Eh it's not really in Thrawn's character to straight up execute someone
It's actually a Japanese thing called Kintsugi, where you repair broken objects with gold.
It was used for Kylo helmet in tros
Talk them to death
Oh no kidding, that's really cool! That's... weirdly, surprisingly Jedi of them lol
also jokes on us for this whole time assuming the Dathomiri were named after Dathomiir, turns out it was the other way around this entire time cause the Dathomiri migrated from a different galaxy
His moment is probably his half broken ISD taking on those three New Republic ships from last episode
also im sorry especially after showing actual nightsisters you cannot convince me morgan isnt just a human like
why does she look that way??
are they retconning it so that the markings are facepaint?? that makes no sense given Ventress and Merrin 😭
Maybe she uses Magick to distort her face
Also first time we've ever seen a Stormtrooper do something helpful and not just be in a scene to be intimidating/cannon fodder?
Pog?
or they retconned her into being a nightsister when it wasnt the original plan
Ah yes them liftng cargo
Retcon works fine tbh
Truly the Good Guys of the galaxy
i mean ig but it is kinda weird
that shes just standing next to three other nightsisters that look nothing like her
lmfaoo
they dont even like mention it
its kinda wack
Idk it doesn’t bother me
Morgan:
I’m sure there’s some dumb explanation
yeah morgan has gotta be like 2 generations mixed with humans or something bro
It'd be funny if this episode was them just making a pit stop to Mos Eisley to get parts from Peli Motto
As far as I'm concerned the nightsisters are still considered to be some variation of zabraks, which have human skin tones. So it's not that weird
dave filoni look me in the eyes and tell me these are the same species
Well also they are from the original planet
Wasn’t expecting Thrawn to have a full ass assembly of new imperials but I shouldn’t be too shocked
Props to Thrawn’s dry cleaner though
That uniform is still spotless
he uses neverwet
That's what the subtitles said
No we are calling them Oompaloompas
except his was red so it probably wasn’t gold
i wonder how they did the face for that one helmet
As somebody in the Navy, I don’t understand how Thrawn kept his dress whites so spotless.
Dude has a good ass dry cleaner
Night Troopers ooooo
I always kinda rolled my eyes a little bit, whenever I see videos talking about like the different kinds of Stormtrooper it's like
Standard rank and file Stormtrooper
The classic
Yes
Good
also guys
Scout troopers, ok yes this is in fact another kind of Stormtrooper, good good
Sand trooper
This is a regular Stormtrooper but dirtier
All of this is unimportant, what we need to know is do they sit in hot tubs in speedos?
where is Pellaeon? Like wasnt he on the ship when they got BLASTED to the other galaxy in rebels? We see him on the shadow council in mando? Was he calling from this planet or did HE and only HE find a way back to the main galaxy?
Definitely a totally different guy
He definitely didn’t get banished
He wasn't on Thrawn's ship
was he not?
Night Troopers are not qualified unless they have dedicated spa sessions
So two more episodes? What do y’all thinks gonna happen?
Your collection will be incomplete without the Sand Trooper helmet, which is just a regular stormtrooper but dirty
Night trooper, this one is a regular stormtrooper but broken and dirty, you must purchase the--
Like guys these are all
You hear him over the comms when the purrgil show up. He wasn't on the chimaera
The same guy
Thrawn's Kintsugi Troopers were on point.
They did look pretty cool
It's a very thrawn thing to have
It was awesome seeing them just kind of appear
Like hundreds of them chanting like they're some kind of crazy cult
Gonna guess Sabine will reconcile with Ahsoka, prove herself as a force user, fight to escape back to their homes, Thrawn will not be entirely defeated has it is setting up the Mandoverse movie
Enoch is wild
Heir to the empire movie gonna go crazy
Was not expecting that face
I refuse to call it the Mandoverse but yeah 😭
My guess is that Ahsoka arrives but fails to stop thrawn from leaving. But she can stop Baylon from whatever he's planning
Rip
He was very good this episode
I need the track for Thrawn’s entrance
I need the soundtrack Kevin Kiner
I need it now
Best we can do is 3 weeks
We need a second wave of lego ahsoka sets
Honestly 8 episodes still doesn’t feel long enough
Maybe a Kintsugi trooper battlepack or a Chimera Star Destroyer
And I love how grand and epic thrawns return is. Ignoring his fantastic entrance in this episode, making the plot about his return from exile is genius
Descendant from an offshoot that hybridized with other humanoid species. We already have Jacen, another humanoid hybrid wouldn't be weird.
I feel like Thrawn is going to majorly damage the New Republic and it’ll lead to them being so weakened in The Force Awakens
Maybe he’s why Leia breaks off and forms the Resistance
Ezra will say “I have become Snoke destroyer of fanbases” and Snoke all over the place
I mean i dont doubt thats a good explanation but was she like, trained as a nightsister? she seems on the older side she was likely born before the nightsisters were genocided during the clone wars
I know they already made books about this shit but it seems Dave and them are ignoring the books and comics so this is all going to be new
Dave ignored it with Ahsoka and the siege of mandalorian and with Kanan
I like that the first thing that Thrawn does when told a Jedi is coming is "yup, that's the Jedi that you said got killed"
Comprehension of mystical stuff might not be his strong suit but he gets that probably is better not to underestimate space wizards woo much.
they havent made any books about thrawns return
all the books about thrawn are BEFORE he was taken
And tbh I think it’s fine because I don’t want some comics or books that not many people have read to dictate the direction of the live action shit
I mean about the resistance and forming of the first order
Because Thrawn’s return is obviously going to play a major part in that
Dathomir's group might not be the only one. Galaxy is big, smaller groups may have been around in more diverse parts of the galaxy and probably went mostly extinct.
