Both happen in 2BBY
He hasn't left Coruscant in Andor
He mentioned Yavin already and how it wasn't ready
No bail was orchestrating mothma getting to yavin. Yavin wasn't a fully established base during rebels
So he wasn't there
Nothing is broken
No, the rebels had multiple bases
Everything kinda fits in
Yavin wasn't the main one at this point
They had Dantooine
Yavin only became the main one in 1BBY
Chopper base was the main outpost for the rebellion until mothma formed the alliance with her speech in rebels
Honestly they’re frustrations though at having to work around Mon’s speech in Rebels is understandable
It's wonky but it worked in the end
Chopper had a base? Good for him
But like, they're just making it more complicated than it needed to be. They easily could have just said the empire aired a edited version after the fact.
Which is what was heard in rebels
Gold squadron ended up dropping Mon off for a haircut before her big speech
Well he found the planet so they named the base after him
If they named a rebel base after Chopper that means Luthen 100% knows who Chopper is
the mellroons
Well they went back and forth between chopper and home base. But chopper base was the main name
Luthen probably enjoyed Chopper’s eagerness to commit war crimes against the Empire
I need to rewatch at least the last two seasons of Rebels
I'm on season 3 in my rewatch
Luthen dying right before the Rebellion finally destroys the Death Star is peak irony
They should retcon Luthen into sounding like RFK Jr just because
I could never watch Rebels on a yearly basis
Cursed
Oh no, I love Rebels xD
It’s fascinating to me how Luthen struggles to adapt to the new ways of the Rebellion and is still very willing to stay away from it and the Yarvin base
But it'd be too much
Rebels is fine but it's like
boring for most episodes without important character moments
It's a fine show but it's WILDLY overrated
Cassian's friend said the line
THE EMPIRE IS ADDING SEED OILS TO THE MEILOORUN STEW AND FLOURIDE IN THE JAWA JUICE
I'm happy this one random kid Cassian sympathised with said something to him that resonated with him years later
NO
Nah its incredibly underrated.
Rebels love isn't even remotely popular broadly in the community 😭
Its just the few people that legitimately love it are mentally ill about the series. Like me
Idk I've seen universal praise for the most part
I’ve got a funny joke
Especially the later seasons
I didn't like what they did to Sabibe and Ahsoka in the Ahsoka show
StarWars Resistance
I frequently find myself in the minority in a lot of places for not really loving it as much others
Hera was great
Get the fuck out of my chat, now
The glorious Enmilfication of Hera
NO
Personally I like it more than the clone wars.
Like the clone wars has the better overall arcs. But rebels has more going for me start to finish
I haven’t actually seen the early seasons of the Clone Wars in quite some time
Especially the Meiloorun episode
Peak
Though to be honest I’m still burned out on Filoni content
In time I’ll return
But it ain’t TCW
Rebels has a ton of filler for me
And then Season 7
Way too much
I think it’s hilarious that TCW animation style has now just become the animated style
That new Darth Maul show is also in Clone Wars animation
Nah rebels legitimately barely has filler past season 1.
Almost everything is important to the characters or story by the end
also in some cases I prefer The Bad Batch over Rebels
BUT THE BAD BATCH IS WORSE WITH THIS
Your average Crosshair episode is better then most of Rebels
My guy Wilmon
At least in rebels it all comes together with everybody the ghost crew met coming together to free lothal.
Bad batch just does shit for the sake of having it
Rebels isn’t dark enough for my liking, cope issue I know but I don’t like that it never goes far with its concepts and seems to lack the maturity at times to do so
I feel like a lot of the themes it tried to explore were like dipping your toes into a pool rather than diving in because it was constrained to a kids show
A lot of the later season stuff is pretty serialized which I love
And it had some pretty neat concepts all things considered
I just wish it would go deeper with them
I never mind it because the narrative focus was always on the characters and the family
Also the Mandalorian arc in rebels is legitimately better than most of their stuff in cw and mando
Siege of Mandalore and Death Watch are like untouchable for me. They can’t make anything better with the Mandos imo
Siege of Mandalore is one of the best few episodes of Star Wars content we've ever gotten
I remember when that came out
That’s how I felt again last night watching Episode 8
It was like Christmas
Peak
Eh I think everything death watch stuff suffers from mandalore not really being explored properly. Like for how much mandalorians are featured in the clone wars. They never really explore the conflict there.
Like eating the best steak
Rebels I think one, has the best characterisation for bo. And is actually able to explore the root of mandalorian culture and conflict. As its able to directly explore it through sabine actions in the imperial academy and the fact it brings more mandalorians into the spotlight
I remember when the Siege of Mandalore arc first came out, COVID had just started and it was amazing
After the other episodes of Season 7 were just like alright nobody could see the absolute menace of an arc that was coming
I still want to kill whoever thought it was okay to jump straight into siege and not just finish everything
Fave Diloni
It’s the fact that we’re still getting tons of Clone Wars styled content
And yet they still can’t finish those arcs
I think its basically confirmed dark disciple will at least get animated
While I do wish we got more I kinda see The Bad Batch as an epilogue to season 8. Siege was fantastic either ways
And they showed the boba/bane arc for literally no reason at celebration, that looked more complete than the other clips. So like, i think they're working on something
Also as much as I like all 3 seasons of mando.
I wish we got to see this bo-katan more
https://youtu.be/Y_2qvT98fS8?si=aNkL_wjoMD34Ibt0
The fact we are actually getting a fully animated Clone Wars Darth Maul show is still kind of insane
Sam Witwer is going to lose his voice again
I'm a bit on the fence about the Maul show
For no other reason than I think we've seen everything there was to be seen with the character
Felt the same way when they teased him in SOLO
Bruh lights up his lightsaber for no reason
Han doesn’t even meet any force users until ANH
What were they cooking
What were they setting up
I kinda am in a state where I'm fine with no more maul. Since his ending in rebels is great.
But I also wouldn't mind seeing more.
