I also love the gradual buildup of Mon Mothma's anger at the Imperial senate and the Empire with how many senators aren't willing to challenge PORD and how many of them mostly use their positions to live lavish lives
I love how realistic it is when she talked about her crime rates increasing because of PORD which reminded me of something like the War on Drugs in America and the increase in incarciration of people who weren't the source of the problem

Personally, the Original Trilogy are good films but the Expanded Universe and the Prequels were the main things that hooked me into Star Wars. So its incredibly frustrating that the Franchise has the capacity to create really interesting and unique stories but settles for cashing in on people's nostalgia for three films just because its the things people are the most familiar with.