Nah, it's pretty clear the Republic was weak because Mon Mothma was obsessive about decentralizing everything and not creating a strong enough executive power that would be able to repeat the ascent of Palpatine.
Do they say that in the movies and shows?
I’m saying I have a feeling they’re going to ignore large parts of the expanded media to do their own thing
There was a scene that was cut from TFA that hinted at the Republic being stuck in political squabbles because there was only the senate and no permanent executive power.
But Abrams is a moron so he cut it.
Yeah then I would guess they’re going to change some stuff from the books and comics with whatever was addressed in them
Also this is more than twenty years before TFA.
Yeah but imo there’s no way this event just leaves everything exactly as it was
It’s going to set up the first order
If it doesn’t I’m going to be very surprised
I don't think it will get big enough to influence the state of the Republic.
I don’t think we are ever gonna get the build up to episode 7
I disagree this seems like a big ass conflict arising
People thought the stuff with Moff Gideon cloning would lead to Snoke and the First Order too
We saw the birth of the FO in Mando.
new best Doggo in Star Wars.
Yeah and that stuff directly ties into this
it's pretty clear that Thrawn's faction is not the part of the empire that will originate the FO.
Gideon's clonning plotline was a big let down tbh
I was disappointed that Moff’s cloning thing was about himself
The reason they want Thrawn back is to unite all the factions
Three seasons and nothing comes of it
So that would include whatever became the first order
You know, I really love how imposing the chimaera is despite being beat up to shit
Also helps that we haven't seen a star destroyer in this time period yet, at least in live action
You assume the FO is a union of the faction, I just think it's the only one that survived.
I’m saying I wouldn’t be surprised if they ignored expanded material and just changed how the First Order came to be
presumably Hux Senior's.
That’s all I’m saying
Wouldn’t be the first time Star Wars has ignored material
Dave has done it before
Mostly because the FO is visibly very un-Thrawn-like.
Also most of the Empire hated Thrawn, the guy was an alien and competent enough that many thought he made them look bad.
Bro that’s from the books and shit I’m saying they might just ignore all that and do their own thing 😭
In terms of the Resistance I felt that was just a very natural evolution given the Rebellion wasn’t really rebelling as much as they were helping mandate peace after the Battle of Endor
You’re missing my point
Can't wait to see people argue over who Enoch is
My shit I just dropped
Baylan is kinda based fr fr fr
Enoch is Rukh
I assume its probably just gonna be that the imperial remnants have thrown all there eggs in the thrawn basket, it's all gonna fall apart and whatevers left becomes the first order
Thrawn enlists Embo
There are hints of that in Rebels, he failed to stop the rebels escaping from Chopper base not just because of the Bendu but also because some of the officers wouldn't obey his order to stay in formation.
What I’m assuming
It was so weird hearing Thrawn's voice come out of Elon Musk's face
Would be cool if the final battle in the movie was the Battle of Jakku. I know that would be ignoring a lot of other stories but who cares it would be cool 🙃
Elon Musk but he’s actually intelligent
Elon Musk when he's gone to mars
I’m sick of stories being hampered by comics and books that I have to read in order to understand shit. If it’s not in live action or animation, i personally don’t see it as canon given Dave Filoni just ignored that stuff
Yeah that threw me off at first
So weird hearing his voice
Coming from an actual person
Part of me wonders If we'll actually see the bendu. I doubt it, but I would like to see.
Also would be interesting if the bendu vision of thrawn defeat wasn't the rebels finale. But whatevers coming in dave movie
Idk why it was jarring
That sounds dope
Books and expanded material is cool, but some of it's basically been discarded since the rise of skywalker
Omg I'm an idiot
Looking at you poe backstory
Eman Esfandi
Mena has strong charisma
And then they wrote a book just to try and fix it
If they actually end up doing the battle of jakku though, we better fucking see inferno squad. Especially since iden already uses Janina Gavankar likeness
Oh no, Poe was only a spice runner because he was undercover and so his backstory actually works if you squint at it
I’m very surprised Kanan has not been mentioned once yet
This ending with Battle of Jakku would mess up canon
I thought this was post battle of Jakku
He was mentioned last week
He was mentioned last episode 💀💀💀💀
Was he?
I bet it will come up next time hera and jacen appear
Yeah Huyang was telling Carson about Jacen's dad being Kanan and Carson said "okay"
Okay, but inferno squad
No.
One thing is telling stuff that happened in a book in a different way, another is completely fucking up the chronology.
Also the battle appears in games and the like, not just in books. One would think Thrawn would be mentioned.
This is close enough for them to appear anyway.
But yeah nah, the battle of jakku would have already happened. Which is why we haven't seen any star destroyers
They all gone
It would also screw up Lost Stars, which is not worth it
Also, tumblr says the planet's ring is made out of purgil bones
Yum
Wild
What if a colony of socialist ants attacks Thrawn before he leaves
They should retcon it anyway because I think it would be cool 😄
Then we find out that’s just one version of Thrawn and not the actual Thrawn
There’s a whole Thrawn Colony
Ezra raised a community of based socialist rock aliens that will defeat thrawn
Gideon cloned him
Dark Empire but with Thrawn
Thrawn will return in Mandoverse: Secret Wars
200,000 Thrawns are ready with a million more on the way
What are we some kind of Thrawn Dynasty?
Ezra is always raising an army of random ass alien creatures lol
Thrawn of the planet of the thrawns
He’s good with animals
He controls the spice
I honestly lost how in character ezra vibing with these rock fuckers for 20 years is
I guess he couldn't get blue hair dye on Peridea
Okay but his hair was naturally blue
Give him a break he just got back from the Last Supper
Only been ten, but yes
A very very dark blue
His eyes are more blue than Thrawn is
Fake fan, doesn't know the timeline
what an episode
Think it's been cemented that Ahsoka is my favourite live action show so far. Recency bias perhaps, will see how I feel in a month's time
but jeesh
its good stuff
The ages in rebels is honestly kinda weird though. Like I'm supposed to believe that by the end of rebels ezra is 19 and sabine is 21, when their actual model sizes haven't changed since season 1
Ezra is taller in season 3 and 4 than he is in season 1 and 2
Okay but they still basically have the same head models start to finish
i love the drastic difference between thrawn's appearance and ezra. Thrawn has this monumental buildup with a gigantic army behind him and the most omnious music playing.
