

my other WRX was 4.8s 0-100 but it's a 4 door and the back seats can only really take kids to kindergarten LOL

steel crag

350kwh or something

steel crag

even mine was more than that

umbral cliff

clear ferry

this month is only 6 days old

steel crag

clear ferry

does that answer the question ?

steel crag
#

2205kWh hours would be USD$717.57, 2367kWh would be USD$771.76

clear ferry
#

Or should I sing it like my dead grandmother used to do ?

steel crag
#

by my electricity rates

clear ferry
#

with current prices 2205 would be $19

#

with the worst variable price we had last year it would be $2205

steel crag
#

I used 564kWh last month

#

and my bill was $169.74

clear ferry
#

I think the lowest daily I've ever had in my house was 45kwh

umbral cliff
#

I used like 825kwh last month
113USD

steel crag
#

so I didn't even hit the top charge tier for over 800kWh which is (0.1495/kWh + 0.185/kWh)

clear ferry
#

oh we don't have tiers

#

just variable rate

steel crag
#

we have variable rates too, just based on usage per month

clear ferry
#

roughly 5% of people have fixed power price

umbral cliff
#

I just have a flat rate here
Cheaper

clear ferry
#

same number for people who have fixed interest on their mortages

steel crag
#

0-200 kWh/month is 0.1095
201-800 kWh/month is 0.1195
800+kWh/month is 0.1495
and for every kWh you use 0.185kWh fuel surcharge

umbral cliff
umbral cliff
steel crag
#

well our power plants run on bunker-C

clear ferry
#

current fixed prices are around $0.05 per kwh I believe

#

whereas my average has been $0.002 so far this month

clear ferry
#

that includes two car loans and a house loan

umbral cliff
#

Mine is $0.14USD per kwh
We don't have variable pricing, given its all shared between states and we are forced into 'buying' from green sources so wouldn't change anything anyway

we have 100% green power and 94% hydro electric anyway

solar zealot
#

yea one of my frens did aswell

amber shard
#

anyone about that is much into line voltage work? I'm pondering some future upgrades and wondering what kind of transfer switch I'd be looking at if I had two different backup power sources

#

(specifically a bidirectional EV charger and fixed lithium batteries)

solar zealot
#

i suppose vicron has something for when money is plenty available

#

not sure if switching between sources would even be good or required in this case as both systems may be used when connected to the grid

amber shard
#

to put it another way, I'd like the system be able to automatically transfer to the backup power sources when grid power fails

#

ideally done in an intelligent/programmed manner, eg 'draw from the batteries first, then draw from the EV charger'

#

without having to go and flick a switch to change the backup power source between the batteries and the EV charger

#

that aspect can probably be handled via software somewhere else though

#

three way transfer switch seems to be the term

solar zealot
#

but does that do for those devices?

#

like they are connected by default to charge

amber shard
#

well I would think that I would handle that by software

#

set an alarm somewhere in HA to go off when grid power is lost and things fail over

#

and from there command the devices to charge or not

solar zealot
#

i guess when the host running this is also on a backup

amber shard
#

yeah would probably end up putting my HA box on a separate UPS as well

#

EV being a 'generator' for this context

Anyone have a good naming convention to distinguish between the swinging door you use to enter/exit a garage, vs the vertically rolling door you use to pull your car into/out of the garage?

My house has both a detached and an attached garage. I have a sensor on both of the vertically rolling doors as well as a sensor on both of the standard swinging doors. But I'm having trouble coming up with a nice succinct naming convention for all 4.

I refer to the detached garage as "workshop" and the attached garage as "garage". I'm thinking...

  • Workshop Door
  • Workshop Rollup Door
  • Garage Door
  • Garage Rollup Door

I still undecided on the term to use.
