I stopped doing comms for a while for a few reasons but the main one is because I couldn't handle stuff like that. Companies can be just as slimy as regular people, always do something like half-progress pay, watermarking everything until they pay, or something along those lines. It's a pain at first but once you make it a habit you'll feel a lot more secure in your art.

There are some cases where it's not super important. For example I almost never watermark my UI concepts here, but I'll usually do it for my sketches and stuff. Cus that art is related to this game and this community, most people know it's me, etc. But for clients you're unfamiliar with, better to be safe than sorry that you wasted so much of your time. yk?