And ezra just fuckin appears behind a caravan looking homeless.
I’m sorry but I can’t enjoy this I don’t know who Ezra’s parents are? Is he a Palpatine or a Skywalker?
Ezra had the eternal baby face, and sabine height still barely changed compared to Ezra
duh he's obviously a kenobi
look at the beard
Ezra is Obi-Wan and Satines kid
Ah okay
chopper is also R2's son
@torpid stag you'll be pleased to hear i mostly liked this episode
No, clearly he's the child of kenobi and that one guy he thought about kissing in the one book nobody read and got angry about
glad we finally are gettin motivation for baylan and shin
Honestly though the beard kind of fits him
the episode re-introduced thrawn and ezra very smoothly and kept the plot moving along at a pretty good pace
baylan and shin black series when
Can we agree Ezra knows Sabine is full of shit?
like i feel like the last episode stalled the story alot to show us the "HEY!! Remember this?" moments but this episode still had those moments without bringing the story to a screeching hault.
also can I say the Ezra casting is on point
I really hope we get a black series of ezra/sabine lightsaber. I know there's a galaxy edge version. But the sizes and price for those are fucking stupid
He nailed Ezra's voice
I would believe that was Taylor Gray's voice
honestly fr
Also the guy they got to play Thrawn nailed that voice as well
man thinking what if ezra has a new lightsaber already but the only crystals available on the witch planet were red ones.
Give sabine a heart attack.
... mostly i kid
I hope he just knows how to kick ass with the force
Best episode so far. Loved the visuals. The castle, Thrawn's army, the Glup Shitto tribe. This is good soup
No lightsaber
i need a figure of that gold face trooper
what a sick ass design
Anyways I sleep, night
Nah, if so the saber would be white unless the guy went bad.
White crystals in sabers are always red crystals purified by good force users and I doubt Ezra would keep it red.
It's so interesting seeing unique-looking stormtroopers. I'm so used to lore reasons and the empire always using standardized designs
Besides, in theory one could stumble on a random kyber anywhere but they are just incredibly rare outside places like Ilum.
Captions called them Night Troopers
i may be a little gay for hairy ezra

god i need figures of everyone from this show seriously
i need a figure of the little crab people
Second wave lego, pls
and sabine's dog
a gold-trim star destroyer would be so raw
Imagine an eye of sion set that combines with a chimera set
We could also get baylon's shuttle
That episode was tight as fuck
That roman looking trooper
Best design I’ve ever seen in Star Wars
The Akira Kurosawa inspiration hits hard this episode
Love it
New ahsoka was, alright
Someone summarize what I’ve missed in this thread for me
New Ahsoka episode barely had any Ahsoka, so it’s bad 😤
Needed more Din Djarin
Tbh this might be my favorite episode
Baylan was based af when he said he misses the idea of the Order but not its truth and weakness
Reminded me of my departure from faith
baylan continuing to carry this show on his massive ass shoulders
I still stand by this was the best episode so far
still have my issues but i enjoyed it
i like new stuff
learning all this new shit about the nightsisters and ancient history
im really curious where this is going
There was a feeling I was having in this episode though
When it showed that creature she rode and those little aliens
I kept wondering
“Am I supposed to recognize these from something?”
And I’m kind of annoyed that I have that feeling with current SW stuff
Time to play Do you know this Gulp Shitto
But I getcha
Kinda starved for new fresh ideas instead of banking on old ones
Right like these are probably new but they look so familiar
I think the aliens reminded me of Meebur Gaskon (sp?)
The trooper designs were fuckin amazing
I didn’t expect them to go as hard as they did. Was just expecting the same old same old armor
In the Rise of Skywalker with Palpatine trying to bring back the Sith Empire, and there being Sith Troopers in the story, I was hoping maybe there might be a moment where we would see like a Sith Trooper you know?
Also the whole “I’m glad Ahsoka is Ahsoka the white and like Gandalf now” sentiment is kinda weird to me. It’s like saying, “I’m glad Aang is like Percy Jackson now” or something
Speak for yourself but I'm glad Buzz Lightyear is Edward Scussorhands now
Honestly I’m just looking at it as there are multiple remnants, and in the end Palpatine wants to make it look like it was all his grand plan. Just like Lucasfilm having multiple threads and saying it all ties together
Remember when we were getting an Old Republic who that would re-canonize the Republic vs the Sith Empire?
Not sure I know much about that
Lol it was a rumor a good few years ago now
There were talks going on... God, it might've even before the Disney acquisition
That’s more than a few years then lolmao
Can I ask actually
No
Lmao
Lol
They included an Old Republic era Sith Trooper in like... a mobile game that Disney licensed?
And now I'm wondering if that's like
Canon confirmed, quick we need to go update Wookiepedia
Idk Even with the new Old Republic content and expansions that came out post Disney buyout, they still considered it Legends. There are Easter eggs though like Malachor in Rebels and I think a legion named after Revan in TROS. But I think we’re supposed to assume a version of the stuff in that era happened in canon, but maybe not quite exactly as it was told in Legends. Yet to be confirmed until we see how it plays out in new canonical content.
