@chilly storm the event location is on walking distance from a large shopping area with also has nail salons. Just watch your belongings as it also famous for pocket-pickers. " Hoog Catherijne " is huge and has at least 3 nail salons what I saw on the map.

Likely day of. I get laryngitis VERY easily (no idea why) and so I need to save my voice, have all the water I can stomach, avoid alcohol, and have some sort of lozenges to keep my vocal cords in shape.

I'll probably be using TTS and have something that says "I can only listen right now." Because...yeah, it's pretty much cruel and unusual punishment to make me stay quiet.

Most soccer "Voetbal" games are played on sundays. Utrecht has a team and location. https://www.fcutrecht.nl - check their website and see if there a game. If you have time you can also see for a game in Amsterdam (Ajax), by train that is like 20mins. I’d love to make it over there for this, but not in the cards this year. In the middle of the kids’ spring break from school. Their mother is leaving on the 9th on a trip. Yeah we standardized so all train/bus/tram/metro providers use the same system.

Btw, if your card doesnt work for some reason, its also worth trying your google/apple pay on your phone or watch even if its connected to the same card. It’s considered a different type of payment cos the company is in between. I’ve had that work in other countries before.

As Guy said, we do have (commercial) providers running it nowadays, but it is all considered public transport. So taking the train with NS (former national railways) who's just a train provider (rails has become another company) from Schiphol to Utrecht Central Station and you take a bus or a tram from there to your hotel it might be a different provider. Just mind to swipe (hence; beep) the same card on those little pedestals every time you enter/exit and you'll be fine. (For complexity with beeping, as already mentioned, on trains it's on or near the entrance, for trams (in Utrecht) its on the platforms and in busses it's at the bus entrance/exit.) Do not forget to 'beep out' - it's difficult enough as a citizen to get your money back 🙂

Or rent a car or walk (the latter could be mostly fine, though from any airport to utrecht I'd recommend the trains)

Hi i just visited state of the open home and was told sendspin is the solution for playing audio hosted on YouTube on my pc to all audio devices via sendspin, but on the way back it said that's not the case at all?

Instead it is more a sort of open source sonos system

Sendspin is under extremely heavy development currently and its capabilities and the available tools are changing constantly.
LLM's are going to struggle to to provide meaningful help for it currently. its source data is going out of date.

organise a symposium is not difficult, it is a lot of work. Call for papers/presentors and a good agenda mix of sessions. And a commercial track in the breaks. Fact is, it is a huge amount of work. I co-organised these kinds of symposiums in the past with 400-600 visitors.

think we started a year ahead for a symposium, most work was finding good speakers from the community. As we had the rule 70% of the breakout sessions were community/user driven. The main sessions were mostly vendor driven by developers.

btw, Flor was hired in October and knocked this event out of the park in that short time.

While also handling coordinating community meetups and our team in person meetup back in February.