If they don’t use this opportunity to round up Qi’ra as a character what even is the point
I agree with the top part lol
I'm mainly concerned on the fact sam is like incredibly brain poisoned when it comes to george and really wants to use his ideas 😭
I trust Sam to keep Filoni in check because he's done it before
For the first part of the massacre it kinda reminded me of the scene on Jedha in Rogue One when Jyn and Cassian got caught up in the crossfire between the Empire and Saw's Partisans with how there was no music just pure chaos
Sam is literally like a great dude. But he always has to try and see the best I George's ideas and even when their dogshit.
Which tbf he's also like the one person at lucasfilm who can make george and Dave eh ideas sound cool. But at a point you need to just admit this shits ass
I just remember all the Clone Wars BTS footage of George continually begging or striving to find a way to bring Maul back
Literally introduced Savage as a “Maul 2.0” before saying fuck it and actually bringing back Maul
Lucas being one of the continuous people trying to make Maul’s return happen is so funny
Like if you cared so much about the dude why’d you give him no personality in the first place
I hate this channel so much.
But its always cool to see sam behind the scenes stuff

#darthvader #darthmaul #samwitwer #lucasfilm #disney #davefiloni
Are you a fan of Sam Witwer, aka the voice of Darth Maul, The Son of Mortis, Emperor Palpatine?
His love of Star Wars is palpable.
Sam talks about the last jedi, and how he respects peoples opinions on the movie, even if he disagrees with it.
Sam witwer & Dave Filoni (New Creati...
I love that Sam is the most level headed person about Starkiller
It's nice that he's self aware about him
Its actually funny seeing sam be this chill level headed guy who loves everybody at lucasfilm.
Then you look at his "fans" and they're all insane and the complete opposite of him
If Sam ever turns out to be problematic I will fkn kms
People just hate Starkiller because he's a silly little guy and Sam's just like "He's a protagonist from a God of War clone, chill out" lmao
I'd love from them to like fully kratos starkiller and make him a actual character
But it would probably piss off the weirdos, who also god weird when kratos was turned into a character in 2018
I'm also pretty sure sam would love to do that
Starkiller has a character arc, its just pretty generic
Like he's a white guy who learns that being a dark side force user is wrong
Yeah but that's also og kratos
Just in the opposite direction
Like kratos had a arc. It was just pretty boring narratively even if the actions were fun
Okay real talk. The massacre was indeed awful and genocide. But I was expecting something bigger. Like bombing a village until it’s just a lake of flames big
Tbh I was expecting orbital bombardment
Honestly this isn’t something I thought about during the episode, I worried thinking it was going to be mediocre in scope but I thought they actually did a great job at capturing the force of the Empire through the city
SAME! I was waiting for those TIEs to drop a present
They make up for it by making it slow and personal
I was mainly thinking since they kept mentioning there being a fuck ton of star destroyers in orbit.
I was fully expecting them to turn the turbo lasers on the city
I think they wanted it to be that way having spent a few episodes focused on the particular Ghorman rebel conflict
I think I just had in my head a mixture of Hiroshima and the Fire Lord at the end of Avatar TLA
You think the bothans incident was similar to this? Or maybe more spread out like the end of Rogue One?
Find out in the hit Movie, Bothens One: A Star Wars Story
I still want to complain about the lack of weird aliens
Add it to the pile of SW genocides
Also still don't look how coruscant looks in the show.
Just idk, doesn't feel like the planet
The diversity of Yavin kinda helped me
I like our new red visor glup shitto
Coruscant is supposed to feel lifeless and corporate
To emphasize the Empire’s impact on the planet
They intentionally use toned down colors as well
Coruscant used to be metallic and goddy. Under the empire everything is a doctors office at best
But idk, it just feels broadly vastly difficult from every other appearance, and i get its supposed to be different under the empire. But it might as well be a generic cyberpunk city
Frankly the new senate wouldn’t be that bad if there wasn’t an endless paranoia in the room
I know it probably has more to do with budget but I wonder if an in-universe explanation is that there's less aliens because of the empire's xenophobic presence making it more unwelcoming
The sets just look a lot less interesting than it does in the prequels and clone wars.
Which I think is largely just the fact they're using real world locations.
Which is cool to film on location. Just feels like it's coming at the cost of coruscant feeling like coruscant
Don’t worry they got the French atmospheres down though
Or just like a star wars location
The interior felt SW
I do also dislike the smaller sets. Like I don't feel like i know ghorman because it was like a single square and a few streets
the interior sets are beautiful though
Maybe they were stretching the budget with the outdoor sets
Also the senate looked as shit. Which was probably the worse use od cgi in the show
They kinda tried to make it better by blurring the background. But it was kinda hard not to notice when I realised mothma looked incredibly out of place and nothing was moving behind her
Idk, but this immediately made me think of some the restaurants in Disney world. Like something from Frontierland or Main Street. Something very campy and old fashioned
There’s a lot of shops and places like that in cities like New Orleans that are quite similar
A lot of it shockingly of course being based on French architecture
Also any fight in a bar just gives me cowboy vibes
Except there was bombs outside this one
such a valid crashout
I should watch Secret Cargo
The real secret cargo was the friends we made along the way
holy fuck
All of episode 8 had me in tears
Start to finish that was insane
BUT BIX MADE IT OUT
SHE BETTER NOT COME BACK TO DIE
Also poor Jimmy Smits could've been the first (?) actor to say shit in star wars
I hope she doesn’t die.. but I also hope they get to meet one last time..
We must kill gilroy and Disney for not delaying production long enough for him to come back
I find it so funny how Syril had made out Cassian to be his nemesis, finds him, beats him up, only for Cass to respond “who?” And then dies
it's the perfect ending for his character
all he wanted was to feel special
and in his last moment he was nobody
I really thought also the sniper was going to shoot Dedra and that would start the attack
him shooting the kid soldier was so effective though
Yeah
they intentionally brought children to die so they wouldn't lose anything they deemed valuable
Oh fuck I didn’t even think about that
Its kinda funny in retrospective how cassian knew more about dedra than syril. The man who basically started the empire hunt for him
Someone else said it onscreen in season 1 i think
And before that, Sio Bibble said it in one of the Padme novels
#Andor spoilers
︀︀
︀︀The first time someone in Star Wars says "Shit" and it's some Scottish guy
I knew I probably was forgetting someone
I still think they should say "Fuck the Empire" in the finale
Only if it's chopper
I will say
This show made me appreciate lots of other material from this specific era
Unfortunately
I love this show more than I love myself
Rebels I think I like less now
Makes sense
I don't feel that way. I still feel invested in Ezra's journey
I've never been a big fan of the show
You just need to watch it again
I know it's apples and oranges to this
But that direct tie in
It just made my brain stop for a sec and go 😐
Which direct tie-in?