Yeah, the Old Republic MMO is still going strong but it's in a weird place of like
It’s the only Legends thing still ongoing
Yeah something like this happened? Probably? But this game isn't canon
Old Marvel stuff had a one-shot continuation a few years ago
When it comes to Old Republic era, I’m mainly familiar with the KOTOR comic series, and then I watched playthroughs of the KOTOR games so I could have context for the Revan novel
I had the games on Steam but over the last several years its been tough to be motivated to play through those types of games
One of my big questions about the Republic and the Sith Empire is how the Empire looked like this
But they got defeated
And then the Republic grew to look like this
And rebranded itself as "The Empire"
And nobody was like wait hang on... something's up
Hell people forgot much about the Jedi by the OT apprently
Even less than that lol
Maybe they erased stuff from the archives
Remember when Kamino was erased from the Jedi archives, and Obi-Wan couldn’t just go to some other database on Coruscant to see if its on a map? Wack
It's wild that this is a universe where some people live for hundreds or even thousands of years? And yet
Good question tho, for full accuracy do I need to add an Old Republic era helmet to my lineup?
Just finished the episode, man they nailed Thrawn's introduction and I love the design of his troopers. Nice to see some motivations get described by Baylan finally and the reintroduction scene of Ezra was perfect, Eman sounds so much like the character and looks a lot like him too, pretty great casting, look forward to seeing more of him in these next two episodes
Yep

We can read all the new books and catch up on the older ones if we haven't read some! (I am aware this is a very niche thing but hey Star Wars content is Star Wars content
No no he took a break from that
crab
@amber star psst
read the high republic
its slept on
audible free trial, light of the jedi
doooooo itttt
the audiobooks have full soundtracks and SFX
What would you say to someone to help sell the idea of the high republic?
depends, what aspect of star wars are you into
cause the high republic has got it all, good character arcs, cool powers, badass villians, unique storylines, literally just all of the characters
i wouldnt even know where to begin
i'll dm u
Holy shit, that Stormtrooper with the gold face plate is cool as fuck.
He kind of reminded me of the Legate from Fallout: New Vegas.
Filoni once again giving us animated accurate eye colours, yet refusing to give Bo green eyes 💀
The Twink death of Ezra Bridger goes down in history alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp
the twink to himbo pipeline is inescapable
Ezra went from someone who would have problems asking for the ketchup packet at a McDonald's to "your daughter calls me master now"
"Yes sir I'll bring her home by 8:30"
"She calls me daddy too"
"I'll bring her home but she came here to bring me home actually."
So, they're like moving nightsister corpses onto the chimaera right? Thrawn about to have an undead army
But with thrawn learning of ahsoka past, I really hope they don't ignore the fact he's worked with both vader and anakin. If they do I will hunt dave down
just finished watching SW:Ahsoka Episode 6.This episode can be regarded as the "momentum" that is about to begin. I really like the storyline, plot, and subplots.Thrawn's character, played by Mikkelsen, is very good and looks rather fierce and violent. I feel there is a difference between Thrawn in SW:Rebels and SW:Ahsoka, although there are slight similarities. Finally, the long wait was treated with the meeting between Wren and Bridger after the last episode of SW:Rebels season 4.
why does this actually kinda work
I know right?
beard
Are you sure that he was Jedi BOB?
I thought you were referring to Ezra with the beard
and honestly
my man slays with it
I just love Ezra right now, and he was so different when he was in SW:Rebels.
Is he different? I thought he was right on the ball
It's like the animated character came to life
@amber star yeah, I know that. He was from the animated character, but since I saw Ezra from this episode, there's much more difference that I found. For example, he looks calm and not stubborn, just like when I saw him in SW:Rebels.
I guess we'll have to wait and see!
Ok My friend.

I think I remember cases of Jedi being aware they had some other relative in the order, mostly siblings. I don't think it's probable.
Also he has a different surname 🌞
It would be very poopoo if he were like “My name wasn’t originally Baylan Skoll. It was…Baylan Kenobi.”
But I’m sure some viewers would be like “OMG Amazeballs! Garbage down my throat, please!”
Some can be so damn goofy
Never let bro cook again
I hate TBBT so I refuse to watch Young Sheldon even tho people have told me it’s better
i've seen a bunch of clips on youtube just randomly
and it does look like a competently made show
but something about the BBT association makes me wanna avoid it

This is the stupidest thing I've read today.
if we ever learn who obi's brother is that would defeat the entire thematic point of the jedi order's blindness to the harm they cause.
jfc
the fact he doesn't know means we shouldn't know
What 0 media literacy does to a mf
Obi’s brother is probably just some dude doing normal shit and having a boring Everyman life
No guys it's obvious that Obi's brother is Snoke
Obi from HG brother is Snoke? Wild
Can’t wait for this show to explain Ezra gets cloned and that clone becomes Snoke
This show really does feel like Prelude to Heir to the Empire, in hindsight
I think I was kind of expecting it to get into that sooner
Mainly because of the title drop in the trailer
And the introduction of Mount Tantiss in The Bad Batch
These shows really do feel more like a comic book franchise
Also I guess the Nightsister might act as this version of Rook
Like they'll probably kill him like how Rook did in legends
Shoutout to the guy trying to fit Rebels into Legends by saying “oh We didn’t SEE Rukh die”
I honestly think Thrawn will have a going down with his ship exploding type of fate, saying “It was so artistically done” as he walks through the bridge of the Chimera with chunks of the ship flying past him as he’s shown in slow motion
Like Pirates of the Caribbean
He'll probably get defeated by the force again
The force of the explosions
Or imagine if he’s just killed by Boba Fett, this guy who has no beef with him and is just hired to do the job lmao
I mean, if we go off that the bendu said and assume its no longer referring to the ending of rebels. Thrawn should be defeated surrounded by arms in a cold embrace
Which could work here if he's resurrecting a army of dead nightsister
Also it would be cool if the power baylan seeking and what the nightsisters are running from is the bendu
Ok. So how much we betting Filoni will shoe-horn Ventress in somehow
Isn't she dead though
Yeah but could be cloned or resurrected
Something stupid
Think they were even considering having her on Resistance somehow
Okay, but she died in the home galaxy. Not on Peridea
I know but
Filoni
Again I don’t want it to happen
But I wouldn’t be surprised if it did
Usually what shitpost Filoni does is within reason
Like afterall Marrok turned out to be a nobody
I honestly never expected Marrok to be anybody lol
Maybe Ahsoka or Sabine, hell even Ezra holding him like how Obi-Wan held Maul in his final moments
probably not, since the bendu wording was specifically "many arms"
What if “arms” actually means firearms?
