You can get an amp (or amps or receivers) that supports google cast or airplay 2 also. I'm in an Apple house so everything is Airplay 2 compatible and I don't bother bringing it into HA (though I guess I could).

FWIW, these amplifiers that you can get for cheap in aliexpress (I believe this was like 11€/$) are great. This is the second I buy. I connected my voice hardware to the ceiling speakers with it. If you don't need subwoofer there's an even cheaper model

I've bought a couple of these/amps similar to this - and i find they kinda fall short in a few areas... the Bluetooth is always "open" when a device isn't connected to it, so if you have neighbors who live close enough, they can accidently connect to the amp, and play their music loudly on your speakers in the middle of the night...
more annoying, i find the Bluetooth tends to be the primary audio source on them, so if you have something plugged into aux in, and something else connected to BT, you won't hear audio through the aux device until you disconnected whatever is connected to BT (even if the BT source isn't actually playing any media).
at least that's been the experiences on the two different models i bought.

I have this one connected through the AUX input right now. That said, I don't have nowhere near bluetooth range, but if a speaker is connected with blutooth and those speakers are usually always ON devices, why would someone else be able to connect to the amp?

In the future plan on automated shades. Voice not important right now but do plan on adding HA Voice. No kids but often guests. So friday evening, after I stopped by my dad's on the way home (Friday was the 1 year anniversary of my mom, his wife's passing) one of my rear Rockford Fosgate Punch 6x9's (4 way speakers) on the back deck of my car started rattling like crazy. Well.. This morning I decided to see why. Somehow a coin had managed to get under the speaker grille and was sitting on the main cone. That's when I remembered "Hey, you were supposed to trim these grilles so they actually went where they're supposed to, instead of just resting on top of the slightly-thicker-than-OEM replacements!" so I just took a dremel tool to them this morning. 😛
And, wonder of wonders, it also got rid of the slight buzz for those hard bass lines, which were bouncing the grilles off the speakers. 😛

I looked into implementing that myself, instructions are not quite clear to me at the moment so going to need to revisit at some point in the future
OpenVAS was also a separate option I was looking into but apparently my home network has a fit if when its scanning causing the mesh network to reboot

I just got this spun up yesterday and I'm loving it for media tracking. I've kept a list of my absolute favorite movies/shows/etc like this for years in a google sheet (with ratings) but this pulls in artwork, descriptions, does some nice data visualization. So far I'm really liking it.