Like them saying that the ship was showing up for mothma
I knew beforehand it was a continuation
It's neither show's fault
Maybe rewatching Avatar will make me be more open to Rebels
My biggest issue with rebels is that I didn’t finish watching it when it came out, and only actually watched it before ahsoka
It just made my brain break for a sec remembering it
The ship wasn't the ghost though.
Its a tie in. But there's extra steps there.
I'm aware
Also gold squadron were in rogue one, so like
Right it's easier to remember rebels exist when I'm watching something also kinda mid
I kind of wish we got a shot of her making the rebels speech at the end, but Ik it’s not really necessary cause it exists there
What I love about Rebels is they feel like a family
I had to find the right gif with a threat of murder.
I have a few
In Andor everyone seems like theyd be unpleasant to hang out with
They feel too real
Well yeah, half of them are Nazis
Fox looking through their gifs when someone mildly disagrees with them
Bob gif, kill this guy with hammers gif 1 and 2
Fuck you, I'm hanging out with B2 and Brasso
In fact I'll go as far as to say the Ghost crew feel more like a family than the Star Warriors generally did in the OT
Bix went off to go hangout with B2 rn
I need to get more original with my gifs
I wish they brought him to Yavin :(
He must be so sad
Poor boy
There's a good chance he stayed on Ferrix in my mind. We did see him sitting there, drinking
Imagine he defects but Syril doesn't
Not crazy to suggest though that syril would have 100% defected if he didn't see cassian in the crowd, right?
I'm glad he didn't
I thought it was a great detail that the moment he felt betrayed by Dedra he jumped to legit abuse. That wasn't "you made me complicit in a genocide" hate, that was "you manipulated me and I won't stand for that"
Til the end he was the actual worst
As shitty of a person Syril is, and as sad as his ending was, I hope at least for his sake that in his last hour on Coruscant he got to taste the strap after
It is crazy that I felt bad for his mom
Eh
I think the show did a great job of showing how literally everyone in the empire loses except palpatine
Mothma's speech ending with that direct callout was so good
I always imagine Cyril from Archer whenever I hear Syril’s name
Kinda, because I doubt how much either of them actually loved eachother
I have no clue how Disney allowed that episode in the first place it was horrific
But it needed to be
Oh no I don't feel bad because of that, I feel bad because her entire life was pointless. All that belittling, all those favors she called in, she wasted all her time trying to force her son into being a somebody only to lose him because of it. She's pathetic, he's pathetic, and that's just what the Empire does to people. The propaganda it pushes, the lifestyle it encourages, it brings out the worst in people and then abandons them with the consequences of their actions.
I’m glad that in the end it was a false flag by the Empire and not by Cassian, Wil or any of the Ghormans to just fully embrace how terrible the Empire really is even towards their own soldiers
Those rookies, Syril, Dedra, the Ghormans, eventually Galen, Lyra, Krennic they all basically got used by the Empire for the sake of the Emperor and nobody else
Krennic was one of the top people in Imperial leadership and he got thrown away as soon as the Death Star was completed
Just keeps showing how fascist regimes only care about the one on top and everyone else is expendable
Even Vader was seen as expendable to Palpatine if he couldn’t control him
Even if Syril survived, he’d still be seen as a loose end by Partagaz because Dedra told him what the plan for Ghorman was
"...the monster who will come for us them soon enough is Emperor Palpatine"
Not only does this all enhance Rogue One to me
But the original trilogy
It makes the Rebel victory at Endor hit harder
I’m also VERY glad Bix wasn’t killed off
Despite how sure I was she would be
Blowing up ever single Empire apologist with my mind after this arc
HelloGreedo wears a Stormtrooper helmet does that mean he's an Empire apologist?
These two fuckers have a very special place in Hell waiting for them
Him continuing to shoot at the crowd after he shot the trooper was sickening
The officer having a hint of a smile as the massacre happens was horrific
You know damn well they were gonna find the most ruthless and psychotic fucker to pull this off
Idk why but Palmo's streets by day remind me of Sulon from Dark Forces 2
I like how Melshi still used the pistol Cassian gave him after they escaped Narkina 5
💔
Yes, which was the pistol Cassian took from Syril on Ferrix
Isn’t it the one he took from the two officers he shot
Nah that was more similar to Han's pistol
If that’s so at least one part of Syril is used by the Rebellion
Poetic
"family and kids and life" lmao
Employed final boss
I kinda wish we got to see gold squadron. So we could finally get the bad bitch in live action
(Especially since she's the only member if gold squadron to survive the battle of yavin)
On a rewatch I noticed the irony of the Gorman Senator yelling "It's my people today and yours tomorrow!" as Bail Organa looks upon him. A man whom he and his people and their world will be destroyed by the Empire.
I feel so bad for Jimmy Smitts
Imagine missing out in the best peice of Star Wars media in forever just because you're starring in something else
I'm thinking a lot about how Andor adds a lot to Mon Mothma in Rebels
You see a LOT of the ugly side of the Rebellion through Luthen and Saw, and while they're effective Mothma has first hand experience on why they won't succeed in the end
Absolutely.
Mothma going from one chaotic event to another in Rebels
Woman couldn’t catch a break that day
Saw has no restraint about his methods and he dies in a hole on Jeddah
Luthen is probably going to be killed to prevent the ISB from learning anything about Axis
Jakku?