Blasting holes into Thrawn and turning him into Chiss cheese
Filoni didn't do mando s2
Idk why since ahsoka I've seen everyone start saying all the mando s1&s2 was filoni cause that stuff was John Favreau
It's all making sense now
This feels way more in line with filoni than later mando ever did
Filoni manages the whole TV side
He's written, directed, and produced for the show
He's the sole reason Ahsoka even appeared in the show at all
It's Favreau's baby, but Filoni is heavily involved
yeah but thats the only episode in season 2 he directed, and he only wrote for afew episodes in season 2
and 1 episode in season 1
he wasnt HEAVILY involved till BOBF and season 3, id say
after the really positive reception to ahsoka in s2
i mean he WAS involved yea
but the episode where bo-katan shows up filoni wasnt super involved in, im sure hed get her to do the contacts if he was like directing s2 more is my point
Star Wars fans be like: “okay but imagine this in LIVE ACTION though 😩😩😩”
335
The point I was making is he had the power to give Bo green eyes if he wanted, but he chose not to
Nothing to do with who wrote and directed what
did he have the power to give green contacts to a character that starred in an episode he didnt direct tho?
like thats what im saying is he may have not been on set to make that decition before they'd already filmed some scenes with her without contacts
so even if he wanted to it would be too late
or he just didnt care about the contacts back then, assuming he WAS on set making decisions for that episode
And don’t get me started on Saw Gerrera’s changing eye colours 😤
Literally ruined my immersion and retroactively all of Star Wars
Ezra when Sabine tells him she betrayed #Ahsoka and helped Thrawn to get him back:
2213
204
I'm gonna use that from now on, Chiss Cheese is genius
SHUT THE FUCK UP
SHUT UP
Is that another blue cheese?
if anything i think she would’ve fulfilled marrok’s role
Abeloth is basically one of the Mortis gods right?
if this happens im walking into filoni’s office and blowing my brains out to change the trajectory of his life
Yeah she’s The Mother and the main villain of the Fate of the Jedi novels
Weird how those novels don’t mention Ahsoka at all
I actually thought Abeloth was an interesting villain, ngl
Was it before Ahsoka was created?
Weird
If it was like 2007-2009 it would make more sense since Ahsoka wasn't that liked
Kinda felt like novels at the time outside of the Clone Wars period didn’t know what to do with her in terms of looking back
I mean if it was 2007-2009, Abeloth wouldn’t be the Mother 🌞
Obi-Wan Kenobi show feels like it was made in 2007, what with the lack of Ahsoka mention
And just the quality in general lol
That and Cody
HOW CAN U NOT MENTION CODY IN AN OBI-WAN SHOW??? THAT'S LIKE NEVER MENTIONING REX IN AN ANAKIN OR AHSOKA PROJECT
Frankly Obi Wan feels like something spat out to get the producers and the fans to shut up about bringing back Ewan McGregor as Obi Wan.
What a bunch of wieners
Real
And they used it as an excuse to experiment with some different choices in directing, photography, soundtrack, etc.
At times footage from Obi Wan appears more overtly digital than in other SW series and that I think was intentional.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again
Obi-Wan Kenobi should’ve been a film, and Solo should’ve been a TV series
Like Daiyu was a very visually interesting planet
Was that the one people thought was Coruscant?
Yes
Kenobi with a blaster in the underworld kinda has Daniel Radcliffe looking crazy holding guns energy lol
And I mean that in a good way
Why is it so hard to find the concept art of the duel at the end of Obi-Wan Kenobi where instead of a planet with weird rock things they’re dueling by a giant dragon skeleton?
Hey, is Thrawn the first Chiss we've ever actually seen in canon?
Live action canon anyway, right?
Ezra: #Ahsoka just told me you willingly helped Thrawn return
Sabine:
1167
Yeah
Really! That's pretty neat!
You're sure there was never one like in the background of some cantina scene?
I forgot we saw a few Duros in the background one time, and once I remembered I was like "WAIT THEN WHY DID CAD BANE LOOK SO GOOFY??"
I'm gonna say something controversial, Duros are just Chiss but like 68% more alien
Cad Bane was missing the big ass forehead
his eyes where also super lower
looks like his entire head got scaled down or some shit
but his mouth and eyes stayed normal size
What being old does to a Duro
“anakin project”
You know what I mean
klaus when he realizes captain rex does not appear in the prequel trilogy despite his prominence in TCW: 😿😿😿😿
You remind me of a roach
#Ahsoka

It's the hat, the center is wide enough to let him cover the forehead.
It was the same in Clone Wars, but with a much wider brim as well.
yes im extremely racist twords aliens, long live the empire & all that
yea but damn he must just have a smaller forehead than you're average duros lol, i figured that his head was REALLY crammed into that had lmaoo
and i can excuse the weird face shape by saying yeah ig he just old af
The weird face shape it's just because they either used mocap or prosthetics in live action and the normal Duros face was difficult to match.
Frankly I didn't even notice the difference until people pointed it out, unlike with the Grand Inquisitor and that other one in Obi Wan.
I'm not sure we have seen Duros move their mouth in live action before. 🤔
Fifth brother
You mean that other one?
