#Andor

I would’ve been fine with this being kept. You could use dark side sorcery as some sort of explanation. Maybe Palpating disguised himself for certain transmissions in case someone not in the know walks in.
Or just accept it’s the same character and just looks kinda different because it’s different actor/makeup whatever
how palp felt saying that the guy he kept in a constantly painful death suit seemed “agitated”
I’m starting to think maybe they were never really friends
It always reminded me of when you make glasses with your fingers
canon
you know, I kinda wish we got to see bor gullett
I am not the same person I was one Andor season ago
I saw someone complain that Andor makes the sequels worse because all of that is for nothing now
But looking at the real world.. it’s not that far off
Andor makes A New Hope worse because everyone on Alderaan fuckin’ dies so it’s all for nothing now
What do you MEAN another bad guy came along after 30 years?! That’s impossible!!
everyone knows that peace is eternal
there was only one war ever and once the bad guys were stopped everything was sunshine and rainbows
And if, hypothetically there was, they would be related somehow. There’s only one bad family in the universe
It’s not the new emoire rising that’s the problem. It’s the new republic
The government they all sacrificed to create falls into pure corruption less than 5 years after its creation. And then it’s completely destroyed in a single blow by a big Death Star
Like, that just fucking sucks
💀
I look at it through a Doctor Who lens
The Twelfth Doctor has this big speech about how maybe nothing matters but he can save lives for just a bit longer
well at least they didnt delete the scenes giving literally any context to the political state of the galaxy in the force awakens

if I had a nickel for every time in the main star wars films they poorly explained how a fascist regime took over the galaxy, I'd have two nickels
Schrodinger’s Empire is how I like to describe the First Order
They can never decide whether they’re a sizeable military group or a Galaxy spanning Empire
I think they’re okay for just being a relatively unknown invading force comprised of fascists from the old Empire that want to reconquer the galaxy but the problem is we never see them take over, they just take over off screen during The Last Jedi and it’s told to us in the text crawl
Then in TROS we only really see Kijimi under occupation
The original version of TROS probably would have explained it better considering the main plot of it revolved around the first order invading coruscant
It's another classic example of star wars hand waving away the details cause "well that stuff happens irl so you guys can just fill in the gaps with whatever you think makes the story satisfying"
I understand pacing is a concern but you could write scenes that forward the characters AND give you context for the world they inhabit
It's almost like the main characters should each represent a different aspect of the galaxy to help build the world out from their perspective