Oops, lol
*Jeddah
Meanwhile, the person they both belittle for being naieve fucking wins the war
I still love how the Ghorman massacre reminds me of the skirmish on Jeddah city
The chaos
Same feeling with the Ferrix Riot
I hope the Dipshit Brigade survived and got assimilated into the Base One group
They finally learned how to live off the melons
I love them despite how incompetent they were
Also shoutout to the entire cast of this show. Skarsgard is the only one of all the new characters who is like a big screen actor and yet everyone here gives their all and sells their characters perfectly
Give Diego Luna the Emmy already
No it sucks
Simple: I work from home and don’t have kids
do you think cassian ever told melshi what his real name was before joining the rebellion or do you think he went around yavin talking about his legendary buddy keef girgo
I was thinking about that
I hope General Freddie Stash Antoc Merrick appears as the ultimate cap off to the Rogue One glup shittos that should appear in Andor
We already got Melshi and Draven
So I read the original K2 origin comic book. I prefer the show version
It’s been a long time since I read it, if I even read it before now, but it just seems so off in the context now
The show is proof that Star Wars retcons are fine as long as they aren't substituting the original experience and provide a better alternative
Plus the comic has a few too many running gags for my taste
The show doesn't do its own version of that comic, it just has a alternate version of Cassain and K2 meeting
I thought those gags were funny, but they don't really fit with Andor's tone
That comic is more Rogue One media than it is part of the greator Andor experience
The twins communicating through smell felt more natural in a marvel universe, than SW
I like how the show connects to Rebels despite how different the speeches are because it shows how much the Empire wanted her gone
Yeah
Going from meeting Cassian and Ezra Bridger in the same span of time must have been a complete mindfuck
Cass was escorting twin aliens who only communicate by releasing certain pheromones into the air. So he had to guesstimate what they say like “I’ll take that smell as a ‘yes’”. That’s not even an exaggeration
My favorite part is where they just talk normally at the very end
Yeah turns out they’re just fucking with him
they remind me of two Aubrey Plazas
You know there's a high chance ezra and cassian met. Considering the ghost crew were on yavin for a bit before going back to lothal
He 100% knows chopper
Well Chopper was in Rogue One
What we really need to see is chopper and K2 on a mission together
They did say at the end of episode 9 that a freighter was landing could have been a subtle reference to the Ghost
"Cassian, please don't make me work with Chopper. He keeps calling me Slurs."
It would have only been hera, chopper, rex and zeb
Kanen, sabine and ezra didn't arrive at yavin until later. Since they were doing shit on mandalore
“They don’t even make sense, but he keeps using them!”
Gold Squadron is in that episode and they help the Ghost bring her back, so I'm pretty sure that's conformation that episode is happening in the background of K2 coming back online and Cassian getting his heart broken
Next arc better be about the Death Star
That’s like the only thing left at this point
What if the last we see of Cass is in the furry coat?
I'm expecting that the last episode will have a stinger of him going to where we see him in Rogue One
Its basically confirmed the show gonna end with him meeting the guy who kills at the start of rogue one
It’s probably gonna be everything happening leading to Rogue One since that movie kinda drops you in the middle of everything
Next time on Andor
I'm 100% going to put on Rogue One right after the finale
OH AND THEN IT GOES RIGHT INTO A NEW HOPE
Shit's going to be insane to watch back to back to back one day
I’m more excited to see how it all fits in because I’m also watching Rebels in between Andor arcs
the time period between ANH and ROTS about to be the most documented period in Star Wars history
My mon said this after the last arc too lmao, it’s gonna be an Ep 10, 11 and 12 marathon for us
its kinda wild that they literally just found a dude who looks exactly like mothma aid from rebels
You good, man?
I was thinking about this and it kinda showing Clem raising Cassian not to waste things and “look past the rust”
They saved that for the finale that they put out almost a decade ago
I think it’s fine for the comic to have a different tone. Let Cassian have a bit of levity in his shitty life.
What is Linda McCartney soyjaking about?
Paul shot John(their gay relationship is over)
All the political intrigue of Andor leads to the Emperor returning somehow in 30 years as a zombie with a secret Evil fleet all armed with Death Star lasers.

I’m unfortunately reminded that everything Andor is doing, everything Rogue One and The Original Trilgoy does, is all for naught as The New Republic will disarm its military and give way to yet another fascist regime.
What the hell is that blue thing
Its from a little kids show about the high republic
When you realize the balance of the galaxy requires effort
Ain't that the reality?
That’s Nubs and you will give him respect

Holy fuck, SW Explained had a fire opening to this video
"Star Wars and its themes have not changed, but some of its audience stopped listening."
Yeah, the zombie arc we've been going through lately has been crazy
One of the few genuinely good SW YouTubers
Star Wars was always woke you just grew up to be a terrible person
People got lost in the merch
Its a larger part of his episode 7-9 review. He popped off through the whole thing.
I already saw people say “why did the Empire have to commit genocide they could have just mined the kalkite without killing anyone”
MY BROTHER IN CHTIST DID YOU HEAR WHAT WAS SAID IN THE FIRST EP
I watched the whole video it was phenomenal
Mind you its been canon for years that they genocided the geonosians after using them for slave labour on the death star
Yeah, the Empire literally said there was no way to get all of the Kalkite without face fucking the planet
Do Star Wars fans just not pay attention when they watch it?
Genuinely confused
The Lasats too
Hard to focus without the hype moments and aura
It’s literally part of Zeb’s whole character
Yeah because ofc you’d engineer a scenario where you can declare martial law on a planet to ethnically cleanse the planet of its main demographic if you could mine a material in peace
Side note, but zeb arc literally resulted in one of the best sequences in star wars
https://youtu.be/mwJPUopLrw0?si=vGkvAZmLK27hRgM4
When the crew of the Ghost agrees to help two refugees who are revealed to be surviving Lasat, Zeb must come to terms with his past to help his people reach their new home.
Its so fucking beautiful. But I guess people just weren't paying attention to the story
The Empire would never have a peaceful solution to any problem, and if they ever did its because their Propaganda department is working overtime to make people think they did
Also I just realised the video cuts off 💀
Okay there
Journey into the star cluster might also legitimately be the kiner best piece of music
Let’s also ignore them literally killing/kidnapping force sensitive children
Yeah but it was with an epic sword
Every time I see something like that I get reminded of that Wolfenstein green text where the op didn’t get why Nazis were bad because the streets were clean and there was no crime
People get caught up on the vanity of evil
A German street wasn’t meant to be clean
Just because the Empire happens to think that some things are good doesn't mean they're good guys lmao
If Vader actually did say "Respecting Women is good" that doesn't retroactively make him a good person
Throw back to when vader threw aphra out of a airlock so she'd specifically have a painful death. After promising her her death would be quick
Truly a respecter of women
Or when he choked his own wife
If any of these fuckers had a girlfriend they’d act like Syril towards her
ITS THE OLD MEME.