Yeah
I mean hey I'm sure most people don't know his name who haven't watched Rebels lol
Idk if this is a hot take but I almost kinda hate Fifth Brother's look more in Kenobi than Grand Inquisitor
Both are bad translations though
lowkey he already looked like shit in rebels
the one in kenobi was a bad adaptation but i didnt rly care as much
His eyes are so blue, it looks like he's been huffing spice on Arrakis
hottake but i like how unnaturally blue his eyes are
it lends credence to my theory of him being 1/4 twilek
Hence why I think his family was meant to have alien blood otherwise they would have let him keep his normal eye color like they did with Katee Sachoff.
^^^
Like you look at Hera, her eyes are brightgreen. And her half-human son has green hair.
Ezra had black-blue hair and super bright blue eyes in the animated series. And his eyes are still the same kind of brightness as Hera in live action.
So my headcanon is that Ezra has blue twilek blood in him.
Probably not Twi'lek though
What??
I just think you guys might be reading too much into it but hey cheers to you if you're right 🍻
it's a headcanon lol
based
cant confirm or deny it but thats my theory
fair
Jacen kinda opened the door for the idea of humans with natural technicolour hair
so i see Ezra with his blue hair in season 1 and its like..
Fair, I could see that
Like we know Twi'lek/Human hybrids are more human than Twi'lek
yeah
Also that'd just be cool, two Twi'lek descendents related to Kanan Jarrus
yeah lol. It's just a nice thing to consider given all we know
doesn't affect the lore at all
another contributing factor thats probably a stretch is how adamant Hera was at recruiting Ezra early on. Some instinctual affection.
Hera was very secretive in the prequel novel and tried not to stay around too many people. But she takes an immediate liking to ezra
Ezra is obviously Thrawn’s son
Hence both having blue hair in animation
Thrawn did the Chiss kiss and more and then bottle bong bottle boom! Boss baby Bridger
Are you high?
Bawn
I feel bad for Lars Mikkelsen in getting cast as a muscular guy with hair, as he's the opposite
On the one hand, it would be nice if bulked up, but on the other he's old and should be allowed to look however he wants
On a similar note, it's nice seeing a series of shows with stars over 50 - Temuera Morrison, Ming Na Wen, Lars Mikkelsen
They're actually acknowledging old people exist, lol
it would be funny if thrawn just stopped working out when he was banished lol
True, star whales caused his mid-life crisis
Nah I don’t get high
I don’t really think of Thrawn as being muscular
Maybe when the Empire found him but that’s it
That was like a couple decades or so before this
Ezra got hot goddamn
Wait is it spelt Baylon or Baylan
the latter
Thank you
I’m not gay, but $20 is $20.
That $20:
Who hurt him?
Filoni and Favreau are partners
They’re like the two headed announcer at the podrace
They fucking?
They roleplay as Paz and Chopper
I can't believe they brought back Commander Meluron
Hasbro please give me phase 1 clone
God Ezra was so perfectly cast
they already did that lol
but they do need to make more
have an excuse to make a phase 1 501st now
They did a phase 2, with one recolor so far
I fully expect them to just go nuts and make recolors for like literally every battalion and regiment and everything
I mean if you've already got the mould, right?
But I'm keeping my eye out for that Phase 1
I'm hopeful, now that Ahsoka gave us some live action clones
Oh well yeah sorry, that one's a figure, but you're right haha
I was talking about the helmets sorry I shoulda clarified
People will say Star Wars needs to be taken seriously and take itself seriously and then buy a fuckton of Star Wars toys
You can do both
You know what? Fuck Star Wars. By telling more stories about wars going on forever we’re just perpetuating the idea that wars need to happen 😤
Ahsoka is the idiots who think having wars in your movie means you want to start wars
I need to keep reminding myself that the average Star Wars fan is like actually braindead
this server is ground zero for braindead star wars fans
but we’re braindead in a different way i suppose
Braindead? I kinda prefer Dead Alive
Instantly. Good to know I'm not the only one
He is also like, ten years older and he was already either pushing 40 or 50 last time we've seen him. Old age comes for everyone.
lmfaoooooo
forgot after i watched but it was my immediate thought lol
theyre ab to drop a crazy album
also enoch looks so peak
Made with a real chiss oil
Space Moses
Thrawn doing the classic dickhead move of allowing you to stew on the stupidity of your question, while savouring his response
his expression is so funny
on only a mildly related note
am i the only one who thinks morgan elsbeth’s acting is kind of ass 💀
No, she's pretty bland
she has the fucking fortnite accent sometimes
at some point shes like “nothing will pwevent ouw jouwney” 😭
am i the only one that thinks most of the acting is kind of ass 💀
and i dont think its the actors fault
filoni is used to voice direction not physical direction
its really just inexperience in the medium.
and limitations with the TV show budget and tech
not for the acting but visually, anyway
mando s1 was wrote with the limits of the volume in mind, that and being directed by john Favreau who was heavily involved in the development of the volume so he was extremely familiar with the technology
but the volume was so well received they started letting anyone use it, and thats how we got visuals like kenobi 😬
a lot of it is kinda wooden yeah but at least most of it feels passable
morgan feels like a middle school play performance lmao
lmaoo shes just like a little goblin all the time
like "heHEHEhehE"
smirking
like thats it
mid ass villain
lmfaoo
baylan carries
that and my baby blue 💙
i wonder what’ll happen to thrawn after this show
imagine he just fucking dies after two eps of reappearing lmfao
lol just realized u can straight up see enoch in the background of that shot
ig i noticed Some Guy there the whole time but its funny in hindsight
Watched 6. And there were things I liked and things I was underwhelmed.
