initial inspiration has been L4D2 versus mode

so levels that can be progressed through and there is two teams trying to complete their opposing objectives on whatever levels whilst killing eachother

what first came to mind was MTF & SCPs, the SCPs are horde based npcs and then special ones that are the players. Each level has a unique roster of horde enemies and playable ones, and the levels span across the SCP universe with dimensions and sites and just general locations

#

and it's all happening due to some dimensional anomaly the MTF were sent in to destroy or something

#

but basically when a round ends in a level, the team that won is one win closer to winning the game, however each win from either side pushes the other team back, possibly back into the previous level or whatever

#

imagine the levels in a line and if its pushed too far one way one team wins and too far the other way the other team wins

#

and if it goes too long back and forth the amount of levels shrink inwards until its a final round