Where the dude has a girl hostage while he talks about star wars
Fuck that's a tiktok classic
WHAT UP GUYS IT'S STAR WARS DAY AND I'M HERE WITH MY GIRLFRIEND
Already unrealistic Star Wars fans hate women
My thing too is, the Kalkite is most likely for a the Death Star, yes?
So why split hairs on them killing people to get the material needed to wipe out entire planets
Like the Empire doesn't need the death star for anything in a practical sense either
ACTUALLY YEAH THEY BLEW UP ALDERAAN FOR LITERALLY NO REASON
And this is when people are gonna ask why the Empire is so mean????
I mean they blew up alderaan to set an example. As it was a big source for rebels
They also blew up Jeddah city to test the Death Star
legit just fell for the in-universe propaganda
He could've waited to just blow up the actual rebel base
He literally says "mmm nah not flashy enough"
And Scarif
Like they really nail home that beyond the fucked up morals of it, it's not even a logical decision. He's just being an asshole.
There's like no other way to interpret it other than him wanting to make Leia suffer
Do we ever see the senates reaction/response to the destruction of Alderaan and also the Death Stars?
The senate was disbanded before the movie
*during the movie
Damn. That sounds like a red flag. They didn’t think to stop that guy??
By the time the senate got disbanded, it was so full of Imperial Bootlickers that most of them were probably like "Hey, Palpatine knows better than me, I trust his choice!"
Damn
What about that Bail Organa guy from Andor. Surely he was still there
Can’t imagine anything bad happening to him ever
I’m thinking about the Imperial sniper and how we’ve only ever gotten scout troopers as snipers in canon for the most part the guy in Andor looks 10x more menacing with the hood
I like all the “new” Imperial army unit variants

The Senate Guard armour wasn’t immune to the Imperialification of everything
this is a coping mechanism btw
this show is insane
one of my favorite things to exist ever
Ep 8 was very hard to watch
Episode 8 was some of the scariest shit imaginable
In all the best ways ofc
It was the silence then the sinister music because the Ferrix riot was also a massacre
the way syril develops some awareness of his role in the massacre but as soon as he sees cassian it fizzles out and he immediately shifts the blame
just doesnt have the guts to take accountability
But it was framed less tragically than the Ghorman Massacre
Because the Ferrix riot was just one dipshit Impy giving an order
ferrix was a massacre but there was some semblance of hope and community mixed in
Ghorman massacre was engineered to happen
ghorman was sheer terror
and yeah
all the planning that went into it was just so
so so sinister
and god
far too real
It honestly kind of felt like the Detroit riots were an inspiration
genuinely awful so awful
Genuinely one of the most reprehensible Imperials ever
they keep raising the fucking bar with that
The sniper too
These next three episodes cannot come quicker
He just kept shooting at the crowd
And clearly unarmed people
I hoped Cassian would just shoot him
But even Cassian was taken aback by everything
It's crazy to think most of this was written before the situation in palestine got worse
that made me more angry than scared personally
my hands were legit clenched tight til they were turning white that whole scene
this I was just crying
That fucker is burning in hell right now
Same it was so fucking sad
Cassian and Wilmon both having these expressions too
Even seasoned Rebel spies couldn’t believe the things they were seeing
“Hello father. Where is mother?”
cassian is the mom
its just so insane to see history constantly repeating itself like this
even with the first arc being released in the midst of all the immigration shit happening right now
its actually killing me how topical it continues to be
art always finds a way of exposing the truth
everything with the ghorman massacre just being actual things that happened in palestine in the first few months of the genocide and beyond
Cassian - male mom
Wilmon - Neurodivergent dad
Luthen - sister
K2SO - woke dog
even the "valley, highlands" just made me immediately think "from the river to the sea"
Not me almost being in the middle of a false flag situation during the largest protest in Serbian history because that’s what the LRAD attack was for
bro I gotta get a gun or something
HG goes to the pawn shop
Discord I don't plan on doing anything illegal
Its one of my favorite details in Episode 9. Really shows you how much of a shell the Senate is by this point.
He’s lying
He’s still lying
you're right
Literally at this point I’m going to protests armed
pixarpal is gonna buy it for me
Ferrix was definitely more hopeful because it had Maarva’s speech
Syril seconds before beating the shit outta Cass
Alright but just this once
seeing syril being not only slapped, not only beaten, but also shot in the head healed something in me
cassians legit fighting skills were so satisfying to watch
That fight between was brutal
god i hope dedra gets eviscerated atom by atom
Dedra put some balls in that man
I do though
It also shows gradually how more and more oppressive the Empire becomes till eventually they dissolve the Imperial senate after 1 (one) major battle with the Rebel Alliance
if he saw syril coming even without his blaster I feel like cassian could've whooped his ass without a scratch being laid on him
I hope she's retconned into being on Scarif and gets blown up
PLEASE.
they have her strapped directly to the inside of the death star’s main reactor
have they ever stated what specifically lead to the senate being dissolved?
Anyone else nearly lose their breath when they almost saw each other on the stairs?
She's a victim of the Death Star's lack of guard rails
Galen was fucking COOKING.
Ngl was hoping more of the other rebel senators were featured in the show
Garm Bel Iblis would have been fun to see or at least be mentioned
I feel bad for them but not in a sense that I think their misery is unjustified, but in a “look at the sad evil pathetic creature trying to feel regular human emotion”
i always assumed it was gradual, and that by the time of ANH the dissolution was basically a formality and it was useless anyways
her little panic attack
Y’all finally saw how Israel treats Palestinians if only Andor was around 1948 mfs would’ve known earlier
I like to think mothma leaving was the beginning of the end for it
We knew for a while
Corellian senator who’s also commanding a whole rebel cell and striking at strategic places while being in the imperial senate and being so good at lying about his involvements
Wish we got something with Garm Bel Iblis,
Pins don’t work in this channel, but I appreciate the enthusiasm
syril feels 5 ounces of guilt and immediately has to pin it on someone else bc its too much for him to handle
ayham says this like we haven't all actively been watching clips of real world genocide for over a year
israeli occupation was one of many inspirations for the brutality in this show
In 1948 it would’ve been solely based on WWII still
I can tell
ayham watch the show
this is homework
Yeah watch peak or leave
like legitimately
Waiting for the show to come out fully so me and Jaine can watch it, we made an agreement.