Bayland so far is the best character and the scenery and art direction of the location are solid but I can't help but feel it's undercooked. It's...incurious. Like the characters aren't treating this as amazingly as it should be. They just travelled to another galaxy and the reaction is like they stubbled on some old ruins in a slightly remote place. Baylan comments on how there are stories about the place but tells none. We see Thrawn looking at a galactic map, possibly getting updated on the geopolitics but no lines about that, he doesn't even interrogate Sabine. There's stormtroopers but no isd staff, officers or low rank personal. It's like the retake of mandalore all over again, just a BBEG and his goon army, not a living, breathing organisation and location.
We may very well get the backstory of all of this in the next episode but it's weird there's next to nothing about it. It's just "Ah yes, you've come to rescue me, wonderful, now chop chop I have tea on Saturday". And this comes from both Thrawn and Ezra, the latter treats getting rescued after nearly a decade in another galaxy, living among crab hobbits as if he was gone for a couple of years in the system over.
Maybe I'm being too harsh on this show but a part of me says it was slightly rushed. Like there are some concepts that look good on a brainstorming board but never got the time to be fleshed out before filming began.
I know it can feel like I'm bitching and moaning about not getting all the answers right away but it really feels like there should be a more incremental display of information about the lore of this place rather than a set up and explain it later approach.
All the references and art direction are nice treats but they feels like just that, treats.
I wouldn't call the episode straight up bad or horrible but I do feel disappointed to some extent.
Also as a side note. I still don't feel we needed to come all the way to another galaxy so far
Ayo this fr?
Yes
Well yeah
I don't even know if I wanna know if this is a flashback or if somehow they're alive with thrawn and ezra
You haven’t been watching?
I watched the first five
Then get out and watch the next one!
See but I stopped cause I decided I wasn't enjoying it after already giving it a second shot after giving up after episode three 😭
I just saw this and couldn't help but ask
I know I know, I have a problem
Well, do you want to know or not
I think it's not the same Nightsisters from CW and Rebels, those are dead and these live in another galaxy.
Still Nightsisters though.
They’re from another galaxy
Well it was revealed the nightsisters are originally from peridea and were the first to ride the purrgil. Some were left in the original galaxy, which are the 3 we see in the show and they're vibing with thrawn
Also some of the glyphs in the episode are the same as the ones from fallen order
Which I think might have been a mistake? Since I'm 90% the glyphs in fallen order are supposed to be zeffo, not nightsister
are those not different glyphs
They're not 100% 1:1. But they're way too similar to the zeffo glyphs to be a coincidence
Also zeffo architecture was used in concept art, which honestly could have just been a place holder and this accidentally ended up saying, somebody forgetting to replace it in the final drafts
actually nvm they also show up in the thrawn poster and a few other scenes. Somebody would really have to fuck up If it was just a placeholder and ended up showing up in multiple different shots and promo stuff
It would be interesting if the zeffo are present in some way though, especially considering we know dave likes to stop people from using characters and plot threads if he has plans for them, and it was kinda weird how jedi survivor just completely dropped and handwaved the zeffo
i didnt like any of the previous episodes, i'll say tho this one was my favorite
still wasnt perfect but its by far the best episode imo
watch it if you want
if not you can wait till its all out and gauge if you wanna finish it
My name is Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo or Thrawn and this is Jackass, today we are driving drunk while in my Imperial-class Star Destroyer alongside this Lothal twink and some Purrgil, let's try not to go to another galaxy
nah ill watch it all cause it's based

Literally, pinged me into the thread
Also Ezra has never been a twink the hell you talking about
i wasnt talking to you 😭
Oh shit he has a beard now
i was
inplodes
I don't know why...but for some reason in this picture he reminds me of Ben Stiller
i do think the contacts are a bit much
perfect casting
but the contacts on most of these characters take away from the actors performances sometimes (havent seen enough of ezra yet)
they're just like
stealing my soul 😭
they're so bright
honestly with all the animation to live action translation errors i dont think people would even give a shit if their eyes are the wrong colors
Bro was hanging out with Paul from Dune for a bit
I'll be honest I assumed it was the poster
man has been living with the TMNT for like a decade
I was more talking about his eyebrows and general face shape
But yeah they do look strange
yeah wait why is ezras hair like a bluish
like in animation
i'd say @torpid stag was right about the twi'lek theory but in live action its just brown so
To indicate that Thrawn is secretly his father
Maybe it’s a homage to how comic books used to not be able to use the color black because it wouldn’t print well, so they used blue instead
I believe they called his short haircut the "blueberry" look on the star wars show back in the day
yeah that makes sense
but does that mean all the dark blue hair in the show is black
😭
“This week on…The STAAAAR Wars Show!”
Ah the good ole days
Thrawn’s hair is now black too I think
my god
I wonder if coloring her hair that often is causing it to get damaged
Yeah maybe she has a disease now
if ezras hair is dark brown/black, sabines has to be that too right
Maybe there's like a special kinda hair dye in star wars that keeps it from getting damaged

The more I look at Rebels, the more I kinda wish it was claymation
I need extensive lore on Star Wars hair dye
should've been 2d if they were going for the concept art look
That'd be neat
Also always thought maybe ReBoot influenced Rebels a bit
lmaoo
The animation never grew on me
Enzo’s journey feels similar to Ezra in places
I guess technically none of it grew on me lol
screaming, crying, throwing up
It’s like, we get it, you lost your parents, become Batman or get over it
He's a fucking twink to himbo
Klaus that's called a child growing up
this is gonna be the new "my grandma put up this picture of jesus but it's obi-wan"
Even more accurate now because Jesus was also brown
Klaus is down like 6 different pipelines and idk which one he will come out of first
I was waiting for them to go "Double double toil and trouble, fire burn and caldron bubble"
Rian Johnson moment
Goddammit lol
"Haha bet u diddent expect that!"
Still think it’s weird as hell that some of the people who speculated about Snoke’s origin turned around and said “oh yeah I never cared about him” after seeing his death
I mean I still care??