In a technical sense kinda yeah, he gets to be the token non-human character
This COULD have been the sequels
Having a nobody scavenger, an ex-fascist soldier and a hotshot pilot
Kinda off topic but for some reason this reminds me of when George Lucas added in the bit of all the planets across the galaxy celebrating the death of the emperor and they basically recreated the tearing down of Saddam Hussein’s Statue just without the shoe
I always say Finn should've been a voluntary FO member so we can hear his side of why people would ever support them
It all goes back to me absolutely loving the main cast and what could have been
I also have come around to the idea that if Rey had been one of Luke's other students that would've been a nice way to contextualize the Jedi's failings a bit better since Kylo didn't get to say much about it in the first movie
And if Hux got more to do he'd be a good gateway into the political side of things
They really could have had a side plot between him and Leia in the New Republic early on
The New Republic shouldn’t have been just deleted
they were too busy ripping off the Original Trilogy to do any of that
And TLJ takes place literal days after TFA so it’s like wtf
People go like “oh but it’s realistic and it represents fascism coming back”
But that idea isn’t exactly well put out
The thing the Prequels were really saying is that fascism isn’t some invading force most of the time, it seeps into government
Having the First Order be a full outside evil that suddenly destroys everything is just not at all realistic for that comparison
I don’t mind that aspect because yet again Nazi Germany was an invading force too
I mean yeah but the Nazis were born from the German government
Ot just started attacking its neighbours and allat
Yeah but where did Nazi Germany originate
Not kidnapped babies reprogrammed and space cultists
Hitler didn’t force himself into power, he was elected
I am not denying it’s a stupid origin
Just that I don’t mind it’s an outside invading force
Oh yeah neither do I, I just think it’s a bad example of the resurgence of fascism
The idea of outside invading force coming in and forcing the current government to rethink themselves was done really well with the yuuzhan Vong in the past
That’s why I think the failures of the New Republic in stopping this would have been good subject material for examples of failures to learn from one’s history
Especially with their real world parallels to Imperial Japan and the US’s response to them
This being the main issue I have with all of that being buried in books and other media, it’s something that us thematically more interesting and important
I think it's kinda hard to make the threat an invading force without doing a whole "unknown regions" story and personally I find that whole concept extremely stupid
It really sucks to me, because these very ideas they were trying to do were done before and way better in the NJO books with the Yuuzhan Vong conflict
Ironically the movies people were crying over because muh politics in strt ward are the least political and most sauceless
The NJO books have the New Republic having to reflect on how they can stop history from repeating, and a way to end the conflict without it devolving into fascist-like force ideals
Tyrannids > Vong 100%
I have a spot for the edge of the Vong as a child of 2000s Star Wars, but that concept fits Warhammer better than it
don't know anything about warhammer
whammer
Tyrannids are also a biotechnology faction that are invading from outside of the known difference
Also they're better Xenomorphs
given how balls to the walls warhammer looks it does sound like it makes more sense
Also, the Tyrannids are the faction most likely to win if the Imperium didn't have the most plot armor
Their fleet has barely entered the 40k universe and they're already a end time threat
Lol
What are those aliens from mars in Warhammer that were buried underground?
i was just thinking ab this movie
Idk I never really saw the Vong as a warhammer concept
They have a bit in common with them, but not much else
They did a Reconstruction era essentially, way too focused on reconciliation to truly eradicate the underlying problems that kept the Empire in place.
Too busy restoring the Republic to notice that the majority of the Republic was corrupt
It's not that, it's half that they really didn't want to clean the slate of most of the people that happily aquiesced on the Empire and half that they were so busy trying to make it impossible for someone at the top to reinstate the Empire that forgot a government must be able to actually enact policies.
The New Republic didn't even have a fixed institutionalized executive, everything was done in the senate and half the senate was made of people that were openly nostalgic for the Empire.
It also helps that only a handful of people knew the extent of Palpy's machinations so a lot of people could still be convinced he was still the saviour of the Republic against the Separatists.
As far as any serious history person and the average citizen knew before Exogol, Darth Vader was just some random freak he recruited to help against the Jedi traitors not his apprentice.
I still find it unfathomably hilarious that his wife told him “think of our son” and he pulled the trigger

Absolutely insane
My dad did that once
It’s crazy how well Andor fits into Rogue One, they did such an incredible job
The way Andor ends felt exactly how the way RO ends. Very To Be Continued
True
“Luthen and Kleya are in trouble”
The rest of the Rebellion: “they’re extremists, we don’t need to help them”
Cassian and Melshi:
Rebellions are built on hope. Experience the story of the Rebellion in one epic video that combines Andor, Rogue One and the original Star Wars trilogy.

Y’all think we’ll get Andor S2 on 4K and Blu-ray at some point?
I hope so
Well my first season Blu Ray has a big "1" on the spin so I assume so
Just depends on how much money the ones already out have been making for Disney.
Ok so imagine Xenomorphs were all connected to a hive mind and their ultimate goal was to consume everything. Literally everything that's even remotely bio processable. "They can reduce Earth to be as barren as Mercury" everything. And they get smarter the more they consume, like the flood in halo. They also gene edit themselves to adapt to threats so for example: say they are fighting an opponent who keeps shooting at them from long range, they will literally develop a new creature that has a long range canon appendage that shots acid or a live hardened larva that also explodes when it strikes something. Or they'll just produce a lot of small flying creatures to overwhelm whatever is shooting. They can be as large as the death star or as small as a maggot.
But their behaviour is still mostly animalistic.
It's best to think of them as an ant colony if it figured out how to do space travel.
There's a pretty cool excerpt describing a space station being swallowed by one of their ships if you want to get an idea of what they are about

Frank Sinatra's "My Way," remixed with Andor and Rogue One.
I just recently finished Andor and it was so good that it brought me out of retirement. This is no doubt one of the best Star Wars projects Disney has ever given to us. The whole show was incredible and I am eag...
It was either here or in #meme-junkyard :
Which version of Niamos is the preferred one?
There’s a few mixes and remixes of them on Apple Music and Spotify.
I’m still depressed that there are no more new episodes of Andor. I am mad at Andor. He should’ve kept making more.
Just had to go die because of that Death Star
I can't wait for the comic adaptation in ten years to have all the things they had to cut out when they went from five seasons to two.
Trueee
Is this the Zootopia version of Andor?
catgirls have been here long before the disney regime and they will continue to thrive long after
Mf has never seen a furry before
Fuckin’ furries, man