Fair enough
Jaine already watched it without you
also stop spoiling it for yourself
Yeah he’s willing to do it again lol
I don’t mind watching it a 10th time (sick individual)
My dad always waits for shows to finish. Idk why
Excited to binge watch the whole season with my girlfriend
God I’m in so much need of content like this
I don’t really mind spoilers
I’d also like to believe Dedra’s little meltdown was also at the loss of her boyfriend because I do think she loved him even if she was a psychopath
We’ve finished season 1 but she wanted to wait until all of season 2 was out to watch it all in one go
I honestly don’t even remember most of these guys’ names except Paul McCartney and Syril.
could you imagine this releasing in the old schedule and we'd just have to sit with episode 8 for a whole week
Oh and Mothma ig
exactly you remember shit better if you watch it and get invested
media is so much better when u havent extensively discussed every detail with people who have watched it 😭😭😭
Paul Mcartney?? 😭
I feel like episode 9 is understated in the chat. It was fucking intense
im sitting my partner down and making them watch this show if its the last thing i do
Why yes I’m aware.
im actually just beginning to introduce them to star wars as a whole
My girlfriend loves Bix, so she’s gonna be heartbroken at what happens this season
Ayham has to fact check media and see if the spongy boingy was properly represented with his comic accurate pissed pair of pants before he watches it
The show is named after him! 😭
Well then wait for it and stop ruining it for yourself ♥️
bix leaving was such a gut punch
I introduced my GF to Star Wars through the OT and now she’s an even bigger fan than I am lol
i love media that fucking ruins me
GIVE DIEGO LUNA THE ENMY ALREADY
Media recently has been ruining me
Gotta make sure the realistic genocidal maniacs also has colorful and whimsical clothing now ain’t that fantastic?
His reaction to her being gone was so genuine
I love that until the very end the message of all of star wars is that you can't run from the fight and expect to come out unscathed
We’ were about to watch the Prequels and she says “okay I’m also gonna read the books you talk about all the time cuz they sound awesome”
Like I actually fucking won
It was but like it also reassured me that she might be okay by the time the OT comes around
Isn’t introducing your media to people just the best?
ikr after 8 i was thinking "they already had a massive, heavy episode. what are they going to do next" and then boom
After them I was like “wait there’s one whole arc left”
i was sure they would bring k2 online early and have him crack some jokes after how heavy the massacre was(i am coping)
That's the center of Star Wars, sacrifice,
Like obviously mon is gonna make it out but Christ did they make it terrifying
She’s reading the new Jedi order books now, and I didn’t even tell her about them she just picked them up on her own cuz I talked about them all the time 😭
The media censorship made me so angry
Like she’s the best I love her so much
honestly love this for u, finally someone who picks up those damn books for u 😭
I don’t think Mon made it fully out. Not mentally
Her delivery of "Emperor Palpatine" at the end will stick with me
LMAO yeah
0 days without NJO mentioned
Like as she said it I just like remembered every death he caused
She is a fantastic actor
maybe the next time i watch rogue one cassian will escape and live out his days with bix on a farm
just like how the next time i watch revenge of the sith anakin wont turn to the dark side
ITS REALLY GONNA HAPPEN
THIS TIME I HAVE A FEELING
Turtle...
I don't think I've been this like scared of what the emperor represents since rotj
this makes the emperor in rotj feel like a yapping chihuahua
Sorry gang 😔
I particularly wonder if this and luthen general actions helps fuel mothma general disdain for saw and his exile from the alliance
AND THE MF IS NOT EVEN ON SCREEN EVER
the parallels in the 8th episode were crazier but we also got people publicly speaking for the right thing and being censored and having the media turned against them
nuh uh. never happens
unrealistic
the galaxy is watching
This was incredibly relevant
cough Israel
shit is literally happening in the US with judges
I remember seeing someone compare episode 8 to January 6th and they got absolutely lambasted in the replies
Bro is just blind, deaf and stupid
Media literacy competition but my opponent is a republican
thinking about krennic’s snarky little “my rebel is your terrorist” remark
GRAHHHHH
"this is just like that time we all screamed a bunch and now one of is a representative!"
Im crying lmfao
so many thoughts about these episodes running through my head that are so complex the only thing that comes out is:
Man it would suck if Andor was happening in real life
I actually don't know if one of the january 6th terrorists won an election but I know they were running for office last year
“You best be believing in Andor stories, you’re in one”
good thing its just silly escapist fantasy
“This episode reminds me of the time we ransacked the capitol because a president who favoured the people was winning the vote instead of rich selfish billionaire”
Holy crap, Lois
holy freaking crap lois this reminds me of that time that we lived in a proto-fascist state
if i was better with words i'd have anything better than that but uhhh yeah anyway the empire is awful it's a good thing fascists are fictional amiright
imagine being so cushy in the imperial core that you think the show inspired by all sorts of real life genocides and historical atrocities is about your friends throwing a hissy fit about your media mogul not winning an election
the victim complex is insane
well okay like. we are cushy in the imperial core
but ykwim
Holy crap, Lois, man-made horrors that is realistic and will lead to the death of millions
just being so condensed in that bubble
Cassian boarding the U-Wing instead of needing to wait for Luthen with the Fondor felt exactly as it was, Cassian doesn’t need Luthen anymore and Luthen knows he is reaching his expiration date
He isn’t built for Yavin
uhhh petah… wheres the cutaway gag….