Yeah I still kinda care, though it’s surely different from what was intended when TFA was being made
I hope that Filoni's able to kind of retroactively give us some much needed context to the sequels that helps us appreciate them more
Like this whole era eventually leads up to the creation of the First Order, right?
I don’t think Filoni could vastly change my opinion of the sequels, but could perhaps make the threads of the franchise feel a bit more unified
Like, TCW improves the era, but not my experience of actually watching the prequel movies
Mmm I would say I feel the opposite, personally
Like, TCW doesn’t change the acting
I think knowing what happens in the show (at least somewhat) improves my watching experience
Or the convolutedness of the plan in AOTC
Like Order 66 on its own in the movie might seem kind of like... oh?? Were they just? Planning this all along? What, were all the clones just... faking it the whole time? Why are they doing this?
But taking the show into account it's like
This is actually... unbelievably sad what the--
Yeah that’s fair
Some things get more context, but there are also certain things that just don’t change for me
Like, even devoting an episode to a Sifo Dyas investigation and then seeing a ghastly vision of him didn’t make him feel like a necessary background character to me
Hell he didn’t really feel like a character to me until Dooku: Jedi Lost. Which came out, what, 17 years after Attack of the Clones?
That's also fair tbh
I think it’s mainly Revenge of the Sith that gets enhanced, come to think of it
The show retroactively makes Maul’s defeat in TPM not disappointing. Because the show ran with the ramifications of that, how it would affect him psychologically, and then made him a much deeper character than he is in the movie
Yeah Maul surviving was initially like
???
But they do some incredible stuff with it
He acted like his brother was a subordinate, but the look on his face when Savage was killed said everything
And then later when he tells Ezra “we could have been brothers”
Meanwhile
Mfer forgot AP-5
cosplay goals
who’s that guy again?
pictured is the best scene in star wars
AP-5 erasure hurts my soul
I liked Mando s3 more than s2, but s3 should’ve been s4.
Just waiting for Andor to be hated after s2
I don’t think it will
It highly depends on how Tony Gilroy and co stick the landing
Tysm
dude thats from my script
Lucasfilm writers truly need to copy from the real artists here
@SWTheory66 @ATATChat @chadthedad7 Oh awesome; then I must ask since I have you, what is going on in this scene?
you're so right
carrie fisher said star wars is about family.
But nah its about this
Ever since I stopped even acknowledging the existence of SWT, his fans and YouTubers similar to him I started enjoying Star Wars even more
tbh same
SWT fell really hard into obscurity really fast and I love it
the best he gets now is just people memeing clips of him on twitter
It's weird though, because YouTube still pushes the fuck out of him. Like I can be searching for any star wars content and it's just him and other scum of the earth
Everyone’s gonna say it felt rushed because of its structure of 3-episode arcs each taking place in different years leading up to Rogue One
Boimler explicitly dyes his hair in the series, there's even a joke about him not wanting the other crew members to find out his real hair color.
It's not uncommon in animation to use blue or dark blye to render black hair, Eliza Maza in Gargoyles also had blue hair for example.
What exactly did they fuck up with Thrawn?
They are pissed he can't cheat with the Ysalamiri.
Speaking of Rebels specifically. He looks competent more so in comparison to the other imperial officers in that show rather on a level of his own. He has his moments of brilliance but most of his intelligence feats are just employing sensible strategies. Makes him underwhelming.
The one in Ahsoka hasn't done anything yet worthy of complaint but also seems to have been stuck in a time capsule.
some change wouldve been cool
Thrawn can't lose and he lost in Rebels a couple of times, therefore character ruined
All these goobers want is for Thrawn to be unbeatable, that would be boring as shit
The two Apprentices.
Watch #Ahsoka, now streaming on @DisneyPlusUK.
💖 10
I know but just the lengths they went to keep that accurate lol
Greg Weisman worked on both shows, funny enough
He created Gargoyles and worked on Rebels season 1 and wrote the Kanan comics
Dude is getting attacked on Twitter for being progressive in his Young Justice storytelling. People are being stupid and he’s laying down what’s always been true of his storytelling sensibilities
I remember one twitter from a guy that had a weird discussion with a conservative friend about Gargoyles, his friend basically said that Gargoyles if made today (as in: the exact same show) would be woke but since it was made in the 90s he was fine with it (EDIT: in the sense that since it wasn't made today it wasn't woke).
Like, I can't tell if that guy was being self aware or the exact opposite.
When even Star Wars UK ships them
yeah we brought this up, and whilst yes this is probably what it is, its funny that other characters in the show with black hair just have black hair
but yeah the dark blue probably meant black lmaoo
just funny they changed it in later seasons
once he gets the haircut it looks alot more black too 👀
still a tiny bit blue tho
maybe twilek human hybrids only have brightly coloured hair when they're younger and steadily grow out of it
why jacen's is green rn but might not be forever
We really are overthinking this lmao

its also a lighter green than when he was but a lad
Don’t be witchist
That's actually edited really well.
I think I hate this scene more than I hate the prequels
i love how horrible it is and how it completey invalidates any credibility SWT may have previously had as a film critic.
but yes besides that i agree
Remember when he complained about the bricks and screws in Andor
If something doesn’t have anakin or lightsaber porn he hates it
repost to scare SWT
He made a video about the Lando movie and all it was about was “I want to see Darth Maul train Qira”
Like dude

i like ahsoka but on the whole i also agree with that. we need a show that has the capacity to hold off from showing off a lightsaber
I liked it in the originals when the force seemed mystical and seeing a Jedi was like seeing a myth come to life
Not this prequel shit they’ve brought into post-ROTJ
what is with this new(as in the past several years) obsession star wars fans have w adapting shit that has already been put out in books or comics
cause SW fans dont read
since when was star wars about adapting existing material