i dont know.. im scared lois
He went out in public as himself, short haired & dark cloak, not the Luthen the elite know
He's at his endgame
I'm this close to kicking you from the thread man gtfo and wait to watch this show 😭
Do it
Idk why turtle I feel like you could do a good Lois impression lmao
Okay fine 🗿
"holy crap lois this is just like the time i encountered a KX droid at ghorman-"
I said this before but the ISB is a law enforcement agency so in actual war they wouldn’t be as effective, military intelligence takes place then
bro those droids
But also he has an actual home now
Where he feels safe
He’s outside of the gray box that was Luthen’s safehouse
the fucking brutality of the kx units was insane
K2 in RO: haha I’m a silly guy, with dark humor
KX in Andor: Terminator theme
I feel like JFO made them really fucking scary
True
how im starin at this mf on my shelf after seeing andor s2 e8
they were scarier
Remembering when they were revealed in fallen order
And that was just enhanced in Andor
but not this bad
when it kicked the barricade
i have immense respect for cal kestis after he can still fight being slammed and beaten by those things but the average ghorman fucking dies when hit by one
Idk. Their grip was pretty terrifying in FO at first
It kinda makes sense why they deployed these fuckers on mandalore during the purge
haha it's a good thing death robots are so scifi and also nowhere near
The force or something idk
its terrifying that a jedi has that much trouble against one. but being a jedi, its less scary knowing you’ll cut em down
if ur just some guy with a gun ur FUCKED
How tf did Jyn one-shot a KX unit on Jedha tho
Plot
maybe jedha got the cheap ones
the force or something idk
The way the bolts just ricocheted off
So what kind of blaster penetrates a KX, because I wasn’t aware they had advanced armor
i'm sure the ghors had the cheap stuff
“the strongest whores have farts of kyber” or whatever the wise gay blind guy said
Probably not most. Considering they were seemingly the main force user against mandalorians. Which you know, I don't think use cheap weapons.
The hardest droids require the strongest wills
god its been a while since a piece of media has had me this invested
ghors? more like... gored
probably since like. s1 of the same show
Watch more stuff
probably the issue is watching too much tbh
Good soup
i lied sinners was the last thing i watched that made me feel similarly emotional
so. pretty recent
its just different when the piece of media that hits also happens to connect to a hyperfixation
Yeah true
other stuff doesn't have cereal warring in the stars
And something that was slop for a while
for real
The last time I watched something I cried through the majority of was Grave of the Fireflies
funny nazi guy gets yelled at by his mom while eating cereal
If it’s revealed that Ghibli is like a secret producer of one of the episodes I’m gonna hyperfixate
I talked to Masterbuilt about this but Andor is the only piece of live action Star Wars media that I think use Lucas’ original approach to creating a visual identity rather than just emulate the visual language of the Original Trilogy, it’s why I get a mix of Prequel and OT feelings visually
Well it will be nice to see more of the Ninth Jedi again at least
It’s evident because even the Acolyte sorta emulated the OT with how things were designed
I don’t get OT at all from acolyte
Lock in cuz it’s gonna be a rough few years with more mando slop
I do especially with the ships and everything
He probably doesn’t remember
God I’m sad that Acolyte got cancelled so fast but after the first two episodes I had no fucking desire to watch it
He’s innocent
I never said that
All of the costuming especially for ghorman reminds me of the bespin extras in ESB
As I said Palmo’s streets remind me of Sulon from Dark Forces 2
So real I tapped out at episode 3 with the witch covern and just watched the lightsaber fights
Pixar why the vhs emote 😭
It’s unfortunate because the latter have was an improvement
Idk. I don’t have a traditional Chad beyond that one
It has the best Disney+ Lightsaber duels so that makes sense
low bar
The show was really disjointed
Like I was bored as fuck for the osha and Mae plot
But everything with Qimir sounded so sick
Oh wait you said Disney+
The show from the start should’ve just been focused on Qimir and Vernestra’s falling out, and then him being like a rogue Sith endangering the rule of two
Actually if we’re counting animation, still not even close
Quimir is the only new Dark Side user who has a lightsaber style beyond "big guy"
if we're counting animation yeah it's still ass
wait the stranger?
Ahsoka Maul Mandalore Siege
Amazing fucking fight
I know I'm saying the acolyte is ass in comparison
Ah
but better than the kenobi fight if we're talking live action d+
I only remember the Ahsoka and Maul fight because people glaze it
I actually like the fights in Ahsoka
There’s a reason
Baylan v Ahsoka both times was pretty good
Actually felt like a fan film
The entire show is ugly as sin
Yeah
A group of High Republic Jedi led by Jedi Master Sol encounter a mysterious Sith Lord one night in the forests of Khofar.

Captain helmet
The Mustafa scene looked like a fucking Dark Forces 2 cutscene
I love that he literally just throws himself into fights to catch blades with his Cortosis gear, then kill Jedi when they're defenseless
Oh I'm stupid I forget he was qimir
lmao
I thought qimir was squid games guy
He’s the most dark souls player Star Wars Sith we’ve ever seen
Qimir would do well in SG
Shattered Glass? Silvagunner?
Squid game
Anyways best character is back. SW is finally good again
Do you think there's a Mr beast equivalent in star wars on the holo net who tortures people for entertainment
chopper
I was gonna say hondo
Yeah probably like Mojo from X-men
Mr. Beast the Hutt
I bet he uses that cube from Tcw, but with cameras
I didn't want to connect mojo to Mr beast
It actually fucking works
I wanna die
😭
I’ll add it to the list
I need marvel to have Bobcat Goldfhwait voice Mojo before he dies. Please mr. Feige 🙏
What if Andor S2 ends like this but it cuts to Dedra working on the Death Star
It'd be peak
@thin raft would that suffice as atoms?
Ngl, kind of expected more from that Star Wars Explained video
Thought it was gonna be 20-30 min and it was only 6
Vel probably recognised the Preox Morlana pistol from her time with Cassian on Aldhani
I love how little details like this don’t get forgotten
I might be in the minority but I really am glad he didn't get a redemption arc and I genuinely don't think he deserved it
He doesn’t deserve one
I was betting on him fully dying as a nobody
And he did
Because it’s meant to show that Nazis who just “followed orders” were part of the problem
I think everything leading up to A New Hope is about the sacrifice it takes to reach a point where change is possible
Cassian’s arc in Rogue One makes more and more sense the closer we get to the ending of Andor
Maybe some point down the line Syril could've grown up in an environment where he realized what he was doing was wrong. But he was never in that space here and now. He was always cannon fodder.
He gave everything for the cause
Including part of his humanity
And compassion
Because of how much he lost
He relearns to care through Jyn
You can tell Bix leaving is really what sealed the deal
There’s really nothing for him anymore but the cause
I feel like Vel is in a similar boat
Also I forgot to mention but I think the force healer was the perfect level of mysticism this show was allowed to have
I like that she was clearly not a Jedi, but just like a woman who knows she has some connection to the force and is trying to foster it for good
But it's completely out of her control
I love how him being called a messenger connects back to Melshi telling him to tell people what happened at Narkina 5
I love when previous arcs still have relevance and payoffs even after so long
How Cass mentions that him and Vel are the only survivors of the Aldhani heist
I think the best thing Rogue One and this show reinforced is that there are no small roles
It fits with the themes of the average person helping with the cause no matter how minor their role is
We saw it with the technicians in the senate building
Bellhop
He was just some random kid Cassian connected to and he remembered him and helped him
I hate to say I've gotten so out of the loop that I don't know what these tweet parodies are of anymore 😭
man they would've been so much more successful if they gave the guy a random ring with the rebel logo on it and then had him hold up a broom so that it looked like a lightsaber
would've been a lot more subtle and effective
I am so normal about the quote “rebellions are built on hope” being something Cassian adopts from just a random kid who he sympathised with
Again though it's just so good seeing that the reward for being a rebel isn't going on fun goofy missions it's the feeling of not being afraid. It's knowing that you can speak the truth, it's believing that you can make a difference.
It’s gonna probably be remembered as a weird little inconsistency
Ngl, that speech that is getting retconned in that Rebels episode is pretty tame
Like, its funny that Mon Mothma is like "The Emperor is bad, actually" and the Empire is suddenly on the warpath
Whoever translated him to live action locked the fuck in
Hang on now I'm lost
Rebels didn't show her speech in the senate right?
She gave a separate "I'm quitting my job and becoming a rebel" speech after the fact in that show right?
They did but only part of it
oh okay I see now
I assume that’s what they are referring too with what’s being retconned because it’s really only similar in emperor bad and Ghormans dead
That poor little bastard
Yeah this is much more impactful than that two second clip, even in the slight writing difference
I forgot did he die from the detonator he threw
I…don’t remember
I assume so
I didn’t think so, but he probably died on the aftermath still
I know he told somebody to move then he threw one
Probably? That explosion was huge
Yeah, he screwed up his eyes as it went off so I think he knew he was gonna die
Noticing the corporate issue blaster pistol, Vel looks up, scanning the crowd of new recruits. “Who belongs to this?” she asks.
︀︀
︀︀“I think that’s mine,” a voice comes with a raised hand from the back, as the camera pulls in to reveal
Quoting Nude Gunray (@nude_gunray)
︀
Syril Karn would never join the Rebellion, but Linus Mosk absolutely would have.
Honestly, I would have loved to see Mosk defect
Longest living Andor/Rogue One character
Who was that guy?
In that scene at the end
A thing that haunts me is Rylaz asking Syril “what kind of a being are you”
It’s the prequel to “who are you?”
He was the Pre Mors Sergant that went with Syril to Ferrix
He also got drunk after the riot in the finale
It’s what escalates Syril’s inner conflict
ohhhh that's a good point
I’m not talking about Mosk in the image, I mean at the end of the episode in Andor the scene the tweet is referencing
This also perfectly dehumanised him on a same level as the ISB and the Empire did
Syril deserved his death for ditching Mosk

I was wondering where that senate building was irl
It's very pretty, but the practical sets do make the okayish cgi moments stand out more
the first shot of the kx droids I said "oof that's rough" out loud I won't lie
But when you know how to direct a scene it really stops mattering
The fence parking lot thing outside was in Spain
right that's what the video says
I only learned that yesterday
also fence parking lot is an insane description
Is it wrong tho
it's not exactly what most people would think of no
Well idk what else to call it
I’m interested most in what is gonna happen with Vel and Wil
Wil is someone Cassian loves a lot
And at this point he’s a pretty good operative
I don’t doubt he’s gonna be gone by the time the show wraps up
Could be
Retired at age 24
How horrific the Ghorman massacre was he was an absolute legend
He was on his own in the middle of the plaza and managed to get out even after the KX droids got sent out
blud even went back for the ghormussy and lived
His rizz protected him from being shot by stormtroopers
Ok so I’ve reread the comic
I still think it’s a good story
And it could still fit in canon if we just assume K2 got captured by the Empire sometime between this arc and the final one and got updates (like moving the kill switch from his neck to his butt), and Cassian just so happens to find him again on this mission, being more intent on reprogramming him given his familiarity with him
I did it. I beat Star Wars.
Best thing to do is to not care
Disney doesn’t consider the stories of Republic Commando and KOTOR canon but I do
The only bad thing about this show is that it created a new type of Holier than thou Star Wars Fans
Which is weirdly not part of Fandom Menace
Because they’re too busy jerking the Empire off to accept they’re ruthless fascists
Personally, I prefer those over the Manchildren
You'll never hear a Andor Fan saying the Empire were actually the good guys because Palpatine was secretly planning for the Yuuzhon Vong
I’ll take snobs because movie snobs are everywhere over people trying to convince me a story about Luke farting in a jar and making a force clone of Anaking from it is somehow better than anything Disney made
What makes Syril's fate even more tragic is the fact he was pregnant when he died
He died from heartbreak because of what Cassian said
Dedra when Baby Shoes, never worn
Idk if this is a hot take but Syril’s death was incredibly funny
it was gonna be funny no matter what
i wouldve laughed if not at the pure shock of the entire rest of the scene
unrelated but im thinking about how B2 was just left behind on the farms
he was alr so anxious ab being left behind
This is the first time a Star Wars scene made me genuinely uncomfortable when I watched it
Syril’s death always had to be pathetic just like he was
I’m glad because it kinda solidified him as one of the best villains of the franchise
Just a sad pathetic little man who was used by a fascist regime because he’s too stupid to see how terrible the fascists he supports are
